RUSH: Here\u2019s Chuck You Schumer. This is on the Senate floor this morning in Washington. Well, just listen. This kind of speaks for itself. See what you think.<\/p>\n

\"\"SCHUMER: If we could talk to those brave souls who were killed and are now in heaven, they would say, “Do something.” They wouldn\u2019t say, “Let\u2019s wait.” President Trump, are you gonna wait to hear what the NRA says first? You fashion yourself as a strong man. Well, are you gonna show that you are not beholden to anyone now? Are you gonna show your strength now? Are you gonna be the first president, Republican president in a generation, to buck the NRA? I say to President Trump, come out and say that you support and would sign a law to ban bump stocks.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know what I feel like doing? I feel like doing a monologue addressing all of those babies who\u2019ve been killed by Planned Parenthood and asking them what they would be saying, if they could speak. They would be saying, “Do something. Shut down Planned Parenthood.” There are over a million abortions a year in the United States of America, dwarfing the number of homicides every year. It\u2019s been the case since 1973, minimum. We don\u2019t know the numbers prior, but you have to think that they\u2019re close.<\/p>\n

A million, it\u2019s actually over a million abortions a year. And who it is, who is it that\u2019s beholden to the NRA? According to the Chuck Schumer? Let\u2019s tell you who\u2019s beholden to Planned Parenthood. That\u2019s the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party and every other faction of the Democrat Party is beholden to Planned Parenthood far more than anybody is beholden to the NRA. If we could talk to those brave babies who were killed in the womb and are now in heaven, they would say, “Do something.” They wouldn\u2019t say, “Let\u2019s wait.”<\/p>\n

Senator Schumer, are you gonna wait to hear what Planned Parenthood says first? You fashion yourself as a strong man, Senator Schumer. Are you gonna show that you\u2019re not beholden to anyone now, including Planned Parenthood? Are you gonna show your strength now? Are you gonna be the first senator on the Democrat Party side to buck Planned Parenthood? I say to Senator Schumer, come out and say that you support and would sign a law to ban abortions. How do you think that would fly?<\/p>\n

\"\"But Senator Schumer can venture to the floor of the Senate and start impugning the NRA, which hasn\u2019t killed anybody, which does not support the killing of anybody, which does not have locations in strip malls and other public places where you can go in and enlist the help of the NRA in killing people. They don\u2019t do that. You can\u2019t do that with the NRA. You can do that with Planned Parenthood. In fact, the Democrat Party urges people to do just that, as they have politicized abortion.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019m sorry, Senator Schumer, if your plaintive plea here speaking to the brave souls in heaven and how they want Trump to ban bump stocks? I think there\u2019s a group of people in heaven who care a little bit more than about bump stocks, Senator Schumer. Here\u2019s Nancy Pelosi, her weekly press conference in Washington on Capitol Hill.<\/p>\n

PELOSI: We have to act now, and we\u2019re not going away. We\u2019ve told the families we have to pass something, and all of this all just blossoms when something occurs, and then we have a flurry of comments from the other side of the aisle saying this is not the time, now is not the time. No, now it\u2019s the time for a moment of silence and no time for action.<\/p>\n

RUSH: See, we gotta do something, we have to pass something! We have to show people that we doing something. We have to show people we care. We have to pass something. It doesn\u2019t matter what it is. You can make book on the fact we\u2019re gonna pass a law that bans bump stocks before we even find out for sure whether or not the guy used \u2019em. You can smell this one coming. You can see this was coming. Why? Because they know they\u2019ve got to do something.<\/p>\n

When something like this happens, everybody thinks something has to happen in Washington. And if something happens in Washington, we\u2019re fixing it. Except we\u2019re not. Because Washington has a unique ability to avoid placing blame where it belongs. What do you think searching for a motive is really all about? I\u2019ll guarantee you what, to some people, searching for a motive means. They\u2019re looking for a way to blame political opponents for it. Not this guy.<\/p>\n

This guy, if the left has its way, is gonna be a victim. He\u2019s gonna have come under the influence of one of the Democrat Party\u2019s enemies. That\u2019s what the hope is. That\u2019s why they\u2019re gonna delay and delay and delay coming up with a motive, because they\u2019re holding out hope that they can lay it off on Trump somehow. If not that, lay it off on Fox News. If not that, lay it off on talk radio. If not that, lay it off on something to do with conservatism or the Republican Party at large.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>A point that I made yesterday in the fourth and a half hour broadcast<\/a> — well, it wasn\u2019t a broadcast. It was a webcast, what is the aura, what is the situation, what are the circumstances in America at the point in time of this massacre? Would you describe America as upbeat and positive and forwardly energetic? I\u2019m talking about at large, because certainly in pockets of this country you\u2019ll find just that, and those people probably are not watching the news.<\/p>\n

The happiest people in this country, the most content people — probably is an economic aspect to it — but they probably don\u2019t watch the news. As such, they are not barraged each and every day with a pummeling of absolute negativity, pessimism, and disaster. But most people are pummeled with that stuff each and every day.<\/p>\n

So in what mood did this massacre take place? It didn\u2019t take place in a mood of uplift and inspiration and positive, even though there are stories about how economic confidence is at a record high the last 10 or 15 years. There are a number of, if you cherry-pick \u2019em, polls that will show you that on balance the American people are optimistic about some things, but overall, what\u2019s the mind-set of America?<\/p>\n

You\u2019d have to say that America\u2019s on edge, is it not? That America\u2019s in constant chaos, America\u2019s in constant crisis. It\u2019s the NFL. It\u2019s what\u2019s happening on college campus. You got Black Lives Matter. You have snowflakes refusing to allow a certain kind of speech on college campus. You got riots going on all over the country. At least we\u2019re told so. And depending on what you read, rape is happening regularly on college campus all over the country. It\u2019s in that context that this shooting took place.<\/p>\n

What if — and nobody knows, and if they do know, they\u2019re not tell us — what if this guy got caught up in all that negativity, just got plain ticked off? He\u2019s already had some grievances. We don\u2019t know what they are. They\u2019re in his personal life. But you can\u2019t escape this stuff. And not everybody is well adjusted with discipline and sanity. Some people are living on the edge out there. This guy, from what we have been told, has been planning this for a long, long time.<\/p>\n

So maybe the current context and mood of America is not a factor, but you can\u2019t ignore it. You\u2019d have to say that this event took place at a time when America\u2019s culture and society and politics are at full boil. If you\u2019re looking for a motive, might that matter? Or is all of that irrelevant when looking for a motive? When I listen to Chuck Schumer pretending to speak to the dead and telling us that their thoughts are on the NRA, when I listen to Nancy Pelosi, “We\u2019ve gotta do something! We have to do something!” I just have to wonder what their desire is. Because these people politicize everything.<\/p>\n

When it comes to motive, I don\u2019t doubt for a minute that they\u2019re hoping that they can use whatever the motive is to advance their political agenda, and if not do that, to inflict great damage on their political opponents\u2019 agenda. Meaning, I have no doubt that Pelosi and Schumer and all the rest of them would love to be able to — and they\u2019re itching for it — love to be able to link this guy to their political opponents.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: I wonder if Senator Schumer has talked to Prince in heaven, find out what Prince thinks about all of this. This is Prince, the bumper rotation here, 1999. And we start on the phones in Pittsburgh, the home of a bit of a contretemps going on between Antonio Brown and Ben Roethlisberger, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dave, great to have you, sir. How are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thanks for having me on, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have a point here about the Vegas shooter. It seems the left does not believe in evil, unless of course you\u2019re a Trump supporter, then you\u2019re racist, sexist, bigot, or you disagree with the left then you\u2019re pure evil. But even the shooter who massacred all these people, the left does not see him as evil. In fact, they\u2019re blaming everything and everybody else.<\/p>\n

\"\"They blame guns. They\u2019re blaming the NRA. They\u2019re blaming bump stock. They\u2019re even starting to blame the hotel staff because they didn\u2019t call the cops because he brought too much luggage in, they\u2019re getting blamed. And the only thing that they really want is they want to find some way to link this to Trump somehow or to the right, then they can blame Trump and call him a murderer and blame him for the whole entire thing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re right. They don\u2019t want to call him a murderer. They want to say he doesn\u2019t care. They want to say he\u2019s beholden to the NRA, that it\u2019s the NRA that\u2019s killing people and the NRA doesn\u2019t care, and because the NRA gives all kind of money to Republicans — and they give a lot to Democrats, too, by the way — that they don\u2019t care. That\u2019s what they want to say. You\u2019re absolutely right.<\/p>\n

The left sees evil everywhere, in all the wrong places. Every political opponent of theirs is not just a political opponent. He or she is evil. And that decision is what permits the left to do anything they can to defeat them. If you\u2019re stamping out evil, there are no boundaries, there are no limits on what you should do, not can do. And that\u2019s how they believe it.<\/p>\n

Folks, I just want to tell you again here, what Chuck Schumer did on the floor of the Senate today is so unprofessional, “outrageous” doesn\u2019t even cover it. To attempt on the floor of the United States Senate, to attempt to say that if he could talk to the dead from Las Vegas, that they would be saying, “Get the NRA.” Grab the sound bite again. Here it is. Audio sound bite number 1. This is what we\u2019re up against, folks. Here it is.<\/p>\n

SCHUMER: If we could talk to those brave souls who were killed and are now in heaven, they would say, “Do something.” They wouldn\u2019t say, “Let\u2019s wait.” President Trump, are you gonna wait to hear what the NRA says first?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Stop the tape. Wait a minute. I thought the attendees were all country western fans and that means they\u2019re all Trump fans, so why would they be blaming Trump, Senator Schumer? Here\u2019s the Democrat Party invoking heaven, number one, is a bit of a stretch to me. But number two, Senator Schumer, the NRA doesn\u2019t kill anybody. The NRA does not have locations where you can go and have them kill something that you find inconvenient.<\/p>\n

The NRA\u2019s never killed anybody. Being beholden to the NRA? How about being beholden to Planned Parenthood, Senator? How about channeling all of the multiple millions of dead babies in heaven and asking them what they think of the Planned Parenthood abortion centers and how if anybody waits to hear what Planned Parenthood says, it\u2019s you people in the Democrat Party. Are you gonna be the first in your party, Senator, to buck Planned Parenthood? If it\u2019s death that you\u2019re worried about, if it\u2019s death that you are so horribly offended by, there\u2019s a lot of places you can go besides the NRA, which doesn\u2019t kill anybody.<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t even advocate for the killing of anybody under the guise of some other right. I don\u2019t know what you call that. I mean, if we could talk to those brave souls who were killed and are now in heaven, they would say, “Do something” to President Trump and “do something about the NRA.” Grab sound bite number three. The insanity continued last night on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n

\"\"HILLARY: I can\u2019t believe that one whole political party in the greatest country on earth is totally sold to the gun lobby and will do whatever they are ordered to do, despite the loss of life. I mean, one of the first things that, you know, Trump signed as president was to reverse President Obama\u2019s order that people with serious mental health problems should not be able to buy guns. And so he signed it, and aren\u2019t you happy that people we already know who have mental health problems can now buy guns.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s just simply not true. It\u2019s Mrs. Clinton who may be mentally ill. That just isn\u2019t true. But once again, it\u2019s Mrs. Clinton who is a member of a party totally sold to the abortion lobby and will do whatever they are ordered to do by that abortion lobby, Planned Parenthood, despite the loss of life. Mrs. Clinton, you\u2019re the ones that have the explaining here to do, not the NRA.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, folks, on second thought, it may not be all that strange that Senator Schumer thinks that he can speak with and for the dead, because we know that the dead routinely vote for the Democrats every two or four years.
