(impression) “I did what any good — good citizen would do.\u00a0 I — I — I came cross the report and — and I — I — I said, ‘Wow.\u2019 I said, ‘Look at this!\u2019 I said, ‘I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s true, but the FBI should see this.\u2019 So I — I turned it over. I turned it over to the FBI.”\u00a0 Did you believe what\u2019s in it?<\/p>\n

“I — I — I don\u2019t know. There — there\u2019s… I don\u2019t know. I did what any citizen would do!\u00a0 I got the report, I saw it, and I said, ‘Wow!\u2019 I said, ‘I\u2019ve got to turn it over the FBI.\u2019\u00a0 That\u2019s what any good citizen would do.”\u00a0 Well, what about the evidence?\u00a0 “I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 When I saw it, I said, ‘Wow!\u2019 I said, ‘This needs to go to some agency!\u2019 So I found the proper agency. I did what any good citizen would do. I gave it to the FBI.”\u00a0 What a crock!\u00a0 And they looped that! (interruption)\u00a0 I know, “What do we need the sound bite for?” I know.\u00a0 (laughing)\u00a0 But the sound bite will back me up.\u00a0 I mean… (interruption)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>No, he won\u2019t get any repercussions \u2019cause he\u2019s an approved, accepted member of the establishment. He accepted his loss for the presidency with dignity. He\u2019s officially, you know, been defeated. He\u2019s a nonentity. He does what the establishment wants; he\u2019s a member in good standing. He\u2019ll be fine.\u00a0 But they\u2019re all running for cover.\u00a0 I mean, they\u2019re all… CNN has a panel of like eight people to talk about this now.\u00a0 It\u2019s ridiculous.\u00a0 I mean, everybody is in CYA mode.\u00a0 “I did what any good citizen would do.\u00a0 I got this report that says a guy urinated…<\/p>\n

“Well, he hired a prostitute to urinate! Gosh, I wish I\u2019d been there to see that, you know what I mean? But I didn\u2019t.” Did you think it\u2019s true?\u00a0 “I have no idea if it\u2019s true.\u00a0 I said, ‘This is something the FBI needs to see.\u2019 So I put my good citizen cap on and I called the FBI! I called Comey and I said, ‘Look at this! We — we — we gotta get this.\u2019\u00a0 Actually, I didn\u2019t say that. I wanted to say that, but I didn\u2019t say that. I said, ‘I have to give this to the FBI!\u2019 I was just being a good citizen,” and they loop it three or four times. Ahhhh, folks. It\u2019s just…\u00a0 Some days it\u2019s just too much fun.\u00a0 That\u2019s why I say more fun than a human being (chuckles) should be allowed to have.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s the McCain sound bite.\u00a0 We\u2019ll see how I did.\u00a0 I just heard about 20 seconds of it, but we now have 47 seconds, John McCain on Capitol Hill today speaking to the press about the fake news story that he helped spread about Trump and the Russians.<\/p>\n

MCCAIN:\u00a0 And after looking at that information, I took it to the FBI and have had no further involvement with the issue.\u00a0 By the way, according to some media reports, they had already had that information, but I didn\u2019t know that at the time.\u00a0 I did what any citizen should do; I received sensitive information and then I handed it over to the proper agency of government and had nothing else to do with the issue.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>REPORTER:\u00a0 Why do you think they came to you?<\/p>\n

MCCAIN:\u00a0 No idea.<\/p>\n

REPORTER:\u00a0 Do you find the information credible?<\/p>\n

MCCAIN:\u00a0 I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 That\u2019s why I gave it to the FBI.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s credible or not.\u00a0 But the information I thought deserved to be delivered to the FBI, the appropriate agency of government.<\/p>\n

REPORTER:\u00a0 Does it trouble you?<\/p>\n

MCCAIN:\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t trouble me because I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s accurate or not.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 What do you mean, it doesn\u2019t trouble you?\u00a0 If it doesn\u2019t trouble you why did you have your good citizenship hat on and think you had to go over to the FBI and give it to Comey? (imitating McCain) “It doesn\u2019t trouble me.\u00a0 And by the way, I wasn\u2019t the first one.\u00a0 I found out they already had it before I gave it.\u00a0 So don\u2019t come to me.\u00a0 I found out they already had it.\u00a0 You know what?\u00a0 I don\u2019t know if anything in it is right.\u00a0 Ah, to hell with it.\u00a0 Didn\u2019t work.\u00a0 Screw it.”<\/p>\n

Well, it\u2019s great and it\u2019s funny, but, you know, it\u2019s also dangerous and it\u2019s pathetic, and it\u2019s embarrassing.\u00a0 I mean, these are the supposed leaders of our government here, supposedly putting the American people and issues, economy first and so forth, and it\u2019s sure as heck isn\u2019t that.\u00a0 This is self-preservation on display like we haven\u2019t seen in a while.<\/p>\n
