RUSH:\u00a0 Oh, yeah, that\u2019s right.\u00a0 I forgot.\u00a0 Tonight is Obama\u2019s swan song speech.\u00a0 Oh, yeah!\u00a0 The farewell address.\u00a0 What do you think that\u2019s gonna be?\u00a0 What\u2019s Obama gonna…? I just saw the little promo up there on CNN: “Obama Farewell Address Tonight!” They got a countdown, 7 hours, 53 minutes, 43 seconds to the Obama farewell address!\u00a0 Big whoop.\u00a0 But what do you think it\u2019s gonna be?\u00a0 Well… (interruption) Oh.\u00a0 Oh.\u00a0 Yeah.\u00a0 I do think he\u2019s gonna mention the media.\u00a0 I tell you what I think it\u2019s gonna be.\u00a0 I think Obama\u2019s farewell address is gonna have the following tone.<\/p>\n

Now, he\u2019s not gonna say it in these exact words, but the message from Obama is gonna be, “You didn\u2019t realize how good I was.\u00a0 You didn\u2019t realize how good you had it.\u00a0 And one of the reasons you didn\u2019t is because we have an out-of-control media.\u00a0 We\u2019re not all dealing with the same set of facts like we used to before 1988.\u00a0 Now, we got all kinds of different facts. Everybody can make up their facts, put it out there, and I am so good but you never knew it.\u00a0 I\u2019m the best thing that ever happened to this country, but most of you don\u2019t know it, and it\u2019s a shame for you.<\/p>\n

“I gave it my best, but you never realized what you had in me.”\u00a0 It\u2019s gonna have that kind of tone. Do not doubt me on this.\u00a0 And he will — you\u2019re right, Snerdley, he will — talk about the “filters.”\u00a0 Filters is the code word for talk radio.\u00a0 If you hear him talk about “filters,” I want you to think my name, because that\u2019s what\u2019s in his mind, folks.\u00a0 I mean, we have this on tape over the weekend, the Axelrod podcast and a couple of other interviews he\u2019s actually said so, actually mentioned my name as being one of these people responsible for the different set of facts than what everybody else has.<\/p>\n

In other words, “We used to have a media monopoly where all of us on the left got to define and determine what everybody knew; and since 1988, that had been the case.\u00a0 We lost our monopoly in 1988.\u00a0 Now people get to bring their own facts in, and people are confused, and it\u2019s a shame \u2019cause I\u2019m the best thing that ever happened to this country, but nobody knows it or not enough people know it,” because of me.\u00a0 And there\u2019s gonna be…\u00a0 I guarantee you he\u2019s not gonna be able to help himself.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>There\u2019s gonna be, “I could have been even better if you\u2019d have just realized what you had,” meaning you, the American people. “If you\u2019d have realized just how brilliant and good I am, I could have been even better.\u00a0 Well, for some reason I wasn\u2019t able to overcome it.”\u00a0 He won\u2019t blame himself.\u00a0 He\u2019ll blame “the filters,” and then he\u2019ll give a shout out to his Hollywood friends.\u00a0 Have you seen this pathetic video going-away present from these Hollywood celebrity types? The so-called A-listers have done a video that is… I don\u2019t know what it is.\u00a0 Obama\u2019s greatest hits.\u00a0 It\u2019s a, “Thank you, Mr. President, for all you\u2019ve done” type thing.<\/p>\n

And the purpose of it is to relive the highlights of the Obama administration, and there\u2019s some things that none of these celebrities mention.\u00a0 For example, Obamacare is not mentioned by any of them, as in, “Thank you, Mr. President, for saving Americans\u2019 health care.\u00a0 Thank you, Mr. President…”\u00a0 There\u2019s none of that.\u00a0 There\u2019s nothing about the Iran deal.\u00a0 Not one of these celebrities mentions the greatness of the Iran deal.\u00a0 I say that because Obama thinks that\u2019s one of his greatest achievements.\u00a0 You\u2019ve got, what is it, Leonardo DiCaprio, and he thanks Obama for everything he\u2019s done on climate change.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s see, what else is in there?\u00a0 We got Tom Hanks in this thing; they\u2019ve got Samuel L. Jackson.\u00a0 Oh, you know who else they don\u2019t mention?\u00a0 Bin Laden.\u00a0 They don\u2019t mention him. This is one of Obama\u2019s signature moments, right?\u00a0 He beat bin Laden and saved General Motors.\u00a0 They don\u2019t mention that.\u00a0 It\u2019s pure surface that these A-list celebrities mention in their video.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s an example of what I was just saying — an AP story, of all places.\u00a0 It\u2019s another poll, an Associated Press poll.\u00a0 “Obama Won Nation\u2019s Approval But Didn\u2019t Unite It.<\/a>”\u00a0 No kidding! “More Americans feel Barack Obama\u2019s presidency divided the country than feel it brought people together, according to an AP poll.”\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0 So Obama\u2019s swan song speech is tonight.\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t want to be the person that has to tell him about this poll.\u00a0 They probably won\u2019t.\u00a0 But there\u2019s no doubt about this.\u00a0 “Obama Won Nation\u2019s Approval But Didn\u2019t Unite It.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>You know, there\u2019s no reason for this approval, folks.\u00a0 If you look at polls on what people think about Obama\u2019s agenda and policies, not very many support them now.\u00a0 If you look at this concept, “Did Obama unite America?”\u00a0 No, he didn\u2019t.\u00a0 And yet you look at his personal numbers, and they\u2019re what, 55%?\u00a0 I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 It\u2019s a majority.\u00a0 There no logical explanation for this.\u00a0 I mean, there\u2019s no correlation.\u00a0 If people think he did not… In fact, it\u2019s not just that.\u00a0 If people think that his presidency led to a more divided America, what the hell is there to support about that?<\/p>\n

And if people don\u2019t like Obamacare — and, by the way, a majority of Americans want it repealed. I mean, you can\u2019t find an Obama policy that has majority appeal, and yet he does.\u00a0 “What explains this?” I ask rhetorically.\u00a0 “He\u2019s likable.”\u00a0 Okay, he\u2019s likable.\u00a0 A likable guy.\u00a0 Yeah.\u00a0 Okay, fine.\u00a0 Fine and dandy.\u00a0 Eight years after Obama\u2019s historic election, 27% see the U.S. as more united as a result.\u00a0 I\u2019d like to know what they\u2019re smoking.\u00a0 Twenty-seven percent think it\u2019s more united.\u00a0 Forty-four percent say the country\u2019s more divided.<\/p>\n

How can you think otherwise?\u00a0 If you watch the news, you can\u2019t help but realize the country\u2019s the most divided it\u2019s been since Lincoln freed the slaves, and that\u2019s the last time I\u2019ve seen the Democrats as mad as they are now.\u00a0 I mean, I don\u2019t care what the Drive-Bys do. If they try to paint this country as unified and happy and kumbaya, they can\u2019t because it isn\u2019t.\u00a0 But now we\u2019ve got all these optimism polls coming off, what? Trump\u2019s victory, which equals Obama\u2019s and Hillary\u2019s defeat.<\/p>\n
