CALLER: Oh, it\u2019s good to get on your show. I\u2019m thankful to talk to you because you\u2019re the man who\u2019s in a way changed my life. You changed my skull full of mush into something good. I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The point I called about was I had a conversation with one of my Democratic friends the other night, I am surrounded by them up here, and I was marveling at what he said. He said, ‘You know, it would be really nice if the next president gets a fair chance and a fair break, no matter who they are,\u2019 and I just stopped right there, and I wrapped my mind around that. Rush, I said to him, ‘Well, you know, I could probably do that, but can you drop your maniacal, twisted, misguided hatred for George Bush?\u2019 and he said, after a moment, ‘No,\u2019 and it just spoke volumes to me. I\u2019d like to know how you feel about that. What you think about that?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m a little fascinated here by the liberal thought process. I always am, even though I know it better than they do. He hopes the next president gets a fair shake?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No matter who they are?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What the hell do you think he meant?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I don\u2019t know. I guess I really think that he feels like it will be a Democratic president, but, you know, that\u2019s out there right now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Is this Looney Toon also not admitting in saying what he said —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — that Bush has not gotten a ‘fair chance and a fair break\u2019?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. The conversation didn\u2019t go much further because I started talking about how we treated Clinton during his years. We didn\u2019t bog him down in Kosovo. We helped produce a good budget. There were some things we didn\u2019t disagree with, especially the Monica Lewinsky junk and all that, but we didn\u2019t do that to them. They started this with us on day one. They\u2019re not going to change, Rush. They\u2019re disconnected between their heart and their mind, and that\u2019s why they can\u2019t — and that\u2019s what you fixed me with, years ago. You reconnected my heart and my mind. You can\u2019t think with one and feel with the other and not use \u2019em both.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, that is profound. I have to tell you, that is profound. You don\u2019t know how profound — not what you said about me. The whole concept that you can\u2019t separate the heart from the mind.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Separating the heart from the mind, if you do that, is going to lead to never-ending internal conflict.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Craziness.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The heart\u2019s going to tell you one thing, the mind\u2019s going to tell you another, and you don\u2019t know which one to go with.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mostly you\u2019ll go with your heart because you want to feel good about yourself.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There are times that one does need to overwhelm the other a little bit, but once they\u2019re disconnected you\u2019re crazy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not if they\u2019re on the same page.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well…<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s the trick for all of us. That\u2019s really pretty descriptive way to explain this to people. I\u2019m glad you called, David. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
