RUSH: Very quickly, the Calvin Broadus story. Calvin Broadus is a well-known rapper using the stage name Snoop Dogg. Snoop is… he\u2019s out there. He\u2019s on the fringes. In terms of manners, culture, refinement, those don\u2019t apply here. And Snoop Dogg is very proud of this. Classic member of the rapper community. I don\u2019t know where he comes down on the East Coast versus the West Coast gang. Was he a friend of Tupac\u2019s or not? (interruption) He\u2019s a West Coast guy? Snoop\u2019s a West Coast guy, so he might have been a friend. Of course, Tupac died a one pack.<\/p>\n

Anyway, Snoop Dogg did a video with clowns, people dressed as clowns, and one of the clowns was an impressionist of Donald Trump. And Snoop Dogg had this clown shot, not with a real gun. It was a gun that fired a flag that said, “Bang bang, you\u2019re dead” or some such thing. But clearly the implication was that it was great, great rap impresario, great humor here, great performance art to assassinate Donald Trump, even though he used a flag gun and this kind of thing.<\/p>\n
Well, Trump reacted to it and called Snoop Dogg out on this, which of course Snoop Dogg loved. And the nephew of Calvin Broadus is another rapper that goes by the name of Bow Wow, and Bow Wow was very offended when his uncle Snoop Dogg was criticized by the president. So what Bow Wow did was essentially warn Melania Trump to be very careful because they were gonna pimp her out. We\u2019re gonna pimp Melania out. That\u2019s the nephew of Snoop Dogg, a guy by the name of Bow Wow. I don\u2019t know what his real name is. I could find out. I just haven\u2019t made the effort.<\/p>\n

So there have been numerous bits about assassinating Trump as there were with Bush. It doesn\u2019t seem to be that anybody\u2019s alarmed by it. Can you imagine even one of these — that\u2019s what Trump said. He said if Snoop Dogg had pulled this stunt against Obama that he\u2019d be in jail, that Secret Service would have put Snoop Dogg in jail. That\u2019s what Trump said. A lot of people are saying, “Mr. Trump, please don\u2019t respond to these things. It just gives these people attention and they love it and they feed off of it. And you gotta be bigger than that.”<\/p>\n
It\u2019s the age-old theory. Nobody seems to really know what the proper way to deal with these kinds of critics or criticism is, \u2019cause if Trump ignored it, I guarantee you he\u2019d have, “You can\u2019t ignore that! You gotta fire back! You can\u2019t let \u2019em say that about you! You can\u2019t let \u2019em get away with pretending to assassinate you.” And I guarantee you now he\u2019s got people saying, “You can\u2019t let Bow Wow get away with talking about pimping out the first lady, your wife, you can\u2019t let \u2019em do that.”<\/p>\n
So you got pressure from all sides on what people think that you ought to do. Meanwhile, the way it used to happen, these things would cause public shame and public disapproval.
