RUSH: We have on the phone, ladies and gentlemen, Brooke Pernice. Brooke Pernice is the daughter of my golf buddy and partner at the AT&amp;T National Pro-Am every February out at Pebble Beach, Tom Pernice, Jr. They\u2019re from Murrieta, California. Brooke is home because she\u2019s had some surgery here and she\u2019s whiling away. She\u2019s being home-schooled, and a mandatory three hours of her home schooling is this program. How are you, Brooke?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I\u2019m actually doing pretty well.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Tell everybody how old you are.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I\u2019m 12 years old, now.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Twelve years old. For the next five minutes, folks, I can shut up. I\u2019ve been to dinner <\/line>with this young woman and she remembers more of what I\u2019ve said in the last ten years than I do. It\u2019s amazing. She\u2019s a treat to talk to. What did you call to talk about today?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Well, I actually had a few things. First I wanted to say, I\u2019ve been watching the debates, and I really like Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, because he\u2019s very conservative. He wants a Fair Tax. He doesn\u2019t think we should spend. He just wants a bunch of conservative things. Secondly, I want to say, I don\u2019t know what theory these libs are going to use, because I had to read a science chapter when I was being home-schooled, and obviously I wasn\u2019t at school, and they had to read it there, and it was about how the sun is going to give out, and this million years, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and trying to scare you, and I said, ‘You know, what theory are they going to use? Are they going to say the sun is going to give out, or that they\u2019re going to die from global warming?\u2019 I called my best friend. I asked her, ‘Was anyone freaked out when they read that?\u2019 and she\u2019s like, ‘Yes, they were,\u2019 and I was —<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Wait, Brooke. Hang on here just a second. How long ago was it that you read in a science class that the sun was going to burn out?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: A few weeks ago, I believe. My mom was reading it to me because we had to do my homework.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: All right. So, now, normally in your science class are you treated to the usual drivel about global warming and how man is destroying his environment and the planet?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: We had to watch a movie not too long ago. I wasn\u2019t paying attention during the movie (I was actually playing a game), but it was about how global warming is affecting coral reefs. <\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Well, global warming is affecting everything.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I know.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Now, the sun is <\/emphasize>burning out, but it\u2019s going to be billions of years before it happens.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Exactly, and I said, ‘You know, I\u2019m going to be dead up in heaven before that happens,\u2019 but I want to know: What theory are they going to use to scare these children?<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Well, I don\u2019t know, but whatever theory they\u2019re using to try to scare you isn\u2019t working because you are a skeptic. You\u2019re not buying into any of this. I wish we had time for you to talk about how you\u2019ve taught your teachers things about current events and all that, but I\u2019m interested in why you like Mike Huckabee. Who did you like after Huckabee in the debate?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Governor Gilmore of Virginia and Brownback of Kansas.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: What about the top tier guys like Giuliani and McCain?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I just think that Giuliani is not as conservative as Huckabee, to me. He doesn\u2019t sound as conservative to me.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: What about Fred Thompson? I know he\u2019s not announced yet, but he\u2019s out there lurking. <\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Thompson seems okay. I mean, he\u2019s got some conservative points, but I don\u2019t like him as much as I like Huckabee. I would vote for Huckabee if I was old enough and if he was the candidate.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: You think he has a legitimate chance of winning?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Well, if he was up against Al Gore like one of your callers said earlier, I think he\u2019d probably have a pretty good chance.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Yeah, but he\u2019s gotta get the nomination first. It\u2019s fascinating. How long you going to be recuperating at home before you\u2019re up, back and running around?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I\u2019ll be recuperating for at least a couple more weeks. You know, I\u2019ve been down in two casts, obviously. I\u2019ve been crawling around, and crawling around wherever I can, and it\u2019s been going pretty well. I got two of the pins taken out this week. I\u2019m going to get the other ones taken out next week. But congratulations on the Nobel Peace Prize nomination.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: I\u2019m glad you noticed that. That is a very high honor. I don\u2019t have a snowball\u2019s chance of winning this thing, as you know, but just to be nominated, they say, is an honor.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I heard that they\u2019re a bunch of liberals, European liberals that are in the committee. I think my dad told me.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: ‘Liberals\u2019 is being kind to them. They\u2019re a bunch of anti-American Bush-haters.<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: Yeah, well, good luck, and congratulations. You just withered away to nothing, I heard from my father.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Well, not quite withered away to nothing, but I am withering away. Look, the next time I see you, I\u2019ll have to tell you — I don\u2019t know if you heard about this — I had an encounter with Bill Clinton a couple nights ago. Did you hear about that?<\/line> <\/line>CALLER: I heard some of that on Hannity &amp; Colmes last night.<\/line> <\/line>RUSH: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I\u2019ll have to tell you about this. It\u2019s just a good thing you weren\u2019t with me. It could have gotten problematic. Brooke, I have to run. That\u2019s great. It\u2019s great to talk to you. <\/line><\/p>\n
