CALLER: Hi, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know if you mentioned this before on your show, but \u201924\u2019 is going green. They have claimed that their season finale for season seven will be carbon neutral, and there\u2019s a clip with Kiefer Sutherland on the Internet on their official website.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — that says that if global warming —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and global climate change is an important issue.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yada yada yada. Well, what\u2019s going on? I mean —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, what\u2019s going on here is two things, but chief among them is that the shoddy journalism, typical of the Drive-By Media, has misreported the story. And that\u2019s why you think the episodes are going green, the content of the episodes. They are not. Kiefer Sutherland, Jack Bauer is not going to be driving around in hybrids. He\u2019s not going to be shooting SUVs or any of that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (Laughs.)<\/p>\n

RUSH: What\u2019s happened is that Rupert Murdoch and the executives at Fox have issued a studio-wide directive on all Fox shows that the production must be carbon neutral. So they\u2019re going to change some lightbulbs and they\u2019re going to buy some carbon credits. It won\u2019t affect the content of any Fox show. It\u2019s just a PR move that\u2019s designed to say to the audience, ‘We care. We\u2019re worried about global warming. We\u2019re doing our part and so forth. We don\u2019t care if it\u2019s a hoax. We know that a lot of you suckers might believe it, and so we might be able to get a half of a rating point out of loyalty from you watching our shows if you think that we\u2019re not contributing to global warming.\u2019 The content will have nothing to do with what the reporting of this story led you to believe. I\u2019m sure in fear, you thought, ‘My God, they\u2019re going to ruin my show!\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: (chuckles) Well, yeah. I mean, will that reflect at all on their politics?<\/p>\n
