Of course, John Edwards\u2019 wife, Elizabeth, said, &#8216;He\u2019s a gun-toting Republican. I don\u2019t want my kids getting anywhere near him. His property looks like it\u2019s a slum,\u2019 and he\u2019s responded, (paraphrased) &#8216;Look, my property taxes have gone up twice in value here. They\u2019ve doubled because they built this big house down the road from me that raised everybody\u2019s property value, and I can\u2019t afford to live here anymore, and I\u2019ve gotta move out and so forth.\u2019 So Gibson said, &#8216;Monty, she says she\u2019s scared of you because you pulled a gun on some guys that came on your property. What\u2019s the story with this?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>JOHNSON: I don\u2019t have any idea what she\u2019s talking about. She hasn\u2019t been here long enough. She doesn\u2019t know me. She\u2019s never been on my property. She\u2019s never spoken with me. Occasionally they\u2019ll send somebody over to find out what I\u2019m doing, but that\u2019s the extent of it. I don\u2019t have any idea what she\u2019s talking about.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Gibson said, &#8216;Well, she also evidently complains that your property is kind of ramshackle and it\u2019s a mess while hers is all neat and tidy.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>JOHNSON: Well, therefore, you know, I don\u2019t have millions of dollars. I just have to fix a little as I can. But I think I have a beautiful place. I have had it maxed out as far as landscaping and shrubbing, and I work on it continuously every day long.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: There you have it. That\u2019s Monty Johnson, who is just a salt-of-the-earth guy, apparently, a proud Republican, probably a dittohead. We could roll the dice here and say he\u2019s a dittohead, and being attacked here by Elizabeth Edwards as a gun-toting maniac that frightens her kids.
