<\/a> RUSH: I want to predict a firestorm that has yet to erupt but it likely will, ladies and gentlemen. Rep. Peter King, New York Republican, ‘said there are ‘too many mosques in this country\u2019 in a recent interview with Politico. ‘There are too many people sympathetic to radical Islam,\u2019 King said. ‘We should be looking at them more carefully and finding out how we can infiltrate them.” Too many mosques in this country. Can you say, ‘Uh-oh\u2019? I happen to think this is a courageous thing to say. This has become one of the biggest politically correct subjects and taboo subjects, so that people are scared to go there and talk about it, and he just opened up and launched through The Politico, which reminds me. Ladies and gentlemen, I have another book that I want to recommend to you, especially given the Peter King story. It\u2019s by Norman Podhoretz. I interviewed Mr. Podhoretz for the September issue of the Limbaugh Letter. His book is called: World War IV: The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism<\/a>. The Cold War, to him, was World War III. This is a no-holds-barred, brilliant explanation of just what we face around the world, not just here in our country. This book is loaded with things that defy political correctness. <\/p>\n

I have a new governing philosophy I live by: ‘It is what it is,\u2019 and Mr. Podhoretz, in this book, spells it out. Islamofascism is what it is, and they are telling us every day what their plans are. Hell, Ahmadinejad just today said, ‘If Israel launches anything, we\u2019re going to destroy \u2019em.\u2019 He keeps talking about wiping out Israel. Do you know that there was an accident? The Iranians and the Syrians were trying to load a Scud missile with a chemical warhead back in July, and there was an accident. The thing blew up. It had sarin gas in it, and about 23 people died, the engineers and technicians working on the darn thing. It was not reported back then. It\u2019s been reported by Jane\u2019s Defence Weekly. It has been confirmed. This happened back in July. We have information here that Syria is working with Iran and perhaps North Korea on nukes, and the Israelis took a hit on whatever that installation is. The nuke aspect hasn\u2019t been confirmed. Let me find this later on in the stack. There\u2019s one other thing that some wacko in Iran has said about what\u2019s going to happen on the end of Ramadan, which is October the 12th. Yeah, here we go. This is from the Jerusalem Post. <\/p>\n

‘Supporters of the Zionist regime will receive their response during the world Qods Day\u2019s rallies, government spokesman, Gholam-Hossein Elham, said Wednesday. The spokesman made the remarks during his weekly press conference while commenting on the current visit to the occupied Palestine of the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Qods Day is held each year on the last Friday of Muslims fasting month of Ramadan after it was nominated by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini as a day to voice the protest of the Islamic Ummah against the Zionists. The day falls on October 12 this year. ‘The US loses all opportunities to cooperate with regional and other world states by trying to support a regime (the Zionist regime) which is now at its weakest political and social position,\u2019 Elham said.\u2019 Nobody knows what this means, but it certainly sounds like some sort of a threat. Receive their final response on October 12th, the end of Ramadan? Anyway, the point is, ladies and gentlemen, people have their heads in the sand and are not listening to the direct threats that Islamofascists are making. It was a fascinating conversation I had with Norman Podhoretz. I asked him, ‘Why do you think there\u2019s such apathy in the United States about this?\u2019 <\/p>\n

I thought the answers to this question were pretty brilliant, but I\u2019m not going to tell you what they were because it\u2019s coming up in an interview in the Limbaugh Letter. He\u2019s a brilliant, brilliant man. His wife is Midge Decter, and Commentary Magazine is something he\u2019s edited and published for most of his life. But this book, World War IV: The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism, if you want to be hit between the eyes about what we face out there… If you\u2019ve seen the movie Obsession, multiply it times 20 with what\u2019s in this book. We\u2019ve recommended that movie, the DVD to you, Obsession, which details the intricate comparisons and the linked past between today\u2019s Islamofascists and the Nazis. It\u2019s going to wake you up. The New York Times Book Review has savaged this book, which is just a laugh to me. For anybody at the New York Times Book Review to be taking on the intellect of somebody like Norman Podhoretz is just laughable. It\u2019s silly and it\u2019s absurd. But the reason for it is, for some reason — it\u2019s just mind-boggling — the left in this country wants you to understand that we face a great external threat. <\/p>\n

The liberals want everybody to think that our greatest threats are posed by Americans who disagree with them, as in George Bush being the biggest threat that we face. They have so politically abandoned the cause, if you will, of defending the country. They have so effectively gone away from that that they cannot thus have it exposed that there is a threat that they\u2019ve run away from that they\u2019re trying to hide and mask and suggest doesn\u2019t exist. So, as you know, I don\u2019t recommend too many books, but this, I think, is an issue. Look, how shocked were you when I told you what Peter King said? Here\u2019s an elected official who said, ‘We have too many mosques. We need to think about infiltrating them.\u2019 (Gasp!) How many of you gasped? This is not what we hear. We hear the exact opposite. We keep talking about ‘the religion of peace\u2019 and this sort of thing. But one thing that we know: every terrorist is an Islamofascist. You have the IRA, I know this. But it is what it is, and people are going to have to face it squarely. It was an honor for me, by the way, to speak to Mr. Podhoretz. He Bill Buckley and that whole crowd… Podhoretz has been in the fight.<\/p>\n

You know, when I talk about people who labor behind the scenes and are working hard down there in the basements and they get no notoriety or very little, very little acclaim, other than within their group, Podhoretz is one of those guys. He has been working, toiling away. He\u2019s been defining. He\u2019s been philosophizing. He\u2019s been commenting, and he\u2019s been providing guidance for people for over 50 years on matters of great import, and this is just his latest effort. So if you want to read it, it\u2019s World War IV: The Long Struggle Against Islamofascism by Norman Podhoretz. But be ready for what you\u2019re going to find inside. Some of you probably have a pretty good idea already. You people in this audience are among the most knowledgeable and most informed in this country. (interruption) Yes, Mr. Snerdley? I have a question from the program observer. (interruption) Yeah. (interruption) Oh, yeah! Yeah, yeah. Go through, get the story. Is it not enough that I say it? You still challenge whether or not it\u2019s actually true? We don\u2019t know where it came from. This printed out very, very small. <\/p>\n

”Dozens Died in Syrian-Iran Missile Test\u2019 — Proof of cooperation between Iran and Syria in the proliferation and development of weapons of mass destruction was brought to light Monday in Jane\u2019s Defence Weekly, which reported that dozens of Iranian engineers and 15 Syrian officers were killed in a July 23 accident in Syria. According to the report, cited by Channel 10.\u2019 Remember, the Jerusalem Post is the source here. ‘The joint Syrian-Iranian team was attempting to mount a chemical warhead on a Scud missile when the explosion occurred, spreading lethal chemical agents, including sarin nerve gas. Reports of the accident were circulated at the time; however, no details were released by the Syrian government, and there were no hints of an Iranian connection. The report comes on the heels of criticism leveled by the Syrians at the United States, accusing it of spreading ‘false\u2019 claims of Syrian nuclear activity and cooperation with North Korea to excuse an alleged Israeli air incursion over the country this month. … Syria began developing chemical weapons in 1973, just before the Yom Kippur War. Globalsecurity.org cites the country as having one of the most advanced chemical weapons programs in the Middle East.\u2019 So that\u2019s the source.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just want to make an observation here. Democrats tell us that they want to talk to our enemies, that we should talk and listen and be all warm and fuzzy with them. However, Pelosi and Kucinich and Obama — I don\u2019t think Obama has talked, but Pelosi and Kucinich — have talked to Assad recently.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They didn\u2019t just talk to him. They went over there and practically prostrated themselves before him!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly, and this strike that the Israelis made on the North Korean weapons, nuclear stuff that —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, the possible nuclear installation in Syria. We\u2019re still not sure if it was, but it was something.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. And do you think that Mr. Assad spoke to Pelosi and Kucinich about this beforehand?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, come on. We all know what happens. This is classic. In the first place, ‘Don\u2019t call those nice gentlemen our ‘enemies.\u2019 That\u2019s confrontational. The Democrats speak with ‘foreign leaders.\u2019 They\u2019re not speaking with our enemies. We don\u2019t have any enemies. Our enemy is George W. Bush.\u2019 So they went over to Assad and talked to Assad, and I don\u2019t know this for a fact, but I know it\u2019s happened in the past. Didn\u2019t it come up in the Kerry campaign in \u201904? It might have come up during the Reagan years with the Soviets. Democrats have long gone over to foreign countries, enemies of ours, and said, ‘Just sit tight. We\u2019ll get rid of Reagan,\u2019 or, ‘We\u2019ll get rid of Bush. Everything will be okay. Don\u2019t hold this against us. You know, we\u2019re your friends here. We Democrats, we understand you, and we want to talk to you. We want to get peace,\u2019 and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I know they did it with Ortega, and I think it happened a couple of times in the 80s with the Soviets. My memory is that Ted Kennedy back in the Reagan days went to the Soviet Union and said, ‘Look, just bide our time here. You know, this guy is mad. He has got a finger on the button. We\u2019re not going to let him push it, so just chill.\u2019<\/p>\n

They do this. So I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if Pelosi and whoever else — I know Kucinich went over there, but there have been others. Why would they go? Well, one of the reasons they went was to upstage Bush, but they would go over there because, ‘Mr. Assad, you realize that things are being said in our country, we don\u2019t believe them, and we could do business with you. Just wait \u2019til we\u2019re in charge,\u2019 and blah, blah, blah, and when they walk out of there, I guarantee you Assad gets on the phone and calls Mahmoud in Iran and calls his buddies down in Lebanon and Hezbollah. He says, ‘You won\u2019t believe what just happened here! I just had these two idiot infidels walk in here, these Democrats, this midget Kucinich and this Pelosi babe, and they\u2019re telling me how much they love us! Ha-ha-ha! Do you realize how we can wrap these people around our fingers?\u2019 Just to prove it, they start loading a Scud missile with a chemical warhead that has sarin gas in it — and it explodes and kills a bunch of Syrians and Iranians that are working on it, and the Israelis have to take out some kind of installation. It\u2019s clear that the conversation of Pelosi and Kucinich gets laughed at. They want to go talk to Iran! Pelosi says (paraphrased), ‘Next, I want to go talk to Iran. I want to go talk to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.\u2019 Now, Ahmadinejad, she might not have to go to Iran because Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez are both due in the United States on Sunday. The UN session, the General Assembly opens up next week and it\u2019s time for a new round of speeches. So perhaps Pelosi can get together with them there, or have them down to Washington for dinner or something, or maybe a joint address to Congress. Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad! It\u2019s been a year since the sulfur speech of Hugo Chavez. This is correct, Mr. Snerdley. Time flies, does it not, on this show and everywhere else? Look, these are thugs. These are totalitarians dictators, and they see Pelosi and Kucinich and these other people for what they are: rubes, idiots, people that can be lied to; people that can be jacked around; people that can be used and manipulated.
