RUSH: This is Chris in Kansas City, Missouri. It\u2019s nice to have you on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Stroud\u2019s<\/a> chicken dittos from KC.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, man, you\u2019re making my mouth water, especially since I can\u2019t have any of that right now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Listen, I just had a couple of quick points to make about Iraq. You know, President Bush talked about the ‘war fatigue\u2019 earlier today, and the American people can\u2019t really have ‘war fatigue\u2019 right now because they haven\u2019t made any sacrifices. The American people are suffering from propaganda fatigue.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, that\u2019s an excellent point, but the president meant — because he also talked about the psychology of the American people. What he\u2019s referring to as war fatigue, is they\u2019re sick and tired of seeing news that shows us losing! They\u2019re sick and tired of a drumbeat of negativity, and they don\u2019t want to hear that anymore. They want to win or get out if we\u2019re going to lose. That\u2019s what the president was talking about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, also, you know, we\u2019d be in a much better position to deal with Iran and Syria right now if the Democrats had just supported this thing in Iraq because the threat is not going to be enough to deter them now. Now we\u2019re going to have to use force there, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, more than likely. That\u2019s one of the problems that this fatigue is going to lead to, because this is not the last front where we\u2019re going to have to face this threat.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This fatigue is not real fatigue. It\u2019s just propaganda. It\u2019s all this negativity that the Democrats are pushing, and we haven\u2019t made any sacrifices here. The military families and the military have been making sacrifices, and they\u2019re not fatigued. They\u2019re ready to finish this job.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand that. I understand it totally. You say they haven\u2019t had to make any sacrifices. I talk about the fact that we have so much affluence in this country that people don\u2019t have to pay for it if they don\u2019t want to. Their action is not required in order for the war effort to move on. We\u2019re both saying the same thing. Do you disagree that there is a… oooh, ‘feeling of unsettleness\u2019 among a lot of people over the fact that this war has not seemed to move off the dime in four years is this? Now, I understand that most people understand that wars don\u2019t have timetables and so forth, but the perception is that there hasn\u2019t been any progress. It\u2019s because of what they\u2019re being told. It\u2019s because of the misinformation in the Drive-By Media. But that still creates a reality even though it\u2019s based in propaganda.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s true. But, you know, the Islamists have always said that we\u2019ll just get tired and go away if they just wait us out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And we gotta prove that\u2019s not right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that is going to depend on who the president is. Did you watch the president today, the whole thing?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Pretty much.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s not going to give up. He\u2019s not going to quit. He\u2019s not going to draw down. He\u2019s not going to reduce the ability we have to win this thing — especially with the security side of the interim report that was released today. He made it clear. He\u2019s not going to focus group this; he\u2019s not going to listen to the polls on this. He can\u2019t. He doesn\u2019t have that luxury.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He\u2019s just showing he has a lot of class. He\u2019s willing to take a hit on his approval ratings to get the job done over there.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right, because as he said, he wants to look in the mirror when he\u2019s back home in Crawford after his presidency is over and not be embarrassed. He wants to be able to look at himself in the mirror and say he did everything he did because it was the right thing to do and out of principle. He\u2019s not going anywhere on this. So the American people can sit there and be fatigued all they want. Let \u2019em take it out on the Democrats, because he\u2019s not running for reelection. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
