{"id":23957,"date":"2006-12-14T01:01:01","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T06:15:29","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-05-19T06:15:29","modified_gmt":"2011-05-19T06:15:29","slug":"finally_court_rules_against_democrats_terrorists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/admin.rushlimbaugh.com\/daily\/2006\/12\/14\/finally_court_rules_against_democrats_terrorists\/","title":{"rendered":"Finally, Court Rules Against Democrats, Terrorists"},"content":{"rendered":"<section>\n<p><BR\/>RUSH: Now, this next story\u2019s a fabulous story, and it\u2019s not getting a lot of play, precisely because it\u2019s a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.iht.com\/articles\/ap\/2006\/12\/13\/america\/NA_GEN_US_Detainees_Lawsuit.php\">fabulous story<\/a>. &#8220;A federal judge,&#8221; and this is a big-time leftist judge, &#8220;upheld the Bush administration\u2019s new terrorism law Wednesday, agreeing that [<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/\/\/home\/eibessential\/illustrating_absurdity\/clubgitmo.html\">Club Gitmo<\/a>] detainees do not have the right to challenge their imprisonment in United States courts. The ruling by US district Judge James Robertson&#8230;&#8221; and this guy is a big lib. I think he\u2019s a Clinton appointee. &#8220;The ruling by US district Judge James Robertson rejects a legal challenge by Salim Ahmed Hamdan, a former driver for Osama bin Laden, whose case prompted the Supreme Court to strike down the Bush administration\u2019s policy on detainees last year. <\/line><BR\/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/limbaugh_legal_division.Par.0002.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"203\" height=\"220\" class=\"alignright\"\/>&#8220;Following that ruling Bush pushed for and got a new law that established military commissions, the tribunals, to try enemy combatants and stripped them of the right to seek their freedom in US courts.&#8221; So the judge, his hands were tied. He had no choice. He said Congress passed a law clearly intending to keep such cases as Hamdan\u2019s out of federal courts, and because of that, he, the judge, no longer has jurisdiction to hear it. &#8220;The ruling is a legal victory for the Bush administration,&#8221; which, it says here, &#8220;has been fending off criticism of the new law from Democrats and civil libertarians.&#8221; Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah. Too bad.
