RUSH: We go to Washington. This is Harry, and it\u2019s great to have you, sir, welcome.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. I work on Capitol Hill for a conservative Republican member on Congress. Me and my boss are big fans of yours.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You are the most effective communicator of conservative principles in our country today, and it\u2019s a pleasure to speak with you again.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, my reason for calling you is to let you know how your name stopped a Republican member of Congress from sending out an official mail to his constituents, and I\u2019ll let you know how these libs got in the Petraeus hearing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute, now. You want to tell me how my name stopped a Republican member of Congress from sending out official mail to his constituents? <\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s exactly right, Rush, it happens.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What am I missing?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Rush, when you send over 500 pieces of mail, mass mail to your constituents, it has to be approved by the Franken Commission.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Who runs the Franken Commission? The Dems.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And Representative John Mica from Florida wrote a letter to his constituents after the Democrats stole the vote in August on illegal immigration, you remember that when they were trying to give food stamp benefits to these illegals —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and the Democrats stole the vote?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, this representative wrote a letter to his constituents, and it had your name in it, it had a quote from your program, I believe, or maybe the Limbaugh Letter, I\u2019m not sure, but the Franken Commission did not approve the letter because it had your name. That was one of the reasons, Rush. I guess your name is just too partisan for these libs up here, and they just don\u2019t want people knowing the truth.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, but, you know, this is a troubling thing. I appreciate the complimentary aspects of this, but it\u2019s a troubling thing. My name, because the Dems run the Franken Commission, actually prevented the congressman from getting his letter out to his constituents.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you\u2019re the most dangerous man in America, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but that was kind of counterproductive there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, it\u2019s really sad. You put Rush Limbaugh\u2019s name on a letter, and they\u2019re going to say, ‘Nope, you can\u2019t send that to your constituents.\u2019 It sounds like we\u2019re living in the Soviet Union or something.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, gosh, you\u2019re not the first person who said that to me, because, you know, the chilling effect here is, you guys write letters to your constituents, ‘Can I put that in there? What are they going to do to me? Can I put that in there?\u2019 In the Soviet Union the people had to go to their bathrooms and whisper when they wanted to be honest with each other, because they were so afraid. That\u2019s what happened here, political correctness, hasn\u2019t gotten that bad, you know, but it\u2019s trending in that direction. I was talking with Mr. Snerdley the other day, watching the Petraeus hearings when they started in the House with Congressman Lantos, and I was fantasizing. I would love — it might be worth becoming a congressman for just two years to get on one of these committees and just launch at these guys like I would love to when they start playing tricks like that. I would love to be called to testify as an official witness. I know that\u2019s never going to happen.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, you would be the best congressman that has ever walked the halls of the United States Congress. I mean that with all sincerity.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you\u2019re very kind. I appreciate this. You\u2019ve made my day here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Rush, I want to tell you one more thing about line standers and how Code Pink got in this hearing. I hate to hurt your accuracy ratings. Your instincts are usually right, even when they think they are wrong, but you\u2019re not entirely right about how Code Pink got in these hearings.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It was not Democrat staffers that got \u2019em in there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: The reason you thought that, Rush, is because the Dems brought Cindy Sheehan to the State of the Union address. So obviously your instincts would tell you the Dems would give VIP seats to Code Pink at these Petraeus hearings. Anybody in the public can get in these hearings. They\u2019re usually wackos. In any good hearing, Rush, the queues start the day before. You have to spend the night in the heat. You have to sit here all day and that\u2019s how you get a seat. Anyone can go, if you want to stay up all night. The only other proposition, Rush, is to pay off somebody, and there\u2019s a huge line-stander business in Washington. You can make thousands of dollars just sitting there standing in line. All these lobbyists who want to come in and hear a hearing, they aren\u2019t going to wait overnight. They\u2019re going to pay a thousand bucks to get a seat.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And deduct it. So the Code Pink babes were in that line? Staffers cannot get people into these hearings?<\/p>\n

CALLER: You have to have a staff ID badge. The staffer technically cannot — I mean, they can sneak someone in, and the Dems, if they did that it wouldn\u2019t surprise me, but, Rush, you see how they dress, they\u2019re wackos. They probably had a big party hanging out on the street at night.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I pity the people that had to sit next to them in there. It\u2019s still a swamp in Washington at this time of year. Let me ask you a question. Are the Democrats upset? I mean, I saw Ike Skelton going berserk here when the Code Pink people disrupted. They don\u2019t really mind that, do they?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, they love it. It reaches out to their wackos. It\u2019s the people who are going to vote to them in their primary. Some of them, the respectable ones, Ike is a respectable member of Congress, but some of them love it, Rush, they absolutely love it. And before I have to run, Rush, I wanted to say many of my interns were so disappointed that you do not come to speak at the intern lecture series when you were invited.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uhhhh&hellip;<\/p>\n

CALLER: You remember when you got that letter you read on the air a few months ago by Senator Feinstein?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah! (Laughing.)<\/p>\n

CALLER: I had thousands of interns up here, Rush, who could not wait to hear the Great Communicator himself, Rush Limbaugh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (Laughing.) I had forgotten about that. He\u2019s absolutely right. Senator Feinstein invited me to come speak to the Democrat freshmen. It was a form letter, obviously, but I had totally forgotten about that \u2019til you reminded me. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
