RUSH:  You know, I have a female friend out there who just loves Trump.  I mean, she would have Trump\u2019s children today if it weren\u2019t for the tubal, and she is livid with me.  She sent me an email, “Trump didn\u2019t invite Schumer up there.  Schumer was summoned!  You better get it right!  Trump doesn\u2019t invite people for tea and crumpets.  Schumer was summoned!  He knows it and everybody else knows it.  So get it right!”<\/p>\n

You know, I forgot to say something.  I forgot to include… In all of my rants in the last hour, I forgot to include the most obvious thing.  There isn\u2019t gonna be a shutdown.  See, that\u2019s what drives me nuts about all this.  There isn\u2019t gonna be one.  There won\u2019t be a partial one.  There\u2019s gonna be a deal.  There isn\u2019t going to be a shutdown, particularly if the Democrats believe that they have done enough damage. There\u2019s polling data out there already that the American people blame the Republicans in a majority sense for this.<\/p>\n

There are always last-minute deals, and there\u2019s plenty of room for the Democrats to move because they are totally responsible. They have been given everything they have demanded, and they\u2019re still not going to be sign it.  They\u2019re not going to agree to it.  They\u2019re not gonna vote for it.  Everything they\u2019ve wanted! Folks, they have been given everything.  They\u2019ve been given an extension of DACA, they have been given a six-month extension of the S-CHIP program, the children\u2019s health care… I forgot the name, S-CHIP.  They have been given everything!<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the point that Mulvaney was making<\/a>.  They\u2019re voting against everything they\u2019re for, and that\u2019s absolutely true.  So they have negotiating room.  If Schumer wanted to say, “Okay, Trump, we\u2019ll give you 10 feet of the wall” (laughing), there\u2019s room to maneuver here on their side. (interruption) You don\u2019t think there\u2019s gonna be a deal?  (interruption) You think there\u2019s gonna be a shutdown?  (interruption) Well, here\u2019s the thing.  So you think there\u2019s gonna be a shutdown.  You pray that there\u2019s a shutdown.  Nobody\u2019s gonna know it, because the Republicans are gonna use the reserve funds they have to keep all these agencies operating.<\/p>\n
