RUSH: But men acting as men is a problem. We need a commissioner. We need somebody to step in here and stop it. We need educational seminars. We need rehab. We need any number of things to get this masculinity off of our campus.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hang on a minute. Can you hold on through the break? I hope you can, because I\u2019ve gotta go right now. Don\u2019t go away.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I want to go back to Angela in New Iberia, Louisiana. We had not much time and she had to really race through her point. She was calling in reaction to the news from Princeton that they\u2019re setting up a person to guard against and advise against and to rehabilitate men that are too masculine on campus. “Princeton University\u2019s ‘Men\u2019s Engagement Manager\u2019 to Battle Aggressive Masculinity,” which Angela here thinks they\u2019re essentially going after men who behave as designed. Correct?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir. Exactly.<\/p>\n
RUSH: So run through that again, your litany of things, \u2019cause I didn\u2019t get a chance to react to you and —<\/p>\n
CALLER: Okay, Rush. I just really feel like this is the downfall of our society because in this day and age, men are not allowed to be real men. Women are not allowed to be feminine. They\u2019re not allowed to take care of their husbands. They\u2019re looked down on if they enjoy doing that. They\u2019re not allowed to be submissive to their husbands, and no one can control the children. The children are basically running everything.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Now, okay, some of that you might be painting with a little bit of a broad brush, but I nevertheless get the point. There is an assault so what you and I would call normal male behavior.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It\u2019s manifesting itself now as an assault on masculinity.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: There\u2019s a dearth of them. You\u2019re right. I\u2019ve seen story after story, women can\u2019t find men. There\u2019s not enough choose from. There\u2019s a shortage of these kind of men. Because men will always do what they think they have to do to attract women.<\/p>\n CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n RUSH: And if the news tells them that you gotta be more like a Pajama Boy and not be masculine, that\u2019s what men will do. They\u2019ll try to act whatever way they think they have to to get women because that\u2019s the pursuit, and that\u2019s how stuff works on men. Of course, you have some men who say, “Screw that! I\u2019m gonna keep going. I\u2019m not turn myself into whatever they want in men.” Those are the men that women actually end up with after experimenting with this liberal playground stuff, and there aren\u2019t very many of them on balance. Because, as I say, men will readily do what they think they have to do to attract women or to be approved by women, whatever.<\/p>\n CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: Now, your bit about the kids. What do you mean the kids are running everything?<\/p>\n CALLER: In most households in this country, I believe the children are running the house. They tell their parents when they want to eat, what they want to eat, when they want to go to bed, what they want to do. Nobody feels like they have the authority to raise their children anymore and to be the one to tell the children what to do.<\/p>\n CALLER: I really do, Rush. Sadly, I really do.<\/p>\n RUSH: Why do you think that\u2019s happened?<\/p>\n CALLER: Why do I think it\u2019s happened?<\/p>\n RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n CALLER: Um, probably because of the way that everything is just out of Bible order.<\/p>\n RUSH: Ahhh.<\/p>\n CALLER: Again, the husband is not the head of the house.<\/p>\n RUSH: Ah.<\/p>\n CALLER: The woman is not submissive to the husband.<\/p>\n RUSH: What do you mean by “submissive”? I guarantee you that there are a lot of women who are not feminists in the sense that we\u2019re talking, who when they hear you say “submissive,” that\u2019s not okay. They don\u2019t want to be submissive.<\/p>\n CALLER: Well —<\/p>\n RUSH: What do you mean by “submissive”?<\/p>\n CALLER: I believe that the husband should be the head of the house and responsible for the family, and that the woman should do whatever her husband wants her to do.<\/p>\n CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: It\u2019s not superior status and secondary status.<\/p>\n CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n RUSH: It\u2019s not… The way you mean it is not a put-down of women. The man\u2019s, the husband\u2019s responsibility is X; the wife\u2019s is X.<\/p>\n CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: It\u2019s like in the Bible humans have been given dominion over the animals.<\/p>\n CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n RUSH: We name them. We are allowed to capture them, cage them, use them, test them, whatever. Your belief is the same thing with families, that the father is the head of the household.<\/p>\n CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n RUSH: You know, in practice, I have found — and not just my own experience. I\u2019ve always believed that in a civilized society that the women of households have much more power than sometimes they realize, but than many others do. I mean, women — because of the biological nature, creation, pursuit and all this. Women have so much power over men. The problem with feminism — and I mean in a good way.<\/p>\n CALLER: Exactly. I agree with you, Rush.<\/p>\n RUSH: I\u2019m not talking about oppressive power.<\/p>\n CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: It\u2019s just… (sigh) The household\u2019s gonna run the way the woman wants it to run. Now, there are exceptions to all this. I mean, some women are unhappy at home and want to be out working, and some don\u2019t want to have kids right off the bat. But on balance here, virtually… (sigh) I don\u2019t want to give stuff away here, but how many times…? Every time I call a guy I know who is married and say, “Hey, you wanna go out?” he says, “I gotta check with the wife first.” It\u2019s a matter of respect, it\u2019s a power situation, and I don\u2019t find anything wrong with it. This is what I mean by the basic human nature that the feminists and leftists don\u2019t like and are trying to basically alter. When you say “submissive,” you don\u2019t mean dominated and dominating.<\/p>\n CALLER: No, Rush, I don\u2019t. My husband… I try to submit to my husband and do whatever it is that he wishes me to do. But my husband is not a dominating, hateful man.<\/p>\n RUSH: Well, what if he wants you to do something you don\u2019t want to do?<\/p>\n CALLER: I would talk to him about it. We\u2019d discuss it.<\/p>\n RUSH: So you\u2019re not a prisoner.<\/p>\n CALLER: Oh no! No. No, no, no, no, no.<\/p>\n RUSH: All right. I just want people to understand that.<\/p>\n CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: I think a lot of people don\u2019t understand religious people who are devout believers when they start talking about this.<\/p>\n CALLER: No.<\/p>\n RUSH: The terms confuse them and they maybe think you mean something that you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n CALLER: No. I mean, really, Rush, I have tried… We\u2019re gonna married 27 years in September, and I have tried to just mold my life around him, whatever. You know, to make him happy, to help him.<\/p>\n CALLER: Ohhhh. If he\u2019s not happy and there\u2019s nothing I can do about it, I leave him alone and let him work it out. But what I mean is, I take care of him, I take care of him. I look out for his needs and I try to make him as happy as he can be.<\/p>\n RUSH: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Does he do the same for you?<\/p>\n CALLER: Oh, yes, he does.<\/p>\n RUSH: So it\u2019s not a one-way street with you.<\/p>\n CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: Some people might think you\u2019re painting a picture here where you might be a subservient wife with no power.<\/p>\n CALLER: No.<\/p>\n RUSH: He says, “Get me my slippers!” and there you go off and get the slippers. “Rub my feet!” and there you are rubbing his feet. You\u2019re not talking about that.<\/p>\n CALLER: No. Although I would do that for him if he asked me to.<\/p>\n RUSH: You\u2019ve been married 27 years, you say?<\/p>\n CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n RUSH: May I — you don\u2019t have to answer this, and I\u2019m asking just for the study aspects. How old are you?<\/p>\n CALLER: I\u2019m 48 years old.<\/p>\n RUSH: Forty-eight, I\u2019m telling you, there are a lot of men listening to this saying, “If only.” Don\u2019t doubt me on this. Did you and your husband go to college?<\/p>\n CALLER: Yes, sir, we did.<\/p>\n RUSH: What universities?<\/p>\n CALLER: We went to a private Christian college.<\/p>\n RUSH: A-ha. A-ha. Well, I\u2019m glad, Angela, that you were able to hold on through the break there, \u2019cause I knew I wanted you to explain this. Her basic belief is because these things have broken down, that the culture\u2019s in trouble. And when the kids start running the show that is a problem \u2019cause the kids haven\u2019t lived long enough to have accrued enough experience to know right and wrong.<\/p>\n CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: Better than their parents do.<\/p>\n CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n RUSH: But, yeah, Mr. Snerdley wants to know if your husband realizes how lucky he is?<\/p>\n CALLER: He tells me all the time.<\/p>\n RUSH: That he appreciates you?<\/p>\n CALLER: Oh, yes, he does.<\/p>\n RUSH: And you two have never contemplated divorce after a big knock-down, drag-out?<\/p>\n CALLER: Oh, no, never.<\/p>\n RUSH: Never. And how many children do you have?<\/p>\n CALLER: We have one daughter.<\/p>\n RUSH: How old is she?<\/p>\n CALLER: She\u2019s grown. Liberal women do. I mean, those are “real” men to them. But a lot of women are rejecting it. For public consumption is one thing.
