RUSH: It\u2019s wonderful to have you here.<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: Well, thank you. Here\u2019s what I wanted to call about: I have been trying to figure out exactly why John McCain seems so resistant to so much of what everything Trump was trying to accomplish and at the same time present himself as a loyal GOP senator. And I heard him about three weeks ago on Face the Nation, Chris Wallace was interviewing him, and Chris said, “John, do you think that the health care bill coming up for a vote will finally pass?”<\/p>\n

And McCain said, “No, I don\u2019t.” But then he made this comment. “But I thought I was going to be president and I was wrong about that too.” I thought, bam, that\u2019s it right there. He is so ticked off because he did not get elected president, he is going to fight everybody.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You may have a point. I have not met Senator McCain. So I only know of Senator McCain the way anybody else who hasn\u2019t met him has, is media consumption and people who have met talk about him. I don\u2019t know if he has any lingering bitterness over losing the presidency. Maybe the fact that Trump did win kind of frosts him a little bit. I can see that.<\/p>\n

I actually think, though, Colleen, that what is grating on Senator McCain is candidate Trump suggesting that he has no respect for military people who get captured. He respects military men who evade capture. Of course, McCain was captured. That was a direct hit at McCain. I don\u2019t think McCain will ever get over that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
