Pleasure to speak to you.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: The focus of the so-called Walter Reed scandal is not that the military or the Bush administration are abusing our servicemen. The way the libs are caterwauling, they\u2019re pretending like it\u2019s Gitmo North up there. The focus needs to be and should be, if you listen to the comments of people that are complaining, is the bureaucrat hell that everything that is government run. I\u2019ve been active duty for nine years and every time I come out of an appointment or dealing with anything with the medical service &#8212; it\u2019s through no fault of the people in there &#8212; it\u2019s a bureaucratic nightmare every time.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Exactly right and this is an excellent point which is why I made it in a morning update a couple of days ago. If you want government-run health care, if you want to see what it\u2019s going to be like, take a look at the mess that supposedly exists at Walter Reed and some of these other hospitals. It\u2019s classic. It\u2019s not necessary, though, to look at Walter Reed. You can look at the Canadian system or the British system, and you can see the same thing. What the left, however, what the Democrats are going to do &#8212; and it\u2019s funny, too, because they always point to the VA and related agencies as being great examples of how things should be run. Of course, talk to veterans who have to deal with the VA and you\u2019re going to get a different story. What they\u2019re going to do is they\u2019re going to look at this and they\u2019re going to point to it and they\u2019re going to say, &amp;ldquo;This is why we need the government in charge, not the Army&amp;rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>Of course, doofuses around the country go, &amp;ldquo;Yeah, yeah, yeah! That stupid Army can\u2019t do anything. They can\u2019t win in Iraq, can\u2019t beat terror. Yeah, I hate the Army. Yeah, get the Army out of it. Put the government in!&amp;rdquo; There are people the left has done this to. They\u2019ve weaned people to think the government\u2019s the answer to everything, and so they\u2019re going to use this. Hillary\u2019s already made reference to the squalid so-called conditions at Walter Reed as an example why we need the government to step in, when in fact this is the government!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: Tucson, Arizona.
