CALLER: Hi, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you for taking my call. It\u2019s an honor to speak to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Very quickly I want to find out why no one is talking about the Dianne Feinstein story. It\u2019s been completely brushed under the rug. <\/p>\n

RUSH: (Yawning.)<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s bigger than anything that Halliburton and Cheney was going on then, but yet nobody is talking about it. I\u2019ll leave it at that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, no. Let\u2019s do a little exercise here, and I\u2019m just going to assume you people in the audience know. Let me brief you. She recently resigned from a subcommittee in the Senate that has great sway on the apportioning of military contracts, and many of them went to her husband, companies that her husband is prominently invested in or even controls. She got out of there, and it\u2019s been a local, alternative weekly in the Bay Area which has been really pounding the drums on this. But nobody in the Drive-Bys have picked up the story. That\u2019s what Savannah here is talking about. My question is, ‘Why do you think that is?\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Obviously I know why it is, because nobody wants to bring up this impropriety when it\u2019s one of their own girls.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There you go! It\u2019s a perfect illustration.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Where are all of our people? Why is Fox not talking about this? Why are senators not calling for her resignation? Where are all the Republicans? They\u2019re mum on this well.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, God, here we go again. Look, don\u2019t ask me to explain why the Republicans aren\u2019t talking. You should know that. They\u2019re not going to make any noise. This is not what they do. The Drive-Bys don\u2019t care about it because it doesn\u2019t fit the agenda. They\u2019re not going to take one of their own out. ‘Plus, she quit when she realized that things had gone wrong.\u2019 I can imagine the way this whole thing would be spun. As for Fox News, I don\u2019t know that they haven\u2019t talked about it. I haven\u2019t seen them lately. I can\u2019t believe that somewhere on Fox News, that this story hasn\u2019t at least been mentioned. But, you know, you\u2019re whistling Dixie, you\u2019re going by the graveyard here if you think the Drive-Bys are going to talk about this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, she did not resign from being on the Senate rules committee, which is all about ethical behavior.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, no, and why should she? She\u2019s Dianne Feinstein! She\u2019s a liberal Democrat! Why, they never do anything wrong. Look it, back when Bill Clinton was abusing women, it was the women\u2019s fault. They were trailer trash, and it was a bunch of right-wingers bringing it up, and Hillary is out there defending her husband, showing her strength in the matter. No, no, no, no, no! There are two Americas. There\u2019s a different playing field for these people. See, the problem is Dianne Feinstein is not corrupt. She wasn\u2019t trying to profit! That\u2019s not who liberals are. Liberals cannot profit. By definition, liberals cannot engage in anything that\u2019s racist, sexist, homophobic or corrupt! That\u2019s not who liberals are. So whatever the truth is here, it isn\u2019t that, and it doesn\u2019t even interest them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (Laughing.)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well? I know you\u2019re laughing. It\u2019s a laugh of frustration, but what other explanation for this is there? The only other explanation is that the San Francisco Chronicle hasn\u2019t done the story. It\u2019s some weekly or I believe somebody referred to it as an ‘alternative paper,\u2019 and it\u2019s a bunch of leftists. They might chalk it up to being an un-credible source. Who knows?
