I\u2019m glad you called, sir. Great to have you here with us.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Hey, Rush, how you doing today?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Very well, sir. Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: My point is that just leave the press alone, let them show themselves for who they are. Their business is marginalizing and discrediting everybody that disagrees with them while they\u2019re putting themselves on display for what they really are. And I believe they\u2019re marginalizing themselves, and they\u2019re discrediting themselves. All they\u2019re doing right now is spreading propaganda and hateful rhetoric, and most people can see through it.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You really think that? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yeah?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You really think most people see what the Drive-Bys are doing?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-233520\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/RushFlag7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"585\" height=\"275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/RushFlag7.jpg 585w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/RushFlag7-300x141.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 585px) 100vw, 585px\" \/>CALLER: Yeah. I mean, there\u2019s the choir, and they can sing to the choir all they want and they\u2019ll soak it right up, but I believe you have people out there, like Reagan had, with the Reagan Democrats, that want the truth. They want to know what\u2019s really going on in the country and they want what\u2019s best for the country even though they see things slightly different than Republicans do, and I believe this is a huge opportunity for Republicans to take them in, explain who they are and give \u2019em some truth. And people recognize truth, especially compared to all the hate and lies &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Hey, Scott?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Can I ask you &#8212; you don\u2019t have to answer this. I\u2019m just curious for your perspective. Can you tell me how old you are?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I am 53.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Fifty-three! Interesting.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, I would categorize you as an optimist. Most people, by the time they\u2019ve turned 53, have become sort of settled into and defeatist in the idea that the media is ever going to be exposed and weakened. And you seem to think that they\u2019re in the process of doing great damage to themselves with a lot of people.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Oh, they are. They\u2019re turning themselves into the newspapers that you read quick as you\u2019re checking out that you never buy. You know, they\u2019re like &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: They are. I don\u2019t disagree with that. I mean, as I\u2019ve described, I think it\u2019s unhinged, it\u2019s unbalanced, it\u2019s unattached. Detached would be the best word. The question always comes down to, you know, how many people are lapping it all up and buying it. Now, if you look at the NBC\/Wall Street Journal poll on the effect of the Comey firing on Trump, folks, the Trump numbers are not great. I mean, he\u2019s basically sitting here 40% approval. But it\u2019s still 40% after a week of this Comey stuff.<\/p>\n<p>And so it would be okay and logical to conclude that the press hysteria here has not resulted in downward movement for Trump in the polls. And you can see in the reporting of the Wall Street Journal story they\u2019re perplexed by this. I haven\u2019t yet seen the NBC story. It\u2019s the NBC\/Wall Street Journal poll.
