RUSH: Jeff in Chicago, nice to have you with us, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, it is an honor.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Does Nancy Pelosi not understand what the Constitution specifically defines as her role as an elected official?<\/p>\n

RUSH: She totally understands it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: She is in the legislative branch, not the executive, and a lot of things that she is beginning to do encroaches upon the executive branch.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well… (sigh)<\/p>\n

CALLER: But my main question is this though. She is almost like her own drug. The more she does, the more she\u2019s going to attempt to do. She is becoming more and more reckless, more and more out of control. <\/p>\n

RUSH: (sigh) <\/p>\n

CALLER: She is almost attempting to take over her own agenda.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes! Congratulations! You got it, and it\u2019s not just her. It\u2019s their whole party.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, my question is this, though. If you try and take over a government that is not in your constitutional right to do, does that not border on treason?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, if somebody wants to level the charge, if somebody wants to bring the charge, but what do you want to bet nobody will?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s just exactly right. For whatever reason it won\u2019t. Yes, there\u2019s a lot of politics involved. That\u2019s why they call it politics. But the bottom line is this —<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is not new. You guys! I explained this. The Democrats did this to Reagan in his second term with the Contras and the Boland Amendment, the Nicaraguan situation. They\u2019re flying down making buddy-buddy, drinking wine, breaking bread with communist Sandinistas all over the place down there. These people are about power. Nancy Pelosi, you gotta understand. They have been out of power since 1995. I don\u2019t know how to explain it. Take the thing in life, Jeff, that are most passionate about, and imagine it\u2019s taken away from you for ten years, and all of a sudden you get it back, you aren\u2019t ever going to lose it, and part of your theory in not losing it is to make it even bigger! You\u2019re going to make it stick. In their case, they\u2019re trying to amass power so that they never, ever lose it, and they have enough arrogance and superiority to think that… (sigh) It\u2019s not even that. This is just their life\u2019s mission to run and control government.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re exactly right with the arrogance, because what that arrogance is causing them to do is lose respect for the office. When you are elected to that high of an office, you are to be of utmost moral character, so on and so forth. We\u2019ve seen people — frankly, on both sides of the aisle — not live up to that, and we as the American people need to start holding these people accountable. They are working for us, not the other way around. I actually had a staffer, a past congressman tell me once when I was discussing an issue, ‘Oh, you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re talking about.\u2019 Well, I\u2019m telling you what I would like my congressman to do as my representative, and you\u2019re telling me I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m talking about?<\/p>\n

RUSH: He was being totally honest with you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He was being honest. You don\u2019t know about grain subsidies. You don\u2019t know about dealing with the intricacies of foreign oil drilling in Basha Basha! You have no clue. You\u2019re just an idiot out there, and after you vote you\u2019re supposed to shut up and be honored and thrilled and happen that somebody is out there working for you like this. The ‘accountability\u2019 is called the ballot box in this country, and unfortunately a number of sponges in this country wanted to hold more Republicans accountable than Democrats last November. Go figure. It had my head swimming for months. It still is for a while, frankly. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
