Trump can outlast you.<\/p>\nRUSH: So guess what happened within minutes of President Trump\u2019s new-and-improved executive order temporarily barring travel from six Mideast nations. The liberals started whining and moaning and complaining and condemning and being insufferable as always.<\/p>\n
The ACLU\u2019s legal director, David Cole, said the new executive order \u201cwill be less catastrophic\u201d than the first, \u201cbut it\u2019s still religious discrimination,\u201d and it\u2019s still unconstitutional. \u201cPresident Trump, we\u2019ll see you in court,\u201d he declared.<\/p>\n
Connecticut Democrat Senator Christopher Murphy said that he would introduce a bill to overturn President Trump\u2019s order. And Senate Minority Leader “Chuck You” Schumer chimed in, voicing his displeasure. He said, “Despite the administration\u2019s changes, this dangerous executive order makes us less safe, not more. It is mean-spirited, and un-American. It must be repealed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Roll Call ran a great headline about all this: \u201cDemocrats Have Few Options on Trump Travel Ban.\u201d And it\u2019s true. Despite all this B.I.-itching and moaning, there isn\u2019t much the Democrats can really do to stop Trump. As the minority party they can\u2019t force Congress to take up legislation to overturn it, and there are too many legal hurdles for them to take him to court all the time. In other words, they\u2019re all mouth. They\u2019re powerless here.<\/p>\n
