RUSH: You know, I\u2019ve been wondering about this for the longest time and it\u2019s one of the things that\u2019s, frankly, had me worried about the future of the country.<\/p>\n

Look at California. Look at what we have learned about California politics just in the last, say, five to 10 years, how left wing and it is and how left wing it is trending. By left wing, I mean in many ways it\u2019s anti-American. Now that Governor Brown is leaving, there are many people worried out there that this state is gonna go so far left that it might not be recognizable, that Jerry Brown, Snerdley… Jerry Brown is being looked at it as a moderate by people worried about who is going to replace him.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Look at the stories we have out of California about unemployment, illegal immigration, sanctuary city things, homeless people piled on the streets of… In San Francisco, it got so bad they had to create a map to show people where piles of excrement were so that tourists and people walking around could avoid it! There is so much poop on the streets in San Francisco, a map was created to help people avoid it<\/a>. In Los Angeles, the homeless problem that just continues to skyrocket. The tax rates!<\/p>\n

The tax rates are just exorbitantly high, and if you don\u2019t live in one of the power centers — San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, San Diego, that whole area of the southern California coast. If you live inland, you live — in many ways — in a Third World country. So my question has always been, “Why do people stay there? Why aren\u2019t there more people leaving that state?” I\u2019ve been asking myself, “Are the people of this state really this far left? Are they really this far gone, as far left and as far gone as people who run for office out there — local and national — and get elected?”<\/p>\n

And, finally, there\u2019s a story today. This is at the San Francisco CBS bureau. “San Francisco Bay Area Experiences Mass Exodus of Residents.<\/a>” I have been wondering. Now, we know that there has been a migration of small businesspeople out of California to places like Idaho. But it hasn\u2019t been anything momentous, although it\u2019s been happening. But this story out of San Jose: “The number of people packing up and moving out of the Bay Area just hit its highest level in more than a decade.<\/p>\n

“Carole Dabak spent 40 years living in San Jose and now she\u2019s part of the mass exodus that is showing no signs of slowing down. The retired engineer\u2019s packing up and calling it quits about to move to the state of Tennessee. ‘I loved it here when I first got here. I really loved it here. But it\u2019s just not the same,\u2019 Dabak said,” and one of the things that\u2019s driving people out… Now, on reflection, I\u2019m not surprised it\u2019s not being reported.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s driving people out is this sanctuary city stuff and the open-armed welcome and open invitation to the dregs of the world to come to California. Who would want to stay there in these circumstances? And I have been perplexed and surprised that we haven\u2019t heard of more people leaving. Would you want your neighborhood infested with the world\u2019s worst? And would you want the government of your neighborhood openly welcoming them and then offering to shield them from the law, particularly if it\u2019s federal law?<\/p>\n

\"\"Would you want your mayor, your town council shielding the dregs — the gangs, the abject poverty (sigh), the human debris — that\u2019s finding its way in because the state government is sending an every day, open, extended invitation? Why stay? Well, it turns out people aren\u2019t. But this is the first such story chronicling the… Well, they\u2019re calling it an “exodus.” It\u2019s the San Francisco Bay area specifically, but there have to be more areas where it happens.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s not enough people to affect California\u2019s Electoral College supremacy or any of that. It\u2019s not that massive. But it\u2019s at least enough that it makes some sense. It\u2019s just one of these things that\u2019s been gnawing at me for a number of years. I never voiced it because I never saw any evidence that it was happening. ‘Cause it didn\u2019t make sense. It just doesn\u2019t make sense that California is openly… It\u2019s like the national Democrats are going out of their way to welcome all of these DREAMers kids at the expense of American kids who also dream.<\/p>\n

And when you point that out like Trump did in the State of the Union speech — that Americans are dreamers, too, and that American kids have dreams — look how mad the Democrats get. You know, I actually think that State of the Union speech — and I referred to this a couple times after it. The optics of the Democrats not just not applauding, but with their facial expressions openly hating every Trump comment on the greatness and goodness and the recovery of America.<\/p>\n

Whenever Trump recognized American greatness, gave examples of it — like the economy roaring back, whatever — they cut to the Democrats and you had frowns, and you had anger, and you had looks of total befuddlement. You had people sitting on their hands. I\u2019m telling you, the optics there did more damage to the Democrat Party than anybody in the Drive-By Media even knows. This is another amazing thing: The Democrats can watch that State of the Union just like you and I did, and they can watch the behavior of the Democrats, and they don\u2019t see any negative to it.<\/p>\n

They see positive. They see, “That was the resistance! That\u2019s exactly what\u2019s happening here. That was the resistance!” They think it\u2019s a big positive and it\u2019s somehow gonna help Democrats at the ballot box, and it\u2019s just the exact opposite. The Democrats allowed that to hammer another nail into their coffin. They don\u2019t see that, but I do, and I think the Democrat Party is in heap big trouble. They don\u2019t know it. (Some of them might.) But they don\u2019t know it. They look at random examples where they think they\u2019re victorious and think they\u2019re coming back.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve already told themselves they\u2019ve won the 2018 midterms. They\u2019re already over.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
