RUSH: This is Heather. Heather, your name is one of my all-time, top-ten favorite female names.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Fantastic.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, I absolutely love you. I\u2019ve been listening to you since I was a little girl, and we can thank my father because I used to get up early in the morning before school and watch your TV show, and I can remember distinctly you having when the Clintons were in office — well, ‘Clinton,\u2019 I should say, the one, but it\u2019s usually both — having Day 350 of being held hostage by the Clintons.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, day 350. We started that the first day of their term.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes. I remember that. (giggling)<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you\u2019re a Rush baby.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good!<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m 29, almost 30, and I\u2019ve been listening to you for years, so…<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate that. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER: My question is this: We know that the liberals hate this country, but what is the benefit they have to destroy this nation — socially, economically? What makes them think that they can have a monopoly again if they win an election?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the answer to that question is actually to be found in the Comprehensive Destroy the Republican Party Act of 2007, otherwise known as the illegal immigration reform act. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm?<\/p>\n

RUSH: And what was the purpose of that? See, the Democrats are running out of victims. The affluence in this country is good. We had the poverty statistics last week. The poverty in this country is not what it was. The Democrats need uneducated, unmotivated, voters. They need people to depend on them. They\u2019re going to have to create them. So the way they\u2019re going to do this — to say that they destroy the country, we\u2019ve gotta define that, because we have to be very careful here. This is an important point, and it\u2019s accurate, but when you say, ‘destroy the country,\u2019 it can cause people to be turned off and not listen to what you say. They want to remake the country. They don\u2019t like capitalism. They don\u2019t like freedom, because that\u2019s when they lose elections. When people are economically prosperous, the last thing they need is government. When they are economically prosperous and growing, the last thing they need is government programs of any kind. The Democrats are desperate to have as many people dependent on government as possible, because government is the engine of their control and view of the country. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s why they\u2019re trying to come up with all of these stealth health care plans and things, to get as many people as possible, depending on the government, for a need. Now, I happen to think health care is not a ‘need.\u2019 I think it\u2019s a ‘desire.\u2019 (But that\u2019s an argument for a different day.) You know, we all have wants and needs. The Democrats are trying to persuade as many people as possible to let them be in charge of supplying their needs, and the Democrats know that they cannot do that in a means of prosperity for everybody, so everybody will end up being in a situation of increased need without being educated or trained in order to provide for it themselves. It\u2019s about control of the population as a means of attaining total power that they can\u2019t lose, because at that point they\u2019ll never be voted out. Too many people will be dependent on them. Look at the black vote: 90% every year. Why? Well, it\u2019s what they\u2019re trying to do with the Hispanic vote. Look at the union vote. Look at the union money that comes in. You can look at their various constituency groups and find out how they planned to do it for the whole country. So it\u2019s not that they\u2019re trying to destroy it. They don\u2019t want America to stop being America. They just want to change the way it\u2019s structured. The way I put it is that they want to destroy the traditions and institutions that define this country\u2019s greatness, because they don\u2019t include liberals.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s just pretty pathetic.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it\u2019s what they\u2019re trying to do. It\u2019s what they\u2019ve been trying to do for years. This is really nothing new.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m just appalled by them, and it\u2019s embarrassing as an American to have them want to take over this country this way and to take away our rights and our freedoms and our property.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it\u2019s one of the big things. People have to understand what liberalism is. Liberalism, socialism, communism, you have to understand what it is versus conservatism. Conservatism puts total faith and confidence in the individual. ‘You go out there, pal, and do the best you can. We want to set up circumstances that make it possible for you to be the best you can be,\u2019 and we do that by getting government and regulation and obstacles out of your way. The Democrats want total control of government for the purposes of securing their power. Now, there are some Republicans like that, too. That\u2019s why I\u2019m not saying ‘Republicans and Democrats\u2019 here. I\u2019m saying ‘conservatives and liberals.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There are many liberals that are just tag-a-longs. They\u2019re liberals because it makes them feel good. They\u2019re probably outraged and shocked I\u2019m saying this because it doesn\u2019t describe them. They\u2019re being duped, just like they\u2019re being duped in the global warming hoax.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s a joke. (giggles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: It is. But you wouldn\u2019t believe the number of them that really unplug their chargers at home. I love telling these liberals what my carbon footprint is. They go bonkers when I describe it! I have the manners and character and class not to describe it for you publicly on the air because people would think I\u2019m bragging and being self-absorbed.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: But I told this one liberal once, she was getting all upset with me about the lack of concern for energy and all this, and I said, ‘Well, what do you do drive?\u2019 She said, ‘I refuse to drive a car with any more than six cylinders.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I said, ‘Well, okay. Fine, if that makes you happy. We all want to matter, and everybody thinks that they want to do something to make a difference. Just keep in mind Hitler ‘made a difference.\u2019 You have to be careful with that phrase.\u2019 <\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I said, ‘When the fuel prices started rising I ordered my pilots to throttle back to more than 485 miles an hour ground speed.\u2019 You could see them fuming. I said to this person, ‘The one thing you gotta realize is you\u2019re not saving the environment driving your little lawn mowers, and I\u2019m not destroying it.\u2019 A lot of these liberals think that they\u2019re really genuinely good people. I\u2019m talking about the people that run that show who are working in government, running for elections, trying to get more people entrenched in the bureaucracies and that kind of thing. There are a lot of liberal dupes out there. Liberalism? You talk about mind-numbed robots, those people are total sponges, and how is it that some issue like global warming has an ideological divide? Because it\u2019s just the latest liberal attempt to get control of people\u2019s lives under the guise, under the camouflage, under the mask of ‘doing something to saaaaave the planet,\u2019 and of course who wants to destroy the planet? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Ha!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, we can\u2019t anyway is the bottom line. So you gotta be really careful when you talk about how they want to destroy the nation. Although I will tell you this — I want to remind you, Heather, and everybody else — it is patently obvious now that we are going to have to defend and protect this country from foreign enemies without the Democrats, without liberals, without the Democrat Party. We\u2019re going to have to win the war in Iraq and the larger war on terror without Democrats. They aren\u2019t interested. They can\u2019t be counted on. In fact, not only are we going to have to win the war without them, we\u2019re going to have to defeat them right along with defeating our external enemies. That is a sobering, chilling thought, but it\u2019s the gospel truth. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
