As you know, the New England Patriots show up at the White House yesterday to be honored and celebrated by President Trump at the White House. And a late scratch: star quarterback, Tom Brady. “Family issues” cropped up. Brady was not on the original list of six who were not gonna attend. He was, as I say, a late scratch. People then began speculating: What really is going on?<\/p>\nSo Snerdley — and I told everybody. You know, I must have done this during commercial break. I told them what\u2019s going on here, and that\u2019s what Snerdley came in waving. And they didn\u2019t believe me. “Come on! That can\u2019t be!” I said, “We may never know, but I\u2019m telling you, don\u2019t doubt me.” You know, even the people closest to me — who have learned now never to doubt me — still do. It\u2019s amazing I have a strong spine, constitution, sense of self. Otherwise, I\u2019d have been whittled away here to nothing more than a skull full of mush myself. What\u2019s he say here, “family issues”? “Okay, possibly his mother is sick. It was his mother and dad\u2019s anniversary yesterday.” However, what I told them happens to be verified. Read you the headline. “Did Gisele Stop Tom Brady Going to the White House?<\/a> — Supermodel posted an anti-Trump tweet on the day the president hosted her husband\u2019s teammates. Gisele Bundchen posted — and then deleted — a tweet promoting anti-Trump rally. Brazilian supermodel promoted a climate change march in Washington, D.C. Tweet posted the same day her husband, Tom Brady, skipped White House visit…”<\/p>\n I wasn\u2019t even gonna mention it \u2019til Snerdley comes running in here waving around the U.K. Daily Mail<\/a>. “I can\u2019t believe you\u2019re right! You\u2019re right. You\u2019re right again.” And I\u2019m not right about just that.<\/p>\n BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n RUSH: Cape Coral, Florida. Nick, glad you called, sir. How are you?<\/p>\n CALLER: Thank God, really good, Rush. I just wanted to give you a question right off the top of my head. Your implication… Are you implying that this guy, Brady, is such a pusillanimous male that he\u2019s gonna listen to the rantings of a wife who\u2019s obviously not wrapped too tight, believing in this global warming nonsense?<\/p>\n RUSH: (laughing) Sounds like you\u2019re do a lot of implying there, my man. (laughing)<\/p>\n CALLER: I mean, you know —<\/p>\n RUSH: I\u2019m very fascinated by your use of the word —<\/p>\n CALLER: “Pusillanimous.”<\/p>\n CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n RUSH: I\u2019m just saying the keys to certain things sometimes have a price.<\/p>\n CALLER: Yeah, but, Rush, if you\u2019ve got bend over backwards to please somebody who\u2019s obviously unstable? I mean, global warming? Come on. If I told the kid down the block who\u2019s not —<\/p>\n RUSH: Hey! (laughing) I guess I\u2019m gonna have to live in the quicksand today —<\/p>\n CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n RUSH: — if I go everywhere you want me to go there. Look, I didn\u2019t imply anything. I just read a headline: “Did Gisele Stop Brady Going to the…”? Uh, Nick, are you married?<\/p>\n CALLER: (chuckles)<\/p>\n RUSH: Nick, are you married?<\/p>\n CALLER: Yes. Yes, I am.<\/p>\n RUSH: Well, then. (chuckles)<\/p>\n CALLER: My wife… My wife is rational, Rush. I mean, she isn\u2019t a global warming liar. I mean, she doesn\u2019t believe in this nonsense about the Easter bunny and all that stuff. She\u2019s a rational, reasonable, logical woman. This is why I married her.<\/p>\n RUSH: Congratulations.<\/p>\n RUSH: “The guy is not…” Well, look, I… (sigh) Here, once again, I find myself bound by my fame, limited by my fame. This is getting to be a little frustrating for me. (sigh) I mean, it\u2019s not like I can whisper to you people and say, “Hey, psst, keep this between us. You know, just don\u2019t tell anybody.” (laughing) You know, how sensible would that be? I wasn\u2019t meaning to imply anything, and intelligence guided by experience leads me to believe that there is greater than 50-50 possibility this story\u2019s accurate.<\/p>\n That\u2019s not based on the specifics of the people involved. That\u2019s simply based on the way things happen and the way things are. The situation you described in your marriage could be quite rare, actually. You know, my belief, my theory, my philosophy. I\u2019ve shared it with people constantly. In civilized societies, in civilized circumstances, women are the power. Women run the show.<\/p>\n It is women who say “yes” and “no.” There are exceptions, of course, to everything. This is one of the reasons why I\u2019ve been so fascinated — and, frankly, puzzled — by the feminist movement. But, anyway, enough of that. Nick, I appreciate the call. Thanks much. Nice try. The Daily Mail (shuffling paper) has a story here says that Gisele Bundchen stopped Brady from going to the White House because she\u2019s anti-Trump, pro-global warming, and didn\u2019t want him going. So this led to a discussion here on the program where some guy called and thought that Brady was being very “pusillanimous” about this. But it led to a discussion of, do wives really dictate the behavior? Like if the wife said, “You\u2019re not going to do that, Pal,” then husband doesn\u2019t go, and Nick said, “To hell with that! My wife doesn\u2019t tell me what to do! If I want to go, I\u2019m going.” You\u2019re saying your husband\u2019s the same way, that if you told him not to go he\u2019s go anyway just to spite you?<\/p>\n CALLER: It would be just to spite me because… (garbled cell) But, you know, I have seen the light. He goes and does what he wants because he\u2019s 40-year-old guy; he\u2019s an adult. He can do what he wants, just the same as I\u2019m 31. If I want to go somewhere and do something, and he doesn\u2019t, I go do it. It\u2019s just… It\u2019s just we\u2019re capable of thinking for ourselves and being our own person.<\/p>\n RUSH: Well, that\u2019s very mature of you, again, but in this… You see, I think I know exactly what happened here. But this is another one of those instances where I am too famous to divulge this, because everybody I\u2019m talking about could hear it, hear about it, \u2019cause you people won\u2019t keep your mouth shut. I\u2019m telling you, if I tell you and ask you not to tell anybody, one of you is gonna talk and it\u2019s gonna get back to who I\u2019m talking about, and then I\u2019ve got to explain it. You know, this kind of stuff, it\u2019s squeezing me in here.<\/p>\n So I have to hint around what happened and what I think goes on here is something along the lines of, “You\u2019re not going to have your picture taken with that pig if you want to run for the Senate or if you… You better not do it. The truth is probably that Gisele — and I\u2019m on real thin ice here, too, folks. I can\u2019t believe how close to the quicksand I\u2019m walking today. But I just… I told them here yesterday to have no doubt here that the message went out: We don\u2019t want pictures of you smiling with that pig. Are you crazy?” And go do it anyway.<\/p>\n
