CALLER: (chuckling) Thank you. Older and wiser, I listen to you daily. I\u2019m calling because I find it kind of worrisome that Mika Brzezinski is trying to change the subject this morning. I watch it just to get an idea what the other side\u2019s talking about before I listen to you, with her talking about how in 1982 Donald Trump was his own press agent.<\/p>\n
RUSH: (sigh)<\/p>\n
CALLER: And it\u2019s just… It\u2019s disconcerting that we have nobody coming forward other than you to defend the president, basically.<\/p>\n
RUSH: (sigh) I think there\u2019s more than me, isn\u2019t there?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, not really. Not outspoken. I mean, as far as the media goes, we don\u2019t. I mean, Tucker Carlson… I think Tucker should be voted as the next press secretary for Donald. I love watching Tucker Tonight.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, you like Tucker, do you? That\u2019d be a pay cut. That would be another pay cut situation.<\/p>\n
CALLER: (laughing) Yeah. But still, it\u2019s an honor. I find you —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Let me tell you what Mika Brzezinski was talking about. Do you know what she was talking about when she said that Trump was his own press agent?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah, about the 1982. Yeah, during his divorce and stuff and the media. It was the media even then, back then.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, but wait. He had a fake name. He called the press as his own press agent. He would say, “Hi. You know, I\u2019m John McClure of the Trump organization,” but instead it was Trump calling.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Ha! Way to save money. (chuckling)<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, whatever. So they\u2019re going about… They\u2019re using this kind of stuff to say, “See? You can\u2019t trust Trump! Trump\u2019s phony baloney, plastic banana, good…” We\u2019re dealing here with critics like that. Again, they come from, “There\u2019s only one way Washington works, and since Trump doesn\u2019t fit, we can destroy him.” And if I were you, if you\u2019re gonna watch this stuff, just don\u2019t take it seriously. I would advise against watching it. I\u2019m telling you, folks, seriously.<\/p>\n
Do you want to live a better life? Do you really want to have a normal, optimistic outlook on life every day? Don\u2019t watch that stuff! Don\u2019t watch CNN. Don\u2019t read the New York Times. If you look at Drudge and if you see headlines that portend the end of the world tomorrow, don\u2019t click on it. Just avoid the crap that pollutes the daily so-called news that comes from left-wing news organizations. You will be amazed. And it doesn\u2019t take long, either. Just two days. You go on a Drive-By Media fast, two days of it, and your outlook on life will be dramatically improved.<\/p>\n
You won\u2019t believe it. And I know you say, “Well, I gotta stay focused on what the opposition is doing.” No, you don\u2019t. I\u2019ll do that for you. I\u2019ll tell you what they\u2019re up to — and as a bonus, I\u2019ll nuke it! You don\u2019t need to expose yourself to it. That\u2019s one of the many reasons I\u2019m here. I know how to do this without it ruining my life. I know how to do this without it ruining my day. That\u2019s why I\u2019m here to run interference, to be the boundaries for you. But I don\u2019t watch half of this stuff anymore, because it\u2019s so predictable, and it\u2019s so boring — and, frankly, a lot of it is really just lame.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s just lame, some of the analysis that you get to explain things out there. And there is more speculating — you know, everybody thinks they\u2019re a political tactician. So you\u2019ll take, like, this Obamacare-versus-tax story. You won\u2019t believe the number of blogs that you will read with the possibilities of what this means. And it\u2019ll all be wild guesses rooted in esteemed political analysis. And none of it is gonna be based on anything factual beyond what is known. And it\u2019s all to get clicks, and it\u2019s all to get eyeballs and this kind of thing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
