RUSH: Well, folks, I guess it was only a matter of time. I guess it was inevitable.<\/p>\n

Thirty-seven-year-old Erika Anderson was recently a bride. Her New York City wedding was picture-perfect. She wore a beautiful white dress and walked down the aisle with a bouquet of flowers with the Brooklyn Bridge and New York City skyline behind her.<\/p>\n

Then it was time for Erika to take the big step, which she did willingly. She took her wedding vows, with herself. That\u2019s right, my friends, she married herself. Sologamy is what it\u2019s called. Sologamy.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Anderson is part of a new and growing trend called sologamy. The happy bride later discussed her big day and what it meant to her. \u201cI would describe it as women saying yes to themselves,\u201d she said. \u201cIt means that we are enough, even if we are not partnered with someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before you brush this off as pathetic or the ultimate expression of narcissism, here\u2019s the thing. Mrs. Anderson is not alone, in a manner of speaking. Businesses have sprung up eager to help sologamists create their perfect wedding day. Some companies sell wedding kits, others provide typical services, like photography. The trend is not going away.<\/p>\n

As for Mrs. Anderson, I hope she had a heck of a honeymoon.  I hope somebody gave her some batteries as a wedding gift.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
