CALLER: Hey, Rush, thanks for taking my call.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I just want to take a minute to go over a few things with a bunch of callers because I still hear people saying, “Oh, what\u2019s the big deal with illegal immigration? In June I got hit head on by an illegal immigrant, no driver\u2019s license, no insurance —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Hold on a minute. I\u2019m losing you. You want to go over a few things, a bunch of callers saying what\u2019s the big deal with illegal immigration —<\/p>\n
CALLER: I hear people still saying what\u2019s the big deal about illegal immigration.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Not here.<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, not on your program. I apologize. But I still hear people talking about it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh. Okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And I say to them, you know, in June I got hit head on by an illegal immigrant. I had to have surgery. Of course he had no driver\u2019s license, no insurance, no identification at all, but I\u2019ve been out eight months now without working, unable to work. Hopefully I\u2019m going back to work at the end of April, beginning of May, but it\u2019s just — you know, and I live in this great sanctuary state of Connecticut where we don\u2019t do anything to the illegals. They\u2019re allowed to stay here, but they don\u2019t have to follow the rules. And, you know, I was among the mind-set of, oh, what\u2019s the big deal, they\u2019re here trying to make their lives better. Well, when they ruin yours, hopefully people will wake up before it happens to them as well.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, your case is an example. The Kate Steinle case, that\u2019s murder, that\u2019s another example. Whenever these examples happen, what do you hear advocates for illegal immigrants say? “It\u2019s unfair! It\u2019s unfair to characterize them all this way. It\u2019s unfair to characterize them because anybody could have hit your car. It just happened to be an illegal immigrant.”<\/p>\n
CALLER: But the difference is, Rush, if you or I did it and we didn\u2019t have a driver\u2019s license and insurance, where would we be?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, you wouldn\u2019t have the car unless you had stolen it or broken some other law. I get your point. We are held far more accountable to existing law than illegal immigrants are. Of course, by definition, they\u2019re here illegally, and they\u2019re not held accountable.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Luckily, I have friends and supportive family to help me through this because can you take nine months off without pay? Most Americans can\u2019t.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Nope. They cannot.<\/p>\n
CALLER: So.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I totally sympathize with your situation. (chuckling) Snerdley keeps trying to goad me here into a discussion of something that I put the brakes on here. But, anyway, I\u2019m very sympathetic to your situation. I marvel. You know, these instances, unfortunately, are all too frequent. It seems to me that in doing show prep I run across this story or a variation of it at least twice a week, where an illegal immigrant has been involved in a serious accident or crime, and it\u2019s not an accidental crime. It\u2019s a violent crime or whatever.<\/p>\n
And then I\u2019m treated to “immigrant advocates” saying it\u2019s unfair to lump these people into the great universe of illegal immigrants we\u2019re talking about. In fact, I\u2019ll tell you, I actually think… Let me find it here. I think this whole thing is about to fall apart on the left. Well, let me say, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s about to fall apart, but I think it could, because I think the illegal immigrant universe is cracking. It is not unified, and the evidence for it is a story that I found today in the… Let\u2019s see. What\u2019s…? I think it\u2019s the… Yeah, it\u2019s the Los Angeles Times.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s an amazing story about an illegal immigrant, a bunch of \u2019em who have been here 30 years, who are fed up hearing about the DACA kids. They\u2019re fed up with having anybody care only about the DREAMers. They\u2019re fed up with a bunch of young illegals who want to come here and do nothing but get on entitlement rolls. They\u2019re fed up with it. The illegals that have been here 30 years, in their minds, they\u2019ve paid their dues, and they should be granted amnesty if anybody is first. And they should be the… They\u2019ve been working, they\u2019ve been paying taxes, and here come these DREAMers kids and here come these DACA kids — and they\u2019re being very open about how they resent all of the attention the kids are getting.<\/p>\n

“It isn\u2019t fair, it isn\u2019t right,” and some people are interpreting this as a fissure as developed between with the two different groups in the illegal alien camp. I suspect that\u2019s not what\u2019s the ultimate objective. Do you think the LA Times is covering this because they\u2019re eager to report on a riff between the illegal aliens old and young? This is ultimately going to be the way a push is made for complete amnesty for everybody. What\u2019s gonna happen is, “You know, this guy\u2019s got a point. Why are we focusing on the DREAMers when we could be granting amnesty to everybody!”<\/p>\n
