Could you please list history\u2019s top ten greatest diplomatic successes to illustrate for your listeners why the work of the state department and diplomacy generally is soooooooo important to our nation\u2019s safety and security?\u2019 Now, I only got this e-mail during the break a few minutes ago. I must confess I\u2019ve been thinking very hard about this, and you can\u2019t come up with one. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/Great_Moments_In_Diplomacy.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"362\" height=\"198\" class=\"alignright\"\/>The North Korea six-party talks, diplomacy. Okay, there\u2019s a great illustration of how it doesn\u2019t work. Diplomacy with the Clinton administration and Madam Albright. We give them all this nuclear stuff, they, a bunch of communists, promise they\u2019ll only use it for nuclear power, satellites fly over the country at night and they have no lights on. Don\u2019t have any electricity there. They\u2019ve used it to gin up nuclear weapons manufacturing. Now they promise they won\u2019t do it anymore. So, okay, but the jury is still out on that. Give me another one. It was a purchase. By that definition, you say buying Manhattan for 24 pizzas from the Indians or whatever it was. That\u2019s not diplomacy. That is not diplomacy. It was a purchase.<\/p>\n<p>We snookered \u2019em, but we bought it. I mean, you can\u2019t call a negotiation on a sale, diplomacy. You just can\u2019t. Give me another example. Don\u2019t cite for me. &#8216;How about the armistice after we defeated Japan?\u2019 No. No, no, no. That\u2019s not diplomacy. Sadat\u2019s peace agreement with Israel? That\u2019s really worked out, hasn\u2019t it? Sadat\u2019s peace agreement with Israel. Yeah, Egypt has not fired on them, true, but whoop-de-do. Hezbollah the other day said they\u2019ve got rockets now that can hit any part of Israel. Hezbollah also says that they\u2019ve got cells working to infiltrate the United States to conduct operations here. Yeah. Okay. Handing over the Panama Canal? We\u2019re talking successful diplomacy! (Laughing.) Okay, that led to US&#8230; Okay, well, if you people out there want to help this e-mailer understand that there are some great diplomatic successes that have kept the &#8230; (interruption) Monroe Doctrine. Was that diplomacy? No, those are policies, a decree. That\u2019s true. Top-town policy. We don\u2019t have the guts to do that anymore. What we have is guys like Barack Obama going to tell Bashar Assad and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, &#8216;You guys better fix Iraq when we leave.\u2019 I\u2019m sorry to laugh at the <a href=\"\/\/home\/estack_12_13_06\/BarackSection\/01125125.html\">magic negro<\/a>, but I that answer still has me in stunned amazement. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/Great_Moments_In_Diplomacy.Par.34111.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"155\" height=\"132\" class=\"alignright\"\/>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: How about this, as an example of great diplomacy? I mentioned it earlier on this very program, and that would be Ronaldus Magnus walking out on Mikhail Gorbachev at Reykjavik. That was great diplomacy. Another example of great diplomacy you might cite is Chamberlain with Hitler. Neville Chamberlain are Hitler. Nancy Pelosi with the House Democrats. There\u2019s been some great, great diplomacy taking place there. Maybe one of the greatest diplomatic feats of all time: Bill Clinton with Hillary after Monica.
