I\u2019m watching Melania Trump here. She opened the rally. You know, I wouldn\u2019t have been surprised if I\u2019d a seen a story later in the day, &#8220;Melania Trump Accused of Plagiarizing the Bible,&#8221; \u2019cause she opened up with the Lord\u2019s Prayer. I wouldn\u2019t have been a bit surprised if somebody in the Drive-Bys had accused her of plagiarizing the Bible and trying to pass that off as something as her own. (interruption) I know it\u2019s not in the Bible; that\u2019s my point. At any rate. Trump was being very clear about who he was talking about, but you&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9DZ2vezElF4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Well, he wasn\u2019t being very clear, I guess, because so many people misunderstood it. If you know what he was talking about beforehand, and then you get to this comment where Trump refers to the media as &#8220;the enemy of the state&#8230;&#8221; That\u2019s why <a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2017\/02\/19\/rush-on-fox-news-sunday-with-chris-wallace\/\">I said yesterday on Fox News<\/a>, he was talking about the media the enemy of Trump. Trump was elected on a very specific agenda that he hid from no one. Trump made his agenda public more than any presidential candidate ever has. Truthfully, by the way, and he was elected president on that basis.<\/p>\n<p>Trump was given a mandate. Trump was elected on the basis of substance. And so the media that\u2019s coming along and trying to undermine this, he was not&#8230; Had he been talking about the whole media &#8212; had he had been trying to make the point that the whole media\u2019s the enemy of the state &#8212; then you might be able to claim that he represents a danger in shutting down the whole media. But he doesn\u2019t want to shut down the media. The truth is, he loves it! The truth is he loves the back-and-forth. He\u2019s challenged by it. He doesn\u2019t want to shut \u2019em down. All of this is so much knee-jerk paranoia.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: No, I said it is in the Bible. I was being snarky. I had a guy authoritatively try to tell me, &#8220;The Lord\u2019s Prayer is not in the Bible!&#8221; I said, &#8220;Yes, it is.&#8221; &#8220;No, it\u2019s not.&#8221; I said, &#8220;That doesn\u2019t change the point.&#8221; Anyway, the left is trashing Melania Trump for reciting the Lord\u2019s Prayer at the rally. I\u2019m not kidding about that.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: No, no, no. Look, folks. Calm down. It was after Trump\u2019s rally on Saturday, I ran a joke by people. I said, &#8220;You watch. Somewhere in the media, somebody\u2019s gonna accuse Melania Trump of plagiarizing the Bible because she recited the Lord\u2019s Prayer.&#8221; And I had some people say, &#8220;That\u2019s all good and well, but I don\u2019t think the Lord\u2019s Prayer is in the Bible.&#8221; I said, &#8220;Yes, it is.&#8221; &#8220;No. No.&#8221; So we dropped it and went on. And I mistakenly represented what this was all about. The Lord\u2019s Prayer, Matthew chapter 6, verses 9 through 13.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, it clouds the whole point. I\u2019m not trying to explain a joke. When you have to explain a joke, it never works. It was a great freaking line and it\u2019s being destroyed here by this silly &#8212; once and for all, for the record, the Lord\u2019s prayer is in the Bible.
