CALLER: Hi, Rush. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine, thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Happy Friday!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Same to you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you. I have been waiting to make this call for a whole year, and I just wanted to call because you had made a comment at the end of your show a year ago, and you said you were disappointed that nobody had called in to say happy Father\u2019s Day. So I\u2019m calling to say happy Father\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I vaguely remember that. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (Giggles.) <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, you\u2019re right, I did, because then I got a lot of e-mails. ‘Oh, Rush, you\u2019re right. There are a lot of Rush Babies out there to whom you are a surrogate father,\u2019 to which my reply was, ‘Don\u2019t think that that entitles you to child support from me.\u2019 But you\u2019re right, I do remember. That\u2019s very thoughtful of you, but I\u2019m not a father.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know. But I just wanted to give you a little lift by saying happy Father\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you very much. That\u2019s very thoughtful, and you\u2019re been waiting a whole year to do this —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I have.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: And you got in. You actually got through our crowded, overloaded phone system. That means there was karma behind this. This was something that was supposed to happen.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, exactly, and I thought —<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, Kim is one of those names in my all time top ten favorite female names.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. Well, I was making the call, and I called like right after the show started, and I called and called and called, and I thought maybe it just wasn\u2019t meant to be. I wasn\u2019t meant to make this call today, and I thought, ‘No, I can\u2019t give up. That\u2019s just the anti-Rush thing to do.\u2019 So I just kept calling.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly right. Well, it was meant to be because it happened.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (Giggle.) Right. Well, happy Father\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, Kim. Same to you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. Bye-bye.<\/p>\n
