RUSH: We know for a fact that the Hillary campaign was getting oppo research on Trump from the Ukrainian government, and that led to Paul Manafort being fired as campaign manager. And nobody in the mainstream media or anywhere else batted an eye about Ukraine helping Hillary.<\/p>\n

And of course the Russian lawyer didn\u2019t help Trump; she isn\u2019t connected with the Russian government anyway. She\u2019s more connected to Fusion GPS than she is to Putin. And Fusion GPS happens to be the group that created the phony Trump golden showers dossier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So, anyway, Jr. E Junior has released the email timeline, and this has got a lot of people panicking because they think that Jr. has just dug his grave and buried himself in it. Because it contains some of the things that I just read.<\/p>\n

“Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday released what he said was the ‘entire email chain\u2019 <\/a>of his conversations setting up a disputed meeting with a Russian attorney, showing what appeared to be an offer to provide information that would ‘incriminate\u2019 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as ‘part of Russia and its government\u2019s support for Mr. Trump.'”<\/p>\n

I go back to what I said at the opening of the program. Think back to all of these stories the past six months. Relive it in your mind, relive it, every day we had something else, every day, and none of them went anywhere. Why are we just hearing about this now? This happened over a year ago. Why are we only hearing about this after every other effort to link Trump and Putin and collusion has bombed out? Why are we just hearing about this now?<\/p>\n

If it is this incriminating, if it is this deadly, if this is the nail in the coffin, why only now are we hearing about this? It\u2019s got all the ingredients of a story except fact. It has all the ingredients necessary to create illusions and write narratives, but it doesn\u2019t have any substance. By that I mean there was no high-level information from Russia. There was no information from the Russian government incriminating Hillary Clinton. None of that was available.<\/p>\n

The woman that showed up claiming to be the Russian lawyer with the information claimed to know nothing about it whatsoever. She was there for a totally different purpose. But you remember the Trump golden showers dossier. It was rummaging around Washington throughout the summer of 2016. It was rummaging around and every media outlet new about it. And none would write it, none would publish it, none would reference it because everybody knew that it was totally fraudulent and totally made up.<\/p>\n

But they desperately wanted it out there, they wanted it. So BuzzFeed came along and published the whole thing with all these caveats saying none of it can be confirmed but this is what\u2019s going around and we think you, the reader, should know, even though it\u2019s all totally lies, every bit of it was bogus. The reason why BuzzFeed did it is because Trump was shown the dossier by intelligence agencies.<\/p>\n

The story was that intel agencies were upset that Trump was not willing to have a meeting with them every day. I guess it\u2019s common for presidents to get an intel briefing every day from the intelligence agencies, you know, one person that takes all the information, puts it in one report and provides it to the president. Trump was out there saying I\u2019ve got a good memory. I don\u2019t need to meet with these people every day.<\/p>\n

So this dossier was presented to Trump by intelligence agencies under the guise of, “Mr. President, this is why you need to meet with us. This is the kind of stuff that will be out there. It\u2019s not true, but this stuff is the kind of stuff that you need to be aware of.” Sorry. Right then it becomes news. It was presented to Trump, Trump saw is it. Story is “Donald Trump today was presented with intel that says,” blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Not that was fake and phony and totally made up, but rather Trump was presented with intel information today that said blah, blah.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And then it\u2019s in the news. Now it\u2019s a story, even though it isn\u2019t true. It\u2019s the same thing here. We have an email from a dubious source who\u2019s now denying that he said this, passing along words from the son of a Trump partner, Miss USA pageant in Russia, claiming there\u2019s high-level information from the Russian government designed to help Trump beat Hillary. Except there isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

None of that news was part of the meeting. Trump Jr. did not hear a syllable of it because none of it was offered. The lawyer that showed up did not have any of that. But now we\u2019ve got a story because there\u2019s an email which said that the Russian government has high-level information designed to harm Hillary Clinton. It doesn\u2019t matter that there isn\u2019t any high-level information. It doesn\u2019t matter that the Russian government did not provide any to this person to pass on to Donald Trump Jr.<\/p>\n

He took the meeting under the premise that it was there and therefore it\u2019s in the news. And so they get the premise out there that there was high-level government information from the Russians designed to hurt Hillary, even though there wasn\u2019t. And that becomes the story. And the story is that Trump took the meeting hoping to hear it, willing to hear it, and that proved collusion. But there wasn\u2019t any information.<\/p>\n

So this is how they get it into the news as a story. They\u2019re still running it at CNN. Anti-Clinton info, very high level, part of Russia and its government support. None of that was passed on. There isn\u2019t any of that! There is not a shred of that in any of this story! What there is in this story about that is that there isn\u2019t any of it. And yet it\u2019s the news. Same thing with the golden showers dossier.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019re gonna start with George in South Windsor, Connecticut. Great to have you, sir. How are you doing?<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: Hey, listen, great to be on. And, you know, having grown up in Sacramento, I love your Rio Linda jokes. You could probably add Yuba City in there, but we\u2019ll leave that for another day. So on its face, if you listen to what\u2019s going on here — and I definitely like your explanation of maybe a possible setup here and everything else — but what we do know is the following: That Bill Clinton did a couple of speeches, got a couple million dollars where? From Russia. We know as secretary of state Hillary Clinton had some sort of really shady uranium deals, right? So then you put all this together, all of a sudden the Trump campaign gets an email saying, “Hey, we\u2019ve got some dirt on the Clintons.” We already know they\u2019re greasy and they\u2019ve colluded and intertwined themselves —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not only that — you\u2019re exactly right — look, this Ukrainian deal and the uranium deal with the Russians and the Clintons, we have documented this so many times, I\u2019m sick of talking about it. Hillary Clinton facilitated the sale of, what, 75% of our uranium stocks to Ukraine all in exchange for money to the Clinton Foundation. If there was an election that was rigged, it was the Democrat primaries. And if there was any collusion, it was between Hillary Clinton and Debbie “Blabbermouth” Schultz.<\/p>\n

And of course none of that is ever mentioned. I know that stuff doesn\u2019t exonerate Junior. What do you want me to do? Do you want me to sit there and say, it\u2019s over? You want me to join the chorus? You want me to do that? I didn\u2019t think so. You guys want to sit in there and be able to cry in your milk, it\u2019s over, it\u2019s over. But you want me to continue to carry the spears. I\u2019m happy to do it.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me check here historical knowledge. Do you remember who it was that briefed Trump on the golden showers dossier and when? Do you remember who it was, Mr. Snerdley? Intelligence agency officials were told. It was none other than James Comey. And we have that from none other than fake news CNN. January 12th, 2017<\/a>, “Breaking news: FBI Director Comey briefed President Trump, President-Elect Trump on a two-page synopsis of Russian claims in a one-on-one conversation Friday, sources close to CNN say.”<\/p>\n

This was a clarification about who had done the briefing, which CNN had reported on January 10th. Later that day, proving my point, later that day, the same day that Comey briefed Trump on the dossier is when BuzzFeed published it, thereby proving my brilliant contention that the way they got the dossier in the news was to present it to Trump. He\u2019s the president-elect. It was intel. Totally fake and made up, but Comey presented it to Trump. “Look, Mr. President, this is the kind of stuff that\u2019s out there.”<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy, then, for the news agencies to say, “President Trump today was briefed on intel that” blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And they\u2019re off to the races, getting fake news, fake intel into a Drive-By narrative story after story after story. The Trump dossier claims that Trump sent Carter Page to Putin to offer to pay the Russians to help them win the election. It\u2019s not just the golden showers part. This dossier claims that Carter Page was sent by Trump to Vladimir Putin to offer to pay the Russians to help Trump win the election.<\/p>\n

\"\"If that were true, Trump would have never been inaugurated. That is a pack of lies. That\u2019s what Comey gave to Trump. Comey showed this to Trump, that legitimizes it. Why, it was shown to the president-elect. That\u2019s news. What was it? Bingo, off to the races. So, in addition to the golden showers — that\u2019s Trump hiring prostitutes to urinate on the bed the Obamas slept in in Moscow — there is also the claim that Trump sent Carter Page to Putin personally to offer to pay the Russians to help \u2019em win. The same day Comey presents it, BuzzFeed prints the whole thing, and then the rest of the Drive-Bys follow.<\/p>\n

Since we\u2019re going back to the archives, let me go back to January 11th and a story from Politico. Here\u2019s the headline: “Ukrainian Efforts to Sabotage Trump Backfire <\/a>— Kiev officials are scrambling to make amends with the president-elect after quietly working to boost Clinton.” It\u2019s by Kenneth Vogel and David Stern, January 11, 2017.<\/p>\n

“Donald Trump wasn\u2019t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country.” Wait, see that lead? There\u2019s no evidence that anybody helped Trump! But they just write that as though it\u2019s common knowledge the Russians colluded with Trump. Folks, I don\u2019t believe this because none of this up to now\u2019s been true. That\u2019s why I think this is all BS, because none of what we had up to now has been true. If it were, it wouldn\u2019t be news today.<\/p>\n

If any of this garbage that they have done is breaking news for the past six months to nine months had been true, this wouldn\u2019t even register on the Richter scale. Trump would already be gone if any of that stuff had been true. None it has been, so why is this? If we\u2019ve had six months, nine months of fake news and lies, why one day do we believe the latest attempt? Well, I don\u2019t! I think this is all a propaganda effort.<\/p>\n

This is the Drive-By Media as the primary power source for the American liberal movement today, not the Democrat Party, and they\u2019re driving this train. And if everything up to now has been bogus, if everything up to now\u2019s been fake news, if everything up to now has been unprovable and there\u2019s nothing to it, why yesterday does this become true? Ask yourself, if you\u2019re falling for it, why? When everything prior to this has been bogus, lies, made up, fake news? Today the Donald Trump Jr. story, “Uh-oh, no, oh, no.”<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re falling for it, you know what it means? It means all this time you\u2019ve thought maybe Trump did it. And I have never, for a second, considered that Trump colluded with the Russians. I have never believed that Putin would do it. I have never believed that Putin cares. I don\u2019t think anybody knows who Putin would prefer, but if you want to play that game, there\u2019s no doubt in my mind he would prefer Hillary. She\u2019s a dunce! She\u2019s willing to give away America! Just like Obama was. If he wants anybody, that\u2019s who he would want.<\/p>\n

\"\"He would not want Trump. He would not want a strong nationalist, America-first guy. He wouldn\u2019t want someone that\u2019s gonna build the military back up. He wouldn\u2019t want somebody that\u2019s gonna deploy missiles in Poland that Obama was not gonna deploy. There\u2019s no sensible explanation for why Putin would want Trump, unless you think Trump\u2019s an absolute dodo bird Bozo that Putin could manipulate, but I\u2019m telling you that person is Hillary Clinton. And it\u2019s already been demonstrated!<\/p>\n

Obama, Hillary, were happy to be subservient to Putin. Obama on the open mic, “Tell Vlad I\u2019ll have a lot more flexibility after the election,” meaning to get rid of American nukes at a more rapid rate. But if you think there\u2019s anything to this Donald Trump Jr. thing it means all this time you\u2019ve thought maybe Trump did it and you were just happy nobody had been able to find any evidence. But you secretly believed he did it if you\u2019re falling for this, because why this and none of the other that\u2019s preceded it?<\/p>\n

Everything that\u2019s come before this was demonstrated to be fake news and a pack of lies, and all of a sudden today this is true, when in fact this is more easily disproven than it is proven! There was no high-level information passed on from the Russian government to Donald Trump Jr. or anybody else. All there was, was an email that nobody has seen claiming that an emissary wanted a meeting because she had some of that. When she shows up, she didn\u2019t have any of it. What is going on here?<\/p>\n

Back to the Ukrainian story. Forget this lead sentence. This is outrageous. “Donald Trump wasn\u2019t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country. Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide [that\u2019s Manafort] in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton\u2019s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.”<\/p>\n

What do we have here? We have proof that the Ukrainians were trying to sabotage Trump. We have proof that they were trying to help Hillary Clinton and that when Trump wins, they backed off, they begged forgiveness and wanted to become friends with Trump so that he would not pay them back.<\/p>\n

There is still no evidence of any kind anywhere that the Russians tried to help Trump and that Trump colluded with them. There isn\u2019t any. There is not a shred, there\u2019s not a syllable, there\u2019s not a vowel, there\u2019s not a consonant of evidence. And yet we know for a fact that Ukraine did try to help Hillary sabotage Trump. Public statements about how he was unfit for office, which details and dovetails with the Hillary Clinton campaign thrust, that Trump was unfit. Here\u2019s Ukrainian officials joining in that claim.<\/p>\n

How come nobody in the Drive-By Media picked up this story back in January? How come nobody remembers this story today? Ukraine tried to sabotage Trump, Ukraine was helping Hillary, Ukraine publicly stating Trump was unfit? So there was collusion between Ukraine, a foreign government, a foreign country. There was collusion between Ukraine and Hillary Clinton to sabotage Trump.<\/p>\n

“A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation. The Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort\u2019s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump\u2019s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine\u2019s foe to the east, Russia.”<\/p>\n

Except there wasn\u2019t any evidence. There was only a narrative. It even says that, advancing the narrative, not the story. Advancing the narrative. In other words, advancing the fiction. Isn\u2019t it amazing how evidence of genuine collusion between Hillary and Ukraine is totally forgotten, never referenced, and Ukraine backs out of it after Trump wins and begs for forgiveness because they don\u2019t want any reciprocity from Trump.<\/p>\n

All of this, plus all of the nothing for nine months, and then this email of nothing to Trump Jr. “Well, this is it Rush. This is it. It\u2019s over. Oh, my God, they got \u2019em, oh, no, I don\u2019t know if I can get up tomorrow. It\u2019s over.” Why you believe this when everything for nine months prior has been an outright lie?<\/p>\n

The media has cried wolf, bear, woolly mammoth so much that I\u2019m numb to it, and their credibility is zero. I don\u2019t care, it doesn\u2019t matter to me. It\u2019s summer, it\u2019s beautiful out, there are things to do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, it\u2019s interesting you say this, because I have to tell you, yesterday and today both, I\u2019ve been conflicted because I\u2019m not comfortable spending this much time on it. I don\u2019t like playing defense like this. I\u2019m sick of it. I\u2019m fed up playing defense. I\u2019m sick and fed up of being forced on defense with this never-ending just line of absolute garbage crap, and yet I feel a compulsion of necessity here.<\/p>\n

But I am like you. I just think it\u2019s all bogus, I think it\u2019s all manufactured, I think it\u2019s all concocted, and it isn\u2019t going to stop. It\u2019s not gonna end, no matter what. They\u2019re gonna do this all four years if they have to. Even if the Republicans win in the midterms in 2018, they\u2019re not going to stop this. It is going to continue.<\/p>\n

The Trump-Russia collusion story will never end. There may be and that comes along that replaces it for a while, but it will be along the same conspiratorial level. But, look, I hear you. I sit here and I ask myself, am I spending too much time defending this.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m conflicted because I feel like there\u2019s a necessity, almost a requirement to defend it, especially this with so many now getting wobbly kneed on our side. I feel compelled here to offer up a perspective that defends it, but then I\u2019m fed up with having to do it. Not that. I\u2019m fed up with doing it. I hear you. Let me ask you a question. You\u2019re out there listening every day. Are you getting tired of even hearing about it here, or is my unique take on it refreshing?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, I told Mr. Snerdley, I told him that I wanted to express to you how much I don\u2019t care, but I thought about it, and the instrument has yet to be created which could adequately measure the depths of my indifference to anything Trump-Russia. And I tuned in today for my daily dose of Rush, and I gotta be honest for you, no offense, but just for a moment I thought you were on vacation and Charlie Brown\u2019s teacher was filling in as a substitute host because I know it\u2019s English, but as soon as we get into that stuff it\u2019s just blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And it turns me off.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me ask you this. Are you avoiding it because you fear it\u2019s true?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. I don\u2019t. You know, it\u2019s even beyond that. I don\u2019t care. You know, Trump — let me put it this way.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Are you telling me that even if Trump colluded, so what, you don\u2019t care?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Define colluded. How do you define it? What, he tried to get some dirt on Hillary? Don\u2019t the candidates all do that? You know, we allow the media, we allow the left in general to define a lot of things. What do you define as colluded? They have so overplayed their hand that I remember back during the campaign, you know, Trump was filling the stadiums, people were going nuts. He was drawing crowds that haven\u2019t been seen since I don\u2019t know when.<\/p>\n

\"\"And he made a stupid joke. He made a stupid joke, something to the effect of, “If I shot somebody in Times Square, my supporters, they wouldn\u2019t care.” Stupid joke. And I gotta tell you, the way they overplayed it, I\u2019m getting to the point where it\u2019s gonna have to be quite a corpse for me to look at if somebody reported something like that. It\u2019s just they\u2019re looking for everything.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, let me just tell you, they\u2019re gonna keep overplaying the hand. There\u2019s so many things about this, though. Trump did not need Russia to beat Hillary. All he needed to beat Hillary was Hillary. Hillary was pathetic! Hillary ran a horrible campaign. Nobody likes her, even the people that were gonna vote for her do not have a connection to her. It was a loyalty to something else, but not to her.<\/p>\n

She took everything for granted. She could not state why she wanted to be elected other than it was her turn, that she was owed. And course she couldn\u2019t say that, so she had to come up with stuff that had no passion. I mean, Trump didn\u2019t need any assistance to beat her. That\u2019s another thing, folks, that is percolating beneath this is that Trump could not have won unless he cheated. And that\u2019s just flat-out bogus as well. Trump did win, against all kinds of odds.<\/p>\n

You look at what was arrayed against Trump, and he still overcame it. That\u2019s what ticks them off here. Anyway. Well, I appreciate your honesty out there, Dirt. I really do.
