RUSH: By the way, folks, I don\u2019t know if you have seen them. There are not very many of them yet, and they are kind of widespread out there. But on stories about Harvey Weinstein, there are now — well, in fact, I don\u2019t even need to go to a story. Friday, stand by on what I told you on sound bites. Grab sound bite number 19. What I was gonna say is I\u2019ve seen a couple of stories out there talking about the future redemption of Harvey Weinstein. Have you seen those?<\/p>\n

\"\"Yeah, Weinstein was the reprobate of the year for a couple of weeks, three weeks. But then I noticed that in the Drive-By Media and in certain enclaves of Hollywood, there began to be discussions of, you know, it doesn\u2019t make any sense because if you look at the body of work that Weinstein put out, it\u2019s so beautiful, it\u2019s so touching, it\u2019s so sensitive. Look at the movies. How do we square the body of work with this reprobate pervert behavior? Signifying that there has been a middle ground in there whereby Weinstein could be redeemed sufficiently so to be forgiven.<\/p>\n

And then there have been similar stories about some of these other perverts in Hollywood, the desire to maybe have them realize the errors of their ways and seek a second chance. Now, I\u2019m here to tell you that same option will never be offered to Roy Moore or any other conservative Republican who happens to end up in the crosshairs of sexual harassment charges.<\/p>\n

Look at the pass Bill Clinton got for all of those years, and only now when it\u2019s necessary for people to save face on the left are they now, in 20\/20 hindsight, they are faux spanking themselves. They are pretending to be beating themselves up over the mistakes they made by giving Clinton a pass.<\/p>\n

But now, ladies and gentlemen, I want to go to the audio sound bites. We have the famous intellectual actor Bryan Cranston who played the character Walter White Heisenberg on the immensely popular Breaking Bad TV show who not long ago opined that after first ripping Trump to shreds and thinking Trump should be out of office<\/a>, Trump shouldn\u2019t have been elected, Trump\u2019s this, Trump\u2019s that, he changed his tune and said (paraphrasing), “You know what? I now hope Trump succeeds.”<\/p>\n

And the left gasped. He said, “That\u2019s right, he\u2019s the president now, and I don\u2019t want him to fail. I think anybody that would say I hope he fails, you know what I would say to that person? F you!” Well, there was only one person nationally known for ever having said about Obama, “I hope he fails,” and that was me, your loved guiding light host, El Rushbo.<\/p>\n

\"\"Now Bryan Cranston is back, deep thought intellectual leader of Hollywood. He was on the BBC. Arts editor Will Gompertz speaking with Cranston about recent allegations of sexual harassment against Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey. Question: “Is there a way back, is there a way back for the Weinsteins and Spaceys of the world?”<\/p>\n

CRANSTON: It would take time. It would take a society to forgive them. And it would take tremendous contrition on their part and a knowingness that they have a deeply rooted psychological, emotional problem, and it takes years to mend that. If they were to show us that they put the work in and are truly sorry and making amends and not defending their actions, but asking for forgiveness, then maybe down the road there is room for that. Maybe so. We shouldn\u2019t close it off and say, “To hell with him, rot and go away from us for the rest of your life.” Let\u2019s not do that. Let\u2019s be bigger than that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There you have it. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready, because the Weinstein-Spacey redemption phase has now begun. “There has to be a second chance. We can\u2019t just say rot and go away for the rest of your life,” unless it\u2019s to Donald Trump. But to these other paragons of great entertainment and arts value, we must afford open-mindedness and second chances.<\/p>\n

\"\"As long as they admit that they\u2019re genuine screw ups, as long as they admit that they\u2019re reprobates, as long as they admit that they\u2019re lucky to be breathing air, we\u2019ll give them a second chance. As long as they spend enough time and dig deep and admit to themselves what a bunch of human debris they have been, we can get \u2019em back. We should be open to this. Yes.<\/p>\n

What do you think, six weeks of rehab and we can bring \u2019em back? I\u2019m just telling you, and you\u2019re gonna soon see, if you haven\u2019t already, the stories, probably Washington Post, New York Times, “the beauty of the work. Look at the substance of the Weinstein movie catalog. My God, it\u2019s some of the most beautiful, moving stuff we\u2019ve ever seen. How do we square the guy who did that with what we know that Ashley Judd and the others said about him?”<\/p>\n

The reason I\u2019m bringing this up is because there\u2019s a new meme out there today, there\u2019s a new narrative, and that is that sexual harassment isn\u2019t partisan. I\u2019d beg to differ everything is partisan when Drive-By Media and the Democrat Party are involved. Everything is. And because it\u2019s partisan, there isn\u2019t sameness or equality in the way people are treated. And I guarantee you, second chances for Weinstein and Spacey will not be offered to other perps. (interruption) Cosby? Well, Cosby is a different situation altogether. I mean, Cosby doesn\u2019t have much more value to contribute. We pretty much got the catalog of Bill Cosby\u2019s work already, and Cosby has not shown any contrition. Oh, that\u2019s very, very important. Cosby\u2019s continued to double down, deny it and so forth and so on.<\/p>\n

But we\u2019ll just see. Now, ladies and gentlemen, moving off this stuff for a minute, we\u2019re gonna come back to it because the Bill Clinton aspect of it, I\u2019m still not through addressing and dealing with that, but there are other things happening out there, and I don\u2019t want them to slip away and fall by the wayside.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
