CALLER: Dittos, Rush. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m great, sir. Thanks.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. I stand before you corrected. I fell into the trap. Last week when those several Marines who were pilloried for being part of the massacre in Haditha —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — were let go, because, guess what? No evidence, except, of course, the ravings of people who were terrorists. I kept waiting for Congressman Murtha to step to the microphone and say, ‘You know when I called these guys ‘murderers,\u2019 I may have overstated it,\u2019 and when I was listening to that caller a couple of callers ago that wanted to know why Colin Powell wasn\u2019t held to account, it really clicked in my head. No one is going to hold these people to account unless individual conservatives and people of like mind step forward and use the weapons that are at our disposal, and those weapons are the telephone, the e-mail, personal visits to people\u2019s offices. In other words, even though most of us are busy with real jobs —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — we have to find time to do the hard work of saving our country. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, maybe that\u2019s melodramatic, but I think it\u2019s as simple as that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I agree. You keep working. I\u2019m handling the job of saving the country. I really got it handled. If I need help, I\u2019ll call for it, but you know, I ripped Murtha last Friday. I ripped this whole thing. I ripped the whole thing. Did you hear it? Is that what you\u2019re calling about? I know you were going to call and ask me why I didn\u2019t talk about it, but…<\/p>\n

CALLER: Unfortunately, I didn\u2019t hear it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Well, it was powerful. It\u2019s too bad. I think it would still be on the site. I did that Friday, right? So it would still be probably at RushLimbaugh.com, and you don\u2019t have to be a subscriber. It\u2019s on the free side of the website. You can at least get an idea. You won\u2019t be able listen to it; you\u2019ll be able to read the transcript<\/a>. I unloaded on this whole thing, and I wondered, ‘Where is Murtha\u2019s apology? Where are people asking him?\u2019 You\u2019re exactly right. Democrats are not going to be held accountable, whether it\u2019s Dianne Feinstein shoveling money to companies her husband has financial interest in, or whatever it is. They are not going to be held accountable. They\u2019re the good guys. They\u2019re on the good team as far as the Drive-Bys are concerned. It\u2019s like Karl Rove. How long do you think it will be before NBC or CBS or ABC offer him a job as a political analyst with his own show on Sunday morning? How long do you think it will be? How long do you think it will be before he ends up like James Carville or Paul Begala as steady commentators like they are on CNN? They\u2019re former Clinton, Inc., guys — and maybe in The Forehead\u2019s case, still is; I don\u2019t know. You have Stephanopoulos over at ABC. Rick Kaplan, best friend of the Clintons, spent a lot of nights in the Lincoln Bedroom and is now running the CBS Evening News. When\u2019s this stuff going to happen? It isn\u2019t. It isn\u2019t going to happen. I appreciate the call, Carl. Thanks very much. <\/p>\n

CALLER: First of all, I\u2019m very honored to speak to you, but I also told your call screener that maybe I shouldn\u2019t because I\u2019m very angry at you right now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, no. What did I do?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think maybe I didn\u2019t hear you, but I think when that guy called in about Murtha, that you told him you were saving the country and we didn\u2019t need to bother to fax or e-mail or send Murtha any censoring kind of e-mails because of what he had done about the Haditha Marines.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m going to pull a Bill Clinton here and deny it. You didn\u2019t hear me right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I never said it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Just a few minutes ago?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Didn\u2019t happen.<\/p>\n
