Motherland, where taxes were high and that\u2019s why national disasters never happened. The government withheld 95% of the people\u2019s income and that\u2019s why in the USSR bridges never fell, levees never broke, and Chernobyl reactors never exploded, if you know what I\u2019m saying.RUSH: Well, I do, that\u2019s very funny, thanks for the call.CALLER: You\u2019re welcome. I now live in America, but I keep the memory of the old country alive on my satirical website which you mentioned on Monday when you referenced what you said was ‘a great editorial cartoon.\u2019<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: It was. This is the one with the Founding Fathers discussing creating a nation —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — of murderers, thugs, tyrants, spreading disease, destroying the planet and all that, and then stealing all the world\u2019s oil?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That was such a great cartoon, Oleg.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The satire in that, you know, the great thing about comedy which you captured in that cartoon is that good comedy has to have an element of truth in it, and the element of truth in your cartoon is that there are gobs and loads of Americans who believe that that\u2019s what the purpose of this country is, and that we had some corrupt founders that actually set it up. They are actually Americans that believe it, and that\u2019s why it was funny.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. Well, a lot of it on my website is funny. You said that you didn\u2019t know who did the cartoon, so I decided to fix that historical mistake because you are the all knowing Maha Rushie.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the problem is that somebody sent it to me with just the picture of the cartoon. I have tried to tell people, if you\u2019re going to send me something you think I might like, send me the link, so, A, I can say verify it, and, B, put on my website and cite the source. It is something I am constantly having to pound over the heads of my staff. It happens every day. They forget to send links and yours unfortunately was one of those where the link was not sent.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That is okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But we found it for the website.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Did you find it?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think we did, I think Koko was looking desperately for it. I was unable to provide any help because the person that sent it to me didn\u2019t send the link.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It is ThePeoplesCube.com<\/a>. A lot of people already know about it, but I thought the mention would not hurt. It\u2019s a parody site working under the slogan: ‘Curing weak liberalism with strong communism,\u2019 it\u2019s sort of like a Stalinist version of The Onion.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (Laughing.) A Stalinist version of The Onion. (Laughing.) Curing weak liberalism&hellip;<\/p>\n

CALLER: That cartoon is a sample.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, so it\u2019s www.ThePeoplesCube.com.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, in about 30 seconds, Oleg, your site will be shut down. This audience is making such a mad dash to get to it right now if your server farm is not capable of the load that it\u2019s going to get, as a result of your site being broadcast on this program, then it will actually look like a denial of service attack, it really isn\u2019t. We shut down websites constantly when they get mentioned on this program. It\u2019s not the KGB coming after you, it\u2019s not Putin.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (Laughing.) Right. We are the party ourselves. On the website, we have our own party, we have our own politburo members, and we have discussions, you know, planning and plotting.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This sounds cool. I love satire. I love parody.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Especially with people who don\u2019t get it. That\u2019s the most fun is when they don\u2019t get it and they really get upset, really get irritated, really get riled, that\u2019s what it\u2019s fun, because they eventually will figure it out.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I have a lot of enemies already because of that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, learn to take as a measure of success the criticism of your enemies. That is a fundamental thing that people like you in controversial businesses have to learn how to do. Take as a measure of success the hatred, the actual despising of you that they have. Okay, I think I\u2019ve shaken Oleg up here a little bit. It won\u2019t be that bad. It won\u2019t be that bad. RUSH: You know, Oleg from the Motherland, the former Soviet Union, Russia? Do you know what the average life expectancy today is for the Russian male? Take a stab what do you think it is. It\u2019s 57! What is the current population of Russia? Take a stab. Take a wild guess. This is Russia now, not all those former Soviet satellite bloc nations. This is just the motherland. It\u2019s 140 million. Do you know what the estimated Russian population will be 20, 30, 40 years from now? It\u2019ll be 100 million. The average male life span is 57. They are losing population. They have runaway alcohol problems and AIDS, needles and AIDS. This is one of the reasons why Vladimir Putin is running around beating his chest all over the world, because Russia ain\u2019t what it was, and he knows it, and he knows that people don\u2019t have the same fear. So he\u2019s trying to insert himself into as many of these world situations so that Russia will be a respected power. (Plus he\u2019s KGB.) He\u2019s got an inferiority complex.<\/p>\n

Do you know what the biggest problem in China is? No, seriously. What is the biggest problem in China? No, let me rephrase that. When the leader of China, Hu Jintao, gets up every morning, what is his biggest challenge? No, it\u2019s not the environmental pollution of his country. It\u2019s the fact that he has to create 25 million jobs a year because he needs those billions that don\u2019t live in the cities to stay the hell out of them, and if they can\u2019t find jobs out in the hinterlands, they\u2019re going to come to the cities, and he will lose control of his population, and when you are a ChiCom, maintaining control of your population is fundamental. That\u2019s fundamental if you\u2019re a communist. He\u2019s already losing control because of the exportation of capitalism. He needs it. Twenty-five million jobs a year, he has create, or the Chinese economy has to create. Now, traditional communism can\u2019t do this. Under communism, people work for the state. If you don\u2019t work you get paid a little bit. You starve. You go to the grocery store, there\u2019s nothing there. If you say the wrong thing they come kill you, wipe you out — and look what\u2019s happened in the old Soviet Union, Russia, its situation.<\/p>\n

The Chinese are not going to let that happen and that\u2019s why they\u2019re doing as much as they can on the capitalist front. What you say when he wakes up in the morning, the biggest challenge for Kim Jong Il is? Staying alive. He doesn\u2019t care about feeding his population. He\u2019s different from the ChiComs. He doesn\u2019t care about feeding his population. Anyway, these are just things that people don\u2019t look at in a certain perspective. I\u2019ll illustrate the point about China, from the Christian Science Monitor. ‘It\u2019s a parent\u2019s nightmare: a routine vaccination gone wrong. For Liang Yongli, whose bright-eyed daughter suffered brain damage and paralysis after a mandatory shot, it triggered a four-year search for compensation, justice, and an explanation. He tried to sue the hospital for malpractice, and lost. Medical authorities in southern Guangdong province said there was no link between the vaccination and his child\u2019s condition. So he took his campaign to the media and traveled thousands of miles to Beijing,\u2019 to the city, ‘by bicycle to petition the central government, without success. Then in April,\u2019 of all things, ‘a court accepted a lawsuit filed by Mr. Liang together with the parents of two other children who had also fallen ill. The suit alleges that vaccines were to blame in all of the cases.\u2019<\/p>\n

This is China we\u2019re talking about, the ChiComs! Ten years ago this guy would be shot for bringing a complaint to the government that a poor vaccine wiped out his kid, and they\u2019d shoot the kid, too. ‘Last week, the court began hearing the case against provincial and city health agencies and a state-owned drug company, based on laws concerning product safety and inspection…. While consumer activism is on the increase in China, the legal system isn\u2019t bound by precedent and is squarely under the control of the Communist Party,\u2019 the ChiComs. ‘That makes it hard to force change from the bottom up, though not impossible.\u2019 This is the last line of the piece: ‘The government wants a ‘harmonious society\u2019. How can they abandon their children and do nothing?\u2019 asks the girl\u2019s father: ‘How can they abandon their children and do nothing?\u2019 Well, their definition of a ‘harmonious society\u2019 is placated, satisfied people who stay put out in the hinterlands and the country, and don\u2019t show up and cause trouble like this. But, see, the genie is out of the bottle over there. I don\u2019t care what they\u2019re making right now in the shoe shops and the iPhone shops. I don\u2019t care what they\u2019re making. The fact of the matter is that there\u2019s a capitalist bubble that is gumming up from the bottom.<\/p>\n
