RUSH: This next one is juicy, ladies and gentlemen. A question from Mike Green from Lexington, South Carolina. He said, ‘I wanted to ask all the nominees whether they would send their kids to public school or private school.\u2019 Here\u2019s Mrs. Clinton.<\/p>\n

HILLARY: Chelsea went to public schools kindergarten through eighth grade until we moved to Washington, and then I was advised — and it was unfortunately good advice — that if she were to go to a public school, the press would never leave her alone because it\u2019s a public school. So I had to make a very difficult question. <\/p>\n

COOPER: Senator Obama?<\/p>\n

HILLARY: But we were very pleased that she was in public schools in Little Rock.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really. A very difficult decision, very difficult. Oh, horrible! There wasn\u2019t anything difficult about this decision at all. There is that Hillary and Bill Clinton are going to send their daughter to any public school in Washington, DC. There is no way. It wasn\u2019t difficult at all, and it had nothing to do with the press. It had nothing to do with the media. They sent Chelsea to Sidwell Friends which is where all of the elites from media and government officials send their children: private school. (interruption) What do you mean, ‘What\u2019s wrong DC public schools?\u2019 The main challenge there is staying alive. Getting an education is a bonus, and that\u2019s even iffy. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: York, Pennsylvania. Theresa, welcome to the EIB Network.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, it is York, Pennsylvania. Regarding Hillary\u2019s comment about sending Chelsea to private versus public school?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Amy Carter went to public school, and the press left her alone. I just remember the first day of school picture: Rosalyn waiting from the steps and Amy pulling her inside.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Amy Carter went to public schools in Washington?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, uh-huh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now that you say it, I think that\u2019s right. That\u2019s absolutely right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. So I don\u2019t know what the — well, granted the press has changed a lot between 1976 and \u201992, but I just feel like that that was not a valid reason.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Of course it\u2019s not a valid reason. It was Clintonism. It was a lie. They never once considered it! <\/p>\n

RUSH: They never once considered it. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not only was it that they didn\u2019t want her to go to the turmoil of the public schools and all that sort of stuff.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There was prestige associated with getting your kid into Sidwell Friends.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oooooh, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes. Don\u2019t think that didn\u2019t matter. Theresa, thanks much. I appreciate it. Julie in Wellington, North Carolina. Welcome to the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. It\u2019s a pleasure to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank yewww.<\/p>\n

CALLER: First of all, I just was curious as to who you thought came out on top last night, or did anybody?<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s a dangerous question to ask when Chris Dodd\u2019s on the panel. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (Laughs)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because, you know, he was ultimately on top and on bottom during the waitress sandwich days with Ted Kennedy.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Back at La Brasserie, which is no longer open. Who came out on top? It\u2019s hard to say. I don\u2019t know. It\u2019s hard for me to watch this debate with the mind-set of a Democrat voter. It\u2019s Hillary. I don\u2019t think Barack Obama landed a big enough punch to overtake her. I don\u2019t think Edwards stood out at all. I don\u2019t think Edwards did anything. So, probably Hillary. Nobody took her out so she had to be considered the winner.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s what kind of I look at it, too. I\u2019m a conservative but my husband and I are big political junkies so we tend to follow everything and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — I feel like overall, you know, she\u2019s got it in the bag pretty much. Secondly, I just wanted to quickly point out, yesterday when you were talking about women not necessarily voting for Hillary just because she\u2019s a woman.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah. Ten seconds. Ten seconds.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, unfortunately that\u2019s not my experience. I\u2019m running into a lot of women that that\u2019s exactly why they will pick her, and I\u2019m really worried about that. <\/p>\n
