CALLER: Rush, mega dittos.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019d like to start off by saying hello to my nephew who is in Fallujah. But then I would like to tell you that after all this talk of the Fairness Doctrine, I picked up my copy of the National Association of Letter Carriers magazine, and inside were all the presidential candidates, all five of them. There wasn\u2019t a Republican to be found. They were all Democrats, and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, of course! It\u2019s a union!<\/p>\n

CALLER: I understand that, but you would think that they would at least go to the Republicans and say, ‘What are your views on these five topics that we have here?\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, the Republicans don\u2019t have any views that are worth anything, no, no, no. You\u2019re looking for, quote, unquote, fairness and balance here, and you only find that at the Fox News Channel.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Rush, there are a lot of us letter carriers out here that are conservative, so they\u2019re not getting their message across, if that\u2019s what they\u2019re trying to do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Who, the Republicans aren\u2019t, or the Democrats aren\u2019t?<\/p>\n

CALLER: The Democrats.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look at you. You\u2019re a conservative Republican letter carrier, you\u2019ve got a lot of them out there, you open the magazine that you get, it just makes you mad. It\u2019s not going to make you more prone to support these guys. This is where the Democrats are missing the boat. They think that they can hide from you the fact that there are Republican candidates. It\u2019s what I mean, they think they\u2019re stupid. They think you\u2019re not going to notice this. They think they can put these five candidates in there, little summarizes on these issues, and you\u2019re going to sit there and soak it up like a sponge.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I would like to thank you so much for your hosting the EIB school, and you have a wonderful day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You do the same. Thanks. I really appreciate that. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. Well, you asked a question a short time ago, I think, out of the field of Democratic nominee hopefuls, who would you pick?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, who would you vote for.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t think you said vote for, but I don\u2019t want to get into that argument with you. You\u2019re too smart for me on that point. But what I want to say is, I would put the question a different way, is who would I pick to go against? And I think, you know, give us your best, as a competitor, give us your best shot. If it\u2019s Hillary, that\u2019s fine, let\u2019s go up against her with our ideas and if they don\u2019t win, then we\u2019ve got a real litmus test, a real report card on where the state of the GOP and the American public is at this point. If we can\u2019t claim that we own the knowledge about what the American people feel maybe it will be a wakeup call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What you\u2019re saying is, let\u2019s say I\u2019m the coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and I\u2019m in the Super Bowl, and I say, ‘I want the best opponent. I don\u2019t want some wild card team, some cellar dweller. I want to go up against the very best because I want to prove my team is the best.\u2019 So you think Hillary is the best and will be the best test for the Republicans in finding out where we really stand?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I didn\u2019t think I said she was the best, but if she is the best, if that\u2019s the one —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait. On what basis did you then select her as the opponent? Do you think she\u2019s the most easily beatable, or the toughest to beat and that\u2019s why you want us to run against her?<\/p>\n

CALLER: She might be the toughest to beat.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Might be the toughest. Well, you\u2019re right about that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I mean, just based on the amount of —<\/p>\n

RUSH: See, it\u2019s a moot point, because it isn\u2019t going to be any of these other people. It isn\u2019t going to be Obama. It isn\u2019t going to be Edwards. It isn\u2019t going to be Gravel, any of these other people. It\u2019s going to be Hillary, so the nature of my question was, is there anybody you would vote for to lead the country?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (Silence)<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, obviously not. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m speechless.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s no Democrat candidate in the list that a thinking, engaged person would possibly support.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re right about that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, here\u2019s the thing. Don\u2019t take this personally, but I understand you want to go up against the best and so forth, to see what we\u2019re made of, biggest test. It\u2019s a little bit like a Miss America Pageant contestant answer, because, yeah, of course we want to find out what we\u2019re made of, but we ought to know what we\u2019re made of. Going up against Clinton, Inc., is not exactly a level playing field. Clinton war room, all these other things. But, look, it is going to be her. Let me do another test. Quick little test here. What is Mrs. Clinton\u2019s position on the war in Iraq? (interruption) Snerdley, my gosh. My gosh, are you on today? You hadn\u2019t felt good yesterday, I could tell, but you are really on today. Snerdley\u2019s answer was, ‘Which one?\u2019 If you answered ‘what year are you talking about,\u2019 you get one point. If I ask you the question, what is her position on the war, and you said, ‘What year are you talking about, Rush?\u2019 you get one point. If you answered, ‘What day are you talking about?\u2019 you get three points. And if you answer, ‘It depends on what hour of the day you are talking about,\u2019 then you really, really, really understand her war policy, and you get five points. So I think we put you in the three point category. You said ‘which one?\u2019 correctly answering that there are multiple positions, depending on what she needs it to be that hour. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
