RUSH: Now the polling data is starting to come out, part of what Mr. Snerdley says is all hell breaking loose in the last 24 hours. Reuters, barely able to contain themselves here<\/a>: “About one in eight people who voted for President Donald Trump said they are not sure they would do so again after witnessing Trump\u2019s tumultuous first six months in office.” This is a Reuters poll of 2016 voters. They have been salivating over this, by the way. I think they\u2019ve been polling this since the beginning of time, since the beginning of the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

\"\"I think since Trump was inaugurated the media\u2019s been out there polling this. They haven\u2019t gotten the result that they trust they could go with and use, but finally now they think they do. I think the Drive-Bys have wanted to make this claim for years, at least a couple years. I think they\u2019ve wanted to make the claim, especially since last November, that a bunch of Trump voters regret it. I\u2019m sure they\u2019ve been polling it, I\u2019m sure they haven\u2019t had satisfactory answers. But now they\u2019ve been able to produce a poll that gives them the data that one out of eight people that voted for Trump now wishes they could change their vote.<\/p>\n

I guess they came up with a way to word the questions to get the response they have been desiring for so long. But even then it\u2019s preposterous. I think in any election one out of every eight people would have doubts about the way they voted. I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything new or specific to Trump here. If you take any election, go back to 2008.<\/p>\n

You know, go poll the Obama election six months later, how many people would tell you they regret voting for Obama? It would be more than one in eight, I guarantee you. There\u2019s nothing phenomenal here. There\u2019s nothing unique here. There\u2019s nothing new. But of course it\u2019s presented in the exact opposite fashion.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, one note on the Reuters poll that shows one-eighth, one out of every eight Trump voters regrets it. By the way, how did they get that result? This is Reuters, by the way. Let\u2019s it is not forget that they were among the worst in the presidential preference polls. They one time had a sample of plus 20 women.<\/p>\n

But one of the poll analysts out there that spends a lot of time doing this, a guy named Bill Mitchell, and he said (paraphrasing), “How do they come up with one out of eight Trump voters losing support? Easy. They didn\u2019t poll anybody in Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania. Look at the sample. They polled San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York!” He claims that the poll actually shows expanding support for Trump compared to the previous Reuters poll.
