They\u2019re Busy Investigating Trump"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: Here is, by the way, a couple of sound bites from CNN earlier today with Jake Tapper. He talked to the &#8220;vlogger&#8221; on YouTube, Ben Bennight about a comment appearing to be from a Nikolas Cruz that was left on one of the videos he posted last year. Tapper says, &#8220;What did you do when you saw the comment on the video that you posted?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4RcX7N05ilc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>BENNIGHT: When I see the comment come through my push notifications in YouTube studio, it caught my attention. So I screenshotted it so I could share with the FBI; then I reported it to YouTube as a spam. And of course when you do that, they take the comment down, and then I contacted the FBI. They responded pretty immediately. I had a field agent contact me and meet me at my office the very next morning. He took down the information.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: So this is the guy that told the FBI about Nikolas Cruz\u2019s comments &#8212; who, by the way, Nikolas Cruz yesterday was a Latino kid living in Florida. Today he\u2019s a &#8220;white Hispanic&#8221; in the Drive-By Media. I kid you not. (laughing) He\u2019s a &#8220;white Hispanic&#8221; in the Drive-By Media. (laughing) I\u2019m not kidding, folks. Yesterday he was Latino. After the shooting he\u2019s become a white guy. So Tapper then says, &#8220;Ben, what\u2019s your response to the FBI today talking about how they were not able to identify the person who posted that comment that you told them about?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>BENNIGHT: Well, I think in today\u2019s online word it is very difficult to narrow down who does what without more information, and unfortunately I wasn\u2019t able to provide them with much.<\/p>\n<p>TAPPER: Well, you gave them the user\u2019s name, right, which is the same exact name of the shooter?<\/p>\n<p>BENNIGHT: I did. I did. And I don\u2019t know what the process is to go through these companies to get specific user information.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-264649\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/APP-021518-FBI.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/APP-021518-FBI.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/APP-021518-FBI-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: So he gave them the actual name of the guy who posted the comment &#8212; the promise, the threat &#8212; to do this, Nikolas Cruz, white Hispanic. And the FBI didn\u2019t do anything with it. So Bennight here, the guy you heard on the audio, said, &#8220;I don\u2019t know what the FBI has to do to track down real identities. First they\u2019d call YouTube and then YouTube would have to divulge the privacy of whoever sent the alerted and all of this,&#8221; but they still had the real name to go on. But, folks, we need to back off the FBI here just a little bit.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI is really busy right now. They\u2019re busy, I\u2019m sure, tracking the entire Trump administration looking for additional sexual harassers. I mean, there may be as many as 4,000 of \u2019em in there they gotta track down. And then they\u2019re still trying to corroborate the Steele dossier. And that\u2019s a worldwide effort. So the FBI has spread its resources here very, very thin, and we\u2019ve gotta keep that in mind.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Need to get this in the mix. This was late yesterday afternoon on the CBS 4 Eyeball News Miami, an unidentified student speaking to an unidentified infobabe about the Florida shooting suspect, Nikolas Cruz, and you\u2019ll hear the reporter in this bite too.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-264690\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-15-at-3.23.38-PM-1024x468.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-15-at-3.23.38-PM-1024x468.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-15-at-3.23.38-PM-300x137.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-15-at-3.23.38-PM-768x351.png 768w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-15-at-3.23.38-PM-1080x493.png 1080w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Screen-Shot-2018-02-15-at-3.23.38-PM.png 1086w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>STUDENT: When he got kicked out I believe he was a Junior, I could say. I\u2019m not sure. Either that or he was a Sophomore.<\/p>\n<p>REPORTER: You were expecting this?<\/p>\n<p>STUDENT: Honestly, a lot of people were saying that it was going to be him, stuff like that. We actually, we threw, a lot of kids threw jokes around like that, saying that he was going to be the one to shoot up the school. But it turns out, you know, everyone predicted it. That\u2019s crazy.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/students-predicted-nikolas-cruz-would-shoot-up-florida-high-school-2018-2\">Everyone predicted it<\/a>. &#8220;A lot of kids threw jokes around like that saying he was gonna be the one to shoot up the school. But it turns out, you know, everyone predicted it.&#8221; See, this just adds to the frustration in the aftermath. What do you mean, everybody predicted it, everybody knew it? What does that mean? Well, it depends, but everybody knew about it, but nobody stopped it.<\/p>\n<p>You know what I have to think? We have in this country, we have security experts all over the place. And I would wager that even though we haven\u2019t seen them, I\u2019ll bet you there have been countless proposals, ideas to secure schools in circumstances like this, and they obviously have been rejected.<\/p>\n<p>I mean, nothing ever changes. This is just an endless loop. And you can count on one hand the number of minutes it\u2019s gonna be from the first news reports to some politician getting on TV yapping about guns.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Another student was on with Brian Williams, PMSNBC.&#8221; He said, &#8220;Banning guns just creates a higher demand. It will not prevent school shootings. That was Brandon Minhoff, a student at the school shooting. He was interviewed by Brian Williams.<\/p>\n<p>Williams asked the kid what he would do about school shootings if he were a lawmaker. He said, &#8220;Gun-wise, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any way to prevent it. You outlaw guns, it only creates higher demand for them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So what was your reaction when you heard that it was him?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I wasn\u2019t surprised. It was unfortunate to hear.&#8221; More and more people, unsurprised. The guy said he was gonna do it. FBI, by the way, admits that they were warned, audio sound bite number 4. This is in Florida this morning at a press conference about the shooting. FBI special agent in charge, Rob Lasky.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-264719 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/FLorida-Shooting-Suspect-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/FLorida-Shooting-Suspect-002.jpg 320w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/FLorida-Shooting-Suspect-002-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>LASKY: In 2017, the FBI received information about a comment made on a YouTube channel. The comment simply said, &#8220;I\u2019m going to be a professional school shooter.&#8221; No other information was included with that comment, which would indicate a time, location, or the true identity of the person who made the comment. The FBI conducted database reviews, checks, but was unable to further identify the person who actually made the comment.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: A-ha. So they were unable to identify the person that made the comment. Well, the person that claimed to be making the comment was Nikolas Cruz. The FBI here is saying they looked at all the databases and the checks. They were unable to further able identify the person who made the comments. So it might not have actually been Cruz who made the comment. But they\u2019re admitting they were warned, that somebody said they were gonna do this. They just couldn\u2019t track down who.<\/p>\n<p>Folks, if you\u2019re thinking about committing a crime and you want to evade capture, make sure you have no connection to the Trump dossier, and your odds of getting away with it are vastly enhanced, I would think. I\u2019m saying that a bit in jest. But folks, look, they knew and they weren\u2019t able to find the guy. They\u2019ve been looking for two years for evidence to corroborate the Steele dossier, and they haven\u2019t found anything there.<\/p>\n<p>Fran Townsend. She was in the Bush administration. She was a counterterrorism adviser to George W. Bush. She was on CBS This Morning today talking to Gayle King, the BFF of The Oprah. And she had an analogy that she wanted to make.<\/p>\n<p>TOWNSEND: When we think of Homeland Security, we think of terrorism issues, we think of national disasters. We don\u2019t think of school shootings. And, you know, right now, when you think of this, this is the 18th school shooting this year. Last year this time we had seven.<\/p>\n<p>KING: Should we rethink Homeland Security? Because it sure feels like terrorism to me. It hurts as badly. It\u2019s just as terrible. Do we need to rethink what Homeland Security really means?<\/p>\n<p>TOWNSEND: I think that\u2019s exactly right, Gayle. I mean, imagine for a moment if the shooter had been a Muslim, we\u2019d be having a different kind of &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>KING: It would be a different conversation.<\/p>\n<p>TOWNSEND: That\u2019s exactly right. And how wrong does that feel.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Wait a minute. What? If the shooter had been Muslim, what would be different? Oh, we\u2019d be calling it terrorism? No, we wouldn\u2019t! No, we sure as hell wouldn\u2019t. If the shooter was Muslim, we\u2019d all be warned about about the backlash against Muslims. It wouldn\u2019t be called terrorism. We\u2019d have the FBI and law enforcement and members of Congress out there admonishing all of us to believe it was not terrorism. That\u2019s what would be happening if the shooter was Muslim.<\/p>\n<p>Man, look at the prejudice that exists even among people at the highest levels. I mean, Fran Townsend was really high-ranking, Homeland Security, counterterrorism. She\u2019s no slouch. And yet she throws in this comment, &#8220;Well, imagine if the shooter had been a Muslim.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Now, I know the conversation is about terrorism. Gayle King thinks this is terrorizing, this is terrorism. Yeah. But imagine if the shooter was Muslim. If the shooter was Muslim, everybody in government would be trying to tell us that we didn\u2019t see what we saw and that it wasn\u2019t what we thought it was.
