CALLER: The point I\u2019d like to make is that this here seems to be a perfect example of white privilege being pushed by the Democrat media and the Democrat Party.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait. Wait, wait. Wait a minute. What is white privilege?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, white privilege is —<\/p>\n
RUSH: No, no, which incident? Are you talking about the shooting?<\/p>\n
CALLER: The shooting that has been going on for two weeks now, 24\/7. They spent all this time and effort on these 17 kids, and my heart goes out to the kids, their loved ones and families. But why don\u2019t they spend this kind of energy, time, and effort on all the inner city kids that are killed every single day? And then they talk about white privilege? They\u2019re the ones that are pushing it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Ohhhh, I see what you\u2019re saying.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I\u2019m hoping you can expand on it a little better than me. I don\u2019t have the —<\/p>\n
RUSH: You sound like you\u2019re pretty up to speed on it.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, I have my opinion. (chuckling) Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, you know, Obama says we\u2019re not all entitled to our own opinion. There used to be a common set of facts and opinions, and now people like you and me are deviating from \u2019em. Yours may not be valid depending on who\u2019s listening.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Perhaps you and I like to think for ourselves.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, here\u2019s my guess as to what he\u2019s talking about. We keep hearing from the left — and it\u2019s big on college campi now. There is an attack on “white privilege,” which is basically an attack on white Christianity, if you really want to know what it\u2019s about. If you want to know what that\u2019s about, it\u2019s an attack on the founding of this country as unjust and immoral. And there are college courses now being taught to white people how to recognize their own white privilege, how it\u2019s a bad thing.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an unfair thing and we\u2019ve got to wipe it out. White privilege has led to all kinds of obvious racism and discrimination and so forth. So the people who are constantly accusing people of benefiting from white privilege are now themselves, in his view, engaging in it by focusing all this attention on this one shooting. What he\u2019s saying is, “These people are spending an inordinate amount of time on white kids being killed, but they don\u2019t spend anywhere near the amount of time on African-American or minority kids being killed.”<\/p>\n
In fact, if you dare to bring up someplace like Chicago or Baltimore in the middle of this discussion, then the Democrats and the left and the media tar and feather you with attempting to distract and so forth. His point is, aren\u2019t they engaging in their own white privilege? In fact, who was it? There was an actress or it might have been some lunatic that appeared on The View.<\/p>\n
Some woman said much the same thing, that all the attention here is an example of white privilege. She was being critical of it. Who was it? Who was it? Who was…? Oh! It was Nicolle Wallace, the former… She was in the George W. Bush communications office, and she said that we wouldn\u2019t be spending anywhere near this kind of time if the 17 kids dead were black. That\u2019s what she said. She was racial virtue signaling, and it was the most incredible comment. It was on MSNBC.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s the kind of comment that you make to try to establish your bona fides with liberals as a sensitive person. “Don\u2019t think of me… Even though I\u2019m a Republican, don\u2019t think of me as one! Don\u2019t think of me as a conservative.” So you go out and you say, “If these 17 kids had been black, why, we wouldn\u2019t even be spending any time on it.” It\u2019s what she said. So that was her definition of white privilege. But that it was the media engaging in it, which…<\/p>\n
Anyway, if it\u2019s confusing to you, don\u2019t worry about it; it is confusing \u2019cause it\u2019s stupid. It\u2019s silly. The people that think this way are not all there, people that think with skin color first and think with gender first and sexual identity first, all these things. And they\u2019re the ones that tell us that they\u2019re colorblind and tolerant and so forth, and they\u2019re the first ones… They judge people on the color of their skin and their sexual orientation, their gender and everything else.<\/p>\n
