CALLER: I\u2019m so glad to talk to you. My uncle turned me on to you probably 15 years ago and I\u2019m finally calling for the first time and getting through.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s a wonderful day. I wanted to say I have 12 points, I know it sounds like a lot, but I\u2019ll make them very short, about why I think this one candidate who\u2019s there lurking in the scenes and nobody seems to recognize him, the perfect guy who\u2019s — he\u2019s not a clone of Reagan, but I think he —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me guess. Let me guess. Let me guess. Let me guess. Let me guess. Duncan Hunter.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Of course! I don\u2019t hear you promote him that much either. Is it you just don\u2019t think he has a chance at all?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No! It\u2019s too soon. I\u2019m not promoting anybody. You gotta know that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Weeeell… Okay. I hear you say that gee, it looks like the Democrats are going to win. They will if we keep these top three or two guys in the focus — and could I rattle off the reasons why I think he\u2019s the best?<\/p>\n

RUSH: By all means.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. First, he\u2019s strong on defense.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He\u2019s right on target there. He\u2019s a military guy himself, which is a rarity these days. He\u2019s a Vietnam vet. His sons are in the — or his one son, anyway, has served two terms I believe in Iraq, and is in Afghanistan now. He\u2019s strongly pro-life. He\u2019s actually done some legislation on this. He\u2019s not just talking a good game.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. Right, right, right, right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He\u2019s strong on the border for sure. He says he will have that border closed in six months, and I believe he will. He has that can-do attitude. He\u2019s strong on China, which nobody is really talking about, how they\u2019re cheating on their patents and all this different stuff. He\u2019s willing to take that on, and I think he has the answers.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, something I just thought? Isn\u2019t Duncan Hunter\u2019s wife\u2019s name Celia?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know. (Laughing.) I never even met the guy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (Laughing.) I\u2019m just asking.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He looked like kind of cute last night. I saw him on Fox. I think it was on with Sean Hannity.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I like Duncan. I have great admiration for Duncan Hunter.<\/p>\n

CALLER: His personal life is great. He\u2019s been married to the same woman for a long time. I don\u2019t know what her name is, but he\u2019s got strong family values. He will fight for the marriage amendment, and the intangibles like they talk about in tennis. He\u2019s got poise. He\u2019s got intelligence. He\u2019s knowledgeable on all of these issues.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He\u2019s moral. He\u2019s got that, as I said, can-do attitude. He\u2019s positive. He will do the right thing, not just the popular thing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, I hope he can break out. I don\u2019t mean to be rude, but I want to go on to one more caller before I have to go. But I want to tell you this. There\u2019s a story, I didn\u2019t get to it today, the Drive-Bys talking about McCain\u2019s explosion and so forth. The Drive-Bys are saying, ‘You know, it probably is a good thing. We\u2019ve reached a threshold in this country now: military men are being rejected by the voters. John Kerry, McCain, so forth and so on.\u2019 Put that in the hopper.
