RUSH: As you know, for the bulk of this week and much of last week I have been focusing on the assault on American civilization<\/a>, American culture, Western civilization. And I\u2019ve been bouncing off of what I call a triumphant speech that Trump gave in Poland about this. And we\u2019ve been talking about the sheer hatred and panic that Trump\u2019s speech was greeted with by people on the left who despise American culture. And I ran into a very, very good piece about American civilization, Western civilization over on Townhall by Kurt Schlichter, and I want to share it with you when we get back.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Kurt Schlichter has a piece at Townhall<\/a>, and it\u2019s on Western civilization, culture, bouncing off Trump\u2019s speech as well. It\u2019s called, “Liberals Can\u2019t Deal with a President Who Takes America\u2019s Side,” and he starts out throwing bombs. “Let me throw down this marker,” Mr. Schlichter begins — and it might be Schliketer: I\u2019m not sure how he pronounces it. I\u2019ve seen this name spelled as it is pronounced Schlichter which is why I\u2019m pronouncing it that way. But I will allow that he might pronounce it differently.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>“Let me throw down this marker: The West is superior to the rest of the world in every significant way, we should aggressively back our allies over our enemies, and the guiding principle of our foreign policy should always be America\u2019s interests. No apologies. No equivocation. No doubt. What are your questions? Well, if you\u2019re a normal American, you won\u2019t have any questions,” over these assertions. Writes Mr. Schlichter, “[T]hese truths are self-evident.<\/p>\n

“But if you\u2019re a progressive,” if you\u2019re a liberal, “you\u2019re gonna have a little sissy snit fit like so many libs did in the wake of the president\u2019s triumphant Warsaw speech. There\u2019s one thing that always sets them off — uttering the truth\/heresy that not only is Western civilization the best and most advanced culture in the history of humanity, but the United States of America is its greatest manifestation.” You can tell why I like this, right? I\u2019ve stated this in my own words on so many previous occasions, so I like the way this has been put together.<\/p>\n

“[N]ot only is Western civilization the best and most advanced culture in the history of humanity, but the United States of America is its greatest manifestation. The immigrants and refugees get it. Which way are they always headed? North — to the comparative paradise of the Western world — or south, to the hellscape of the Third World?” Where do they go? “That\u2019s a gimme. They are never headed south, and everyone knows it. Yet the left still insists that we stop believing our lying eyes and start believing the liberal Fifth Column of multicultural liars infesting America\u2019s alleged elite.<\/p>\n

“Except our eyes aren\u2019t lying, and now we have a president who won\u2019t lie either. It makes them nuts. Can you imagine Felonia von Pantsuit uttering the glorious words our Commander-In-Chief spoke to our steadfast, loyal Polish brothers-in-arms? No, [Felonia von Pantsuit] would have continued Obama\u2019s despicable sellout of these sturdy heroes, leaving them to the mercy of her reset buddy Vlad” Putin. That\u2019s a good point. Do you think Putin likes Poland? You don\u2019t think Putin would like to control Poland? And here\u2019s Trump, who supposedly colluded with Putin, praising Poland and promising to protect it?<\/p>\n

“So, while Trump was reciting manifest truths like the fact that Western civilization is the height of human achievement and worth fighting and dying for, the liberals were their own usual enemy-hugging selves — lying and distracting. How dare America\u2019s President stick up for America!” and he\u2019s right. I read to you these quotes from various leftists. Peter Beinart. This Marcotte woman from Salon.com, all of them thinking what Trump said was white nationalist Nazism, in praising Western civilization. It tells you right there what they think of their own country.<\/p>\n

\"\"These leftists think the that their own country, Western civilization, is the problem in the world. It\u2019s white nationalism; it borders on Nazism. It\u2019s punitive. It steals. “One of CNN\u2019s femboys…” I guess that\u2019s one of the anchors: F-E-M-B-O-Y-S. “One of CNN\u2019s femboys was squeeling like a tween about somebody not shaking Trump\u2019s hand, and if channeling the world\u2019s least hot mean girl wasn\u2019t enough, he even botched the story — there was no handshake diss. … Back home, everyone\u2019s favorite Islamic radical apologist and Democrat idol Linda Sansour was flapping her lie hole again, this time declaring that #TheResistance was part and parcel of jihad.<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s sort of true, since jihad and liberalism share in common the fact that they are both practiced by cowardly buffoons who hate normal Americans. … This Sansour idiot symbolizes much of why liberalism is a total failure, rejected by all who are decent and normal.” Are you detecting his theme here, that what the left despises is what is normal in the dominant American culture? And make no mistake: He\u2019s right about this. Overthrowing normalcy and redefining it to include the quirks of fate that make up liberals is exactly one of the reasons why Western culture is under attack.<\/p>\n

“Leftists, especially liberal feminists, drool over [Sansour\u2019s] hatred of normal women who don\u2019t buy into her evil ideology. She is the perfect heroine for a progressive movement that is based solely on self-loathing and a desire to destroy the very culture that allowed its practitioners to be such frivolous clowns in the first place,” and then Mr. Schlichter writes, “It\u2019s their daddy issues playing out on a cultural scale. These liberal scumbags aren\u2019t worthy of respect, and because they don\u2019t get any from us normals, they want revenge — or at least to be noticed by the patriarchy that rejects them. It\u2019s like some spoiled rich girl who tries to get attention by promising to act out when ignored. ‘I\u2019ll show you, Daddy! I\u2019m going to go to college, shave my head, get a big tattoo, and experiment in unsexy lesbianism!'”<\/p>\n

Anyway, it goes on but it\u2019s a raucous defense of Western civilization and his characterization of the people who oppose it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
