RUSH: Linda in Dallas. Linda, glad you waited. Welcome to the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, you were talking about Hillary this morning, you know, mucking it up with the nurses?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I know that I heard it on your program back when she was trying to get her original health care, she was speaking to a group of nurses, and one of the nurses spoke up and said, ‘Well, if you do that, some of us nurses are going to lose our jobs.\u2019 And she said, ‘You will just have to find another profession.\u2019 So why are they being so nice to her now?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, because we\u2019ve got audio of this coming, I don\u2019t have a chance — this is 48 seconds, and I\u2019m not going to have a chance to answer your question and play the audio, so I\u2019ll play the audio after the break.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But the reason they\u2019re being nice to her now is because her plan\u2019s not on the table.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Number one. It will be back on the table. By the way, that plan, folks, the Hillary health care plan — doctors and nurses are going to be told where — they were going to be assigned to cities and even specific hospitals, and that\u2019s what nurses said, ‘Well, we\u2019ll lose our job. We can\u2019t do that.\u2019 ‘Well, then find a new profession.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. She said that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. Well, what\u2019s changed is that plan\u2019s off the table, everybody thinks, and the nurses are unionized, and she\u2019s the chosen candidate of big labor.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I tried to find it on the computer. I looked and looked and looked and looked and I thought, ‘Well, I\u2019ve got to call Rush and remind him of this.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m glad you did. I\u2019ll never forget that whole health care plan. It was just — Elizabeth — what was her name? Oh, she married Wilbur Ross. I can\u2019t think of the name. Elizabeth McCaughey, she dissected that thing from front to back, and it was worse than what the Soviet Union did to people.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, Mrs. Clinton. I have two things. We have some audio sound bites here, but first: ‘Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton cites her experience,\u2019 doesn\u2019t she? She\u2019s running for the presidency. She ‘cites her experience,\u2019 as first lady, ‘as a compelling reason voters should make her president,\u2019 so why does she have locked up in the Clinton Library and Massage Parlor ‘nearly 2 million pages of documents covering her White House years\u2019? They\u2019re ‘locked up in a building [in Little Rock] obscuring a large swath of her record as first lady. Clinton\u2019s calendars, appointment logs and memos are stored at her husband\u2019s\u2019 Library and Massage Parlor ‘in the custody of federal archivists who do not expect them to be released until after the 2008 presidential election. A trove of records has been made public detailing the Clinton White House\u2019s attempts to remake the nation\u2019s healthcare system, following a request from Bill Clinton that those materials be released first. Hillary Clinton led the healthcare effort in 1993 and 1994. But even in the healthcare documents, at least 1,000 pages involving her work has been censored by archives staff because they include confidential advice and must be kept secret under a federal law called the Presidential Records Act,\u2019 and that\u2019s a genuine, true law, but remember: it didn\u2019t apply to Dick Cheney, did it, in his meeting on energy? Oh, no! This stuff never applies to Republicans. ‘Oh, Mrs. Clinton has a perfect right under the Presidential Records Act. Why, we can\u2019t do this!\u2019 <\/p>\n

So, anyway, isn\u2019t it a little strange? The Clintons hide more things… They had the FBI files. We never got his medical records. Now Hillary\u2019s covering up over two million pages, hiding, of her record as first lady while out there running on ‘experience.\u2019 Folks, we just have to take her word for it, which I\u2019m sure is good enough for some people. All right, to the audio sound bites. On the Today show today, this a montage of correspondent Andrea Mitchell and co-host Meredith Vieira reporting on candidate Hillary Clinton being a nurse for a day.<\/p>\n

MITCHELL: (background noise) Health care is one of Hillary Clinton\u2019s biggest mistakes. So what better way to respond than to work a day in the shoes of a hospital nurse. Learning the ropes from Nurse Michelle Estrada at St. Rose Hospital in Henderson, Nevada, part of a critical makeover for a candidate far out front in national polls but still viewed in a new CNN\/Gallup poll as less likable than Barack Obama. It is very rare, of course, for a presidential candidate to show up and spend so much time on one visit, putting on a nurse\u2019s lab coat. <\/p>\n

VIEIRA: I understand that she ended the day, the senator, by actually washing the dishes before she left; is that right?<\/p>\n

MITCHELL: She did! She pitched right in! She was clearing the table, washing the dishes, helping, uh, set the table. She got her hands wet! And it was a rare moment for a presidential candidate spending, as I say, hours and hours on this one visit.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really? Are you not curious at all, Andrea, as to why she would do this? No! We just marvel at the fact that she did it. ‘Oh, isn\u2019t she unique! Oh, isn\u2019t she different? Why, she spent the whole day with the nurses and she washed the dishes! What a woman,\u2019 girl, guy, whatever she\u2019s trying to be, according to Elizabeth Edwards. She\u2019s in there because nurses have full memory and knowledge of this disastrous health care plan of hers, plus she\u2019s being loyal to union employees. So after this setup they talked to Mrs. Clinton, Andrea Mitchell interviewed Hillary, and she said, ‘Karl Rove, with a parting shot, said that you are ‘fatally flawed\u2019 as a candidate.\u2019<\/p>\n

HILLARY: Well, ‘Aren\u2019t we glad to see him go?\u2019 I think, is the answer to that. You know, I am thrilled to be running this campaign and to be getting the response that I\u2019m getting all over the country.<\/p>\n

MITCHELL: And there was an Associated Press report quoting Democrats, saying that you might pull down the ticket.<\/p>\n

HILLARY: Well, I\u2019m ahead, and I\u2019m winning, and I\u2019m gaining support everywhere I go, and I don\u2019t think I have any right to anybody\u2019s vote. I have to earn every vote and that\u2019s what I\u2019m doing every day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mmm-hmm. She did not answer the question, ladies and gentlemen. Actually, she does think she\u2019s entitled to everybody\u2019s vote. That\u2019s a hallmark of being a liberal. Their birthright is power. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
