CALLER: Great, Rush. Thank you for taking my call. Please bear with me. I\u2019m very nervous.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, you don\u2019t sound it. You don\u2019t sound nervous at all.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Okay. Thank you.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You know what you need to do? You need to pretend that I\u2019m there in the same room where you are on the phone and that I have a mink glove and that I am rubbing your shoulders with the mink glove.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Okay. I\u2019ll try to do that.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That\u2019s how pleasant this experience is gonna be.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Great. So I had a glimmer of hope last night, other than your show. My husband and I were out to dinner in a small town in Hudson County, New Jersey, which is very, very liberal in one of the most corrupt counties in the country. So we\u2019re at the bar waiting for our table, and Donald Trump pops up on the CNN monitors and a conversation ensues about Trump. And everybody was so excited.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait, wait. Conversations with you or do you mean people on CNN began talking?<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, no, conversations at the bar.<\/p>\n
RUSH: At the bar.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Patrons at the bar, when they saw Trump on the monitor.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And everyone was excited. All Democrats, of course in one breath they would say they didn\u2019t like Trump or he wasn\u2019t smart, but they loved everything he was doing. Their 401(k)s were up 19, 23, 26%, and they couldn\u2019t wait for the next few months to see what was gonna happen with these tax cuts. So I was so excited just to hear that, because you don\u2019t hear that in Hudson County.<\/p>\n
RUSH: But even in the midst of that they had to make it clear to you that they still don\u2019t like Trump, that they think he\u2019s an idiot, they had to tell you that, but they could not hide their happiness over their improving financial circumstances?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n
RUSH: So did you think they were softening any on Trump? Is that what you want us to know? Is that why you called? Do you think there might have been some ground broken here, these people might be open to changing their minds about Trump? Is that what you think?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah. I think that the Democrats aren\u2019t fooling anybody.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, now, this is anecdotal information, and by that I mean there\u2019s nothing scientific, we can\u2019t extrapolate this, but here we are in Hudson County, New Jersey, in a bar, and Trump\u2019s face shows up on CNN, and a bunch of Trump-hating leftists began talking about how great their 401(k)s are doing and how excited they are for what the tax cut will mean the rest of the year? Instead of a bunch of vitriol and insults and demands that on TV be turned off. Who knows what it could ultimately mean, but if the sight of Trump among leftists reduces the amount of hatred and vitriol, there may be something possible happening here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So I got an email. “Rush, seriously? A mink glove shoulder rub? I don\u2019t know what you\u2019re thinking. That sounded like you\u2019re sexually harassing the caller.” Come on, folks.
