RUSH: Sarah Huckabee is doing the White House press briefing today — Sarah Huckabee Sanders — and she is doing a phenomenal job. She is no nonsense. She is confident. She\u2019s unflappable. These people are not in any way, shape, manner, or form rattling her at all. I want to give you an example of something that… They\u2019re asking her the same question over and over. “Why did Trump say a week ago that he had full support for Comey and fired him yesterday? Huh? Huh? Did Sean lie to us last week about that?” ‘Cause Spicer said that.<\/p>\n

\"\"She just looks at these reporters and smiles, and said, “Yeah, you have to get that little dig in. No, of course not,” and then she answered as she has been answering. She went back and talked about how Comey has broken with the chain of command, started assuming control over the Department of Justice when it wasn\u2019t his. She made mention of the fact that his vastly, greatly erroneous claim last week under oath that all kinds of classified documents and emails were being uploaded to Anthony Weiner\u2019s computer by Huma Abedin, when it wasn\u2019t the case.<\/p>\n

And these reporters just will not let it go, and CNN — and one thing else that she said in response to these questions, “Look, you guys are gonna keep asking this question. Let me tell you: We encourage the investigation to continue. Just because Comey isn\u2019t here doesn\u2019t mean the investigation is stopped. The investigation was going on Monday, it was going on yesterday, and it\u2019s going on today. We encourage the investigation to continue. We want to put it behind us. We want to complete it so we can get on with doing the work of turning our country around.”<\/p>\n

\"\"So CNN reports that with a graphic across the bottom of the screen — and she did say that she encourages… (summarized) “We encourage the investigation. We\u2019re not trying to stop the investigation. We would love to see it come to a completion.” CNN referenced that in a snarky way in their graphic of it, trying to make it look like they\u2019ve got something to hide. They want it to end. “We want it to be over because we\u2019re being so damaged by it. We want it to be over!” And she was very clear. She said, “There\u2019s no collusion. You\u2019re not gonna find any because none of it happened. Get your investigation done and over with so we can move on.”<\/p>\n

They characterized it as Sarah Huckabee Sanders trying to say that they\u2019re rattled by it and they hope you guys will finish this so we can be exonerated quickly. It\u2019s just… It\u2019s subtle and it\u2019s snarky, and it ticks me off like I can\u2019t tell you. She\u2019s just trying to answer the questions as best she can. She\u2019s not engaging in any spin. She\u2019s not being impolite or rude in any way, shape, manner, or form, and she\u2019s not flappable. She\u2019s not been caught up. She hasn\u2019t paused. She hasn\u2019t misspoken. She hasn\u2019t had to go back and correct something, and I\u2019m sure it\u2019s irritating them.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m telling you: I\u2019ve been trying to remember during the break if I can recall a political hoax like this, because nothing\u2019s new in the world. Nothing\u2019s new since Genesis. And so everybody in their life thinks history began when they were born. Most people\u2019s historical perspective happened when they were born in the sense that nothing has ever been this bad. “We\u2019ve never gone before this before,” and of course we have. Things have been worse in many ways in the country. But that notwithstanding, I\u2019ve been trying to recall any remembrance of a similar kind of political assertion.<\/p>\n

Maybe the Valerie Plame leak. That was frustrating because we knew who the leaker was and the special counsel didn\u2019t care, and was hell-bent on nailing somebody in the administration. But that was not quite like this. There have been similar things. I mean, the Democrats wouldn\u2019t let go of the war in Iraq and did everything they could to propagandize that. But this is a nothing burger. There literally is nothing there. There is no evidence. There\u2019s not a single person in the world who\u2019s ever said there might be, much less is.<\/p>\n

Maxine Waters is the latest. Do you know she has become the biggest star in the Democrat Party with Millennials? You know, Mr. Snerdley, do you know that she was the big draw at the MTV Music Awards? Maxine Waters got the biggest standing O of anybody at the MTV Music Awards<\/a>! I think they were Sunday night. They call her Auntie Maxine. You know what they like about her? She\u2019s been talking about impeaching Trump. You know, she\u2019s insane herself. She\u2019s a literal lunatic. And they\u2019re eating it up.<\/p>\n

They think she\u2019s God-sent. She\u2019s an oracle! She holds the magic truths. She\u2019s one of the few Democrats willing to say what she says, and these young Millennials are just glomming onto her like you can\u2019t believe. It\u2019s one of the most amazing social science experiments to look at this happen. ‘Cause anybody who knows Maxine Waters (snorts), historically… I mean, even the Democrats laugh at her. You know, she makes up all kinds of things. She\u2019ll be conducting a hearing of some group of CEOs, and she\u2019ll openly say, “We want to take over your businesses. You don\u2019t run \u2019em right. That\u2019s what we want!”<\/p>\n
