Because the media is reacting as though Trump lied and distorted and did so outrageously. And the media is beside itself. But as you go through each one of these things, what you\u2019ll find is that Trump told the truth. He didn\u2019t make anything up.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll start with this. &#8220;What about the Alt-Left that came charging in?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Excuse me, excuse me,&#8221; the media started shouting the moment he said it.<img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-244739\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TrumpTrumpTower2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TrumpTrumpTower2.jpg 594w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/TrumpTrumpTower2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What about the Alt-Left that came charging in, as you call them the Alt-Right. Do they have any semblance of guilt? Let me ask you this. What about the fact they came charging in with clubs in hands, swinging clubs, do they have any problem? I think they do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>They did. Antifa is armed. Antifa didn\u2019t show up with daisies and flowers. Antifa shows up looking like Ninjas, and they were wielding clubs. They didn\u2019t have a permit. They came to start trouble. It\u2019s what they do. You can\u2019t say this, folks. You can\u2019t say this. Trump said this and look what they\u2019re doing to him. This is outrageous. You can\u2019t say it.<\/p>\n<p>Trump then said, &#8220;I\u2019m not finished. I\u2019m not finished, fake news,&#8221; \u2019cause Jim Acosta was trying to ask him a question. He said, &#8220;You had a group on side that was bad and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. Nobody wants to say it, but I\u2019ll say it right now.&#8221; Anything wrong with that, folks? Anything factually wrong or incorrect about that? &#8220;You had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. Nobody wants to say that, but I\u2019ll say it right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You see, in the media world, the left has moral authority. Antifa, Occupy Wall Street, they have moral authority because they\u2019re victims. They\u2019re victims of whoever the right-wing marchers were. They\u2019re victims of me, they\u2019re victims of you, they\u2019re victims of America, and because they\u2019re victims, they are permitted to do anything to redress their grievances. They are permitted to engage in violence.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2017\/08\/16\/republicans-are-being-tricked-into-conferring-100-moral-authority-on-militant-leftist-protesters\/\">Washington Post has an op-ed today encouraging them to violence<\/a>, claiming that markets and words will not overcome white supremacy. How many white supremacists are there in this country? How many Nazis are there? How many members of the Klan? They\u2019re not enough to elect anybody. It\u2019s an infinitesimal number, and yet if you pay attention to the media, you would be led to believe that a significant portion of the Republican voter base is nothing but Nazis, white supremacists, and members of the Klan.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5s5Mp2Ge3Wg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And I\u2019ll tell you right now, it\u2019s damn frustrating and it ticks me off to see cowardly right-wingers abandon this cause because they don\u2019t have the ability to stand up and oppose this. They would rather not be tainted by the allegation, &#8220;Well, you know, we\u2019re conservatives and they\u2019re really making it look like we\u2019re all a bunch of Nazis, I can\u2019t stand that,&#8221; so you join the left. There aren\u2019t enough of these people to elect anybody. There aren\u2019t enough of these people to sustain the subscription of a conservative magazine.<\/p>\n<p>There aren\u2019t enough of these people to make a sizable audience for any serious radio talk show. There aren\u2019t enough of these people that would make anywhere near a big enough audience for a television network to survive. There aren\u2019t enough of these people to get anywhere near close, I mean, anywhere near close to the smallest number of people it would take to elect somebody to something.<\/p>\n<p>And yet the media and the Democrat Party and all other of these groups on the left continue to get away with portraying these actual extreme, far left-wingers in the case of the Nazis, as mainstream conservative Republicans. And you got guys like Mitt Romney coming along furthering the belief by siding with the people making that allegation, what are you gonna do? Anyway, just a sample. There\u2019s more of what Trump said that I want to go through with you line-by-line as we continue.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: What you\u2019re looking at here is Barack Obama community organizing, and it\u2019s being portrayed as legitimate protests conducted by morally superior people very simply repelled and repulsed by the piggish Donald Trump, racist, bigot Nazi, and so are you who voted for him.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Let us go back to that and recite some more things that Trump said. &#8220;I\u2019ve condemned neo-Nazis, I\u2019ve condemned many different groups, but not all those people were neo-Nazis. Believe me, not all those people were white supremacists by any stretch.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That is throwing gasoline on a match or a match on gasoline. The Drive-Bys cannot abide this happen they think that\u2019s insane. They think that\u2019s absolutely crazy. &#8216;Cause of course the picture they\u2019re painting is not only was everybody at the march in Charlottesville a racist, neo-Nazi pig. Everybody who voted for Trump is too.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said, &#8220;This week it\u2019s Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson statue\u2019s coming down. I wonder, is it George Washington next week? Is it Thomas Jefferson the week after? You really do have to ask yourself, when does it stop?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Exactly right. And, in fact, it is Thomas Jefferson. They\u2019re trying to shut down the University Virginia now. They\u2019re trying to shut down Monticello. They\u2019re trying to go after George Washington. We got the stories in the Stack today. They want to go after George Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Folks, this is not about going after George Washington or Thomas Jefferson. These people are targeting the United States of America as founded. And it\u2019s not about slavery. That\u2019s the vehicle. That\u2019s where they think they can get all kinds of support. Nobody wants to stand up for slavery. Nobody wants to speak positively of slavery. So you go after slavery and you\u2019re gonna automatically have massive numbers of people agree with you.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s much easier to tell people we\u2019ve got to get rid of our slave past, than to say, we want to transform this country into something it was never intended to be. If that\u2019s what they told you they were gonna do, you wouldn\u2019t be supporting \u2019em, just like you wouldn\u2019t have elected Obama if he had told you what his actual agenda was like. And I don\u2019t discount Obama and elements of his administration being involved in all of this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2017\/08\/16\/americas-mad-dash-to-tear-down-statues\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-244584\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/SharptonJefferson-Memorial.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/SharptonJefferson-Memorial.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/SharptonJefferson-Memorial-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>This is community organizing 101, what you\u2019re watching here. This is Saul Alinskyism on parade being portrayed as spontaneous, heartfelt, loving and doting and for equality and anti-racist and anti- this and anti- that. And it\u2019s bought and paid for, and in many cases it is organized. The whole thing is organized, from the vagina hat protest the day after the election to the airport protests after the travel ban to this, all organized.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said, &#8220;I think race relations have gotten better or the same. Look, they\u2019ve been frayed for a long time, and you can ask President Obama about that. He\u2019s made speeches about it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Did you see that? Trump is saying it\u2019s not bad. He\u2019s not saying it\u2019s bad. He\u2019s saying it\u2019s just as bad with Obama.&#8221; Oh, those are fighting words. You tell people that racism was just as bad during Obama. In fact, not only is he right, he\u2019s underselling it. Race relations got worse under Obama, and the evidence is right in front of our face today. Race relations frayed deeply under Obama, and I, El Rushbo, predicted that very thing to you, and I have been vindicated as being accurate in that prediction.<\/p>\n<p>There was no way race relations were going to improve, for a whole host of reasons. A, Obama could not &#8212; no president can &#8212; address the grievances and fix them. Number two, any criticism of Obama and many critics would be valid, he\u2019s the president. Presidents always have critics. Presidents are never universally popular, but criticizing Obama, why, that was said to be racist. And so the charge of racism increased individually, personally. More and more people were tagged as racists because they simply wouldn\u2019t let Obama be Obama.<\/p>\n<p>And so frayed relations continue to fray, and they got worse. &#8216;Cause Obama did not have as his first priority redressing black grievances. That\u2019s not what his ostensible agenda was. He had to give voice to it, but that\u2019s not what he was about. And over time, a number of African-Americans began to conclude or realize that. Their lives didn\u2019t change appreciably for the better. They still had the same complaints about bigotry and racism as when Obama was not in the White House.<\/p>\n<p>The claims, the accusations, the allegations of racism actually increased with Obama in the White House. You can\u2019t say it got better. What else did Trump say? &#8220;George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So will George Washington now lose his statue? Are we gonna take down statues of George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? What do you think of Thomas Jefferson, do you like him?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He was shouting at the media. &#8220;You\u2019re changing history, you\u2019re changing culture. You had people, I\u2019m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they could be condemned totally. But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.&#8221; It\u2019s all true. Nothing controversial with that.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You had a lot of people in that group that were there to innocently protest and very legally protest. I don\u2019t know if you know, they had a permit. That other group didn\u2019t have a permit.&#8221; Oh, no, you criticize the left wing, the morally superior group, didn\u2019t have a permit, you can\u2019t do that. Trump did not say anything yesterday that wasn\u2019t true. He did not lie about anything, and he wasn\u2019t insensitive. He didn\u2019t say anything that wasn\u2019t true.
