You know, the Jurassic Park anchor from CBS? He used to be on Deface the Nation. He was on CBS This Morning. Gayle King (that\u2019s Oprah\u2019s BFF) said, &#8220;Hey, Bob, is it fair to compare Trump to Nixon?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SCHIEFFER: There are many parallels, uh, to Watergate, but I have to tell you, I think all the way back to the, uh, Kennedy assassination to draw parallels. I was there, as you know. I have always felt if Lee Harvey Oswald had been put on trial, a lot of these conspiracy theories that are still circulating today would have been put at rest then. It is absolutely imperative that Donald Trump find a way to reassure the American people that these questions about Russia are not true, if that is his version. He\u2019s gotta lay it all out. He\u2019s gotta show \u2019em some proof. He\u2019s gotta give \u2019em some reason to believe that these things are not true.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-233353\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/650-051217-Bob-Schieffer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/650-051217-Bob-Schieffer.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/650-051217-Bob-Schieffer-300x144.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/>RUSH: That\u2019s not how it works, Bob! For crying out loud, we\u2019re now gonna compare this to the Kennedy assassination and Oswald? Who\u2019s on the grassy knoll in this story? The Russian ambassador? Who\u2019s up there? That\u2019s why our justice system is the way it is. You cannot prove a negative! The accusers have to be the ones that prove it. Trump can\u2019t prove anything! These clowns&#8230; How in the world can you have proof that you didn\u2019t do something? That\u2019s the whole point. The accusers have to prove it!<\/p>\n<p>And, by the way, Bob, even if there had been a trial, there would still be conspiracy theorists. You know why, Bob? Because Oswald was a commie pinko SOB, and you people in the Northeast were never gonna stand pat for a communist assassinating JFK. You people were always gonna try to trigger this off on some wacko conservative group in Texas. In fact, I think that\u2019s the birth of the modern era of the current crop of liberals. They could not abide the fact that a communist &#8212; they loved the communists back in \u201959. A communist insulted their favorite president?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No way, Mabel! That\u2019s not gonna get a foothold.&#8221; So the day of the assassination, columns on the front page of the New York Times were trying to place Oswald as an extreme right-winger. He wasn\u2019t! He was a communist. If there had been a trial and Oswald has been found&#8230; Well, they wouldn\u2019t have allowed Oswald to be found guilty simply because he was a communist. But if he had been? Pfft! That wouldn\u2019t have stopped any conspiracy theories. There would have been still been a bunch of wackos who said he was a fall guy.<\/p>\n<p>But just this analogy alone!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Trump has to prove there\u2019s nothing to these allegations to shut down all this, otherwise the American people&#8230;? The American people need closure! The American people need to know that Trump didn\u2019t do it!&#8221; How does he prove it, Bob? How would he prove it to you, Bob? What could Trump do to convince you? What would he have to say? What documents would he have to produce? What&#8230;? How would he prove it, Bob? He\u2019s denied it every chance he\u2019s got. You guys, who are alleging it, have yet to produce any evidence.
