RUSH: Thank you very much. I really appreciate that being under assault the way I am today. I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have a quick question. And, first and foremost, I am a conservative, and I am for Trump. I need to know, though, because liberals throw it in my face. We talk about how what President Obama did with his executive orders, and specifically the DACA, how it was illegal and he did not have the right to do it. What is the difference between what he did and what President Trump is doing with his executive orders? Are Trump\u2019s executive orders legal but the DACA was illegal?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, it\u2019s a good question. It\u2019s a very studied question. It\u2019s not true in all cases, but most of Trump\u2019s executive orders are simply rolling back Obama executive orders.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n
RUSH: He\u2019s rolling back all of Obama\u2019s executive orders on regulations, the EPA. I mean, Obama did more than you\u2019d ever know. I mean, a lot of what Obama did with executive actions and odors and phone calls, it wasn\u2019t reported. And if it was reported, it was celebrated. The media loved Obama. Whatever he was doing was unassailable; it was great. A lot of what Trump has done has been to roll back, like reducing the regulations, like enforcing immigration law. That\u2019s all Trump has done. He\u2019s not invented new law. Obama made sure that federal immigration law was not being enforced. Trump\u2019s done the opposite.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, I\u2019m sure Trump\u2019s had some executive orders that some people might say are extraconstitutional. I can\u2019t think of what they are off the top of my head, but I\u2019m not gonna sit here and tell you there aren\u2019t any. But Obama\u2019s were almost entirely done because he couldn\u2019t get the legislation he needed passed, so he went ahead and did it. Obama knew the media wasn\u2019t gonna rip him. Obama knew the Democrats were gonna support him. Obama knew the Republicans were not gonna be serious ripping him, and if they did, the media wasn\u2019t gonna promote it. Obama had a free rein on this. What Obama did the Iran deal, some of this stuff has got to be rolled back and changed. In fact, there\u2019s a couple things I have in the Stack today that actually address this, if I have time to get to it all. But do you have a point beyond that or was that just your question?<\/p>\n
CALLER: No. Just a question. I really didn\u2019t understand that. But thank you. I appreciate that.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You bet. You bet. We\u2019ll find out. I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll hear from people who think Trump has gone outside Constitution. But even the Drive-Bys have not alleged that. They go after Trump, “He doesn\u2019t even know what he\u2019s doing. He\u2019s an idiot. He\u2019s stupid. He\u2019s orange. He\u2019s a pig.” But they haven\u2019t said that what he\u2019s doing is — the travel ban, you know, that was not unconstitutional. That was entirely legal. It was the judiciary that behaved unconstitutionally there by denying him. He\u2019s got federal statutory law behind him a hundred percent in that travel ban that liberal judges tried to stop. So I think he\u2019s on pretty safe ground in that area. I wouldn\u2019t worry about that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
