{"id":215184,"date":"2016-12-15T18:45:50","date_gmt":"2016-12-15T23:45:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/172.24.32.11\/daily\/2016\/12\/15\/reality_show_capitalists_vs_socialists\/"},"modified":"2017-01-03T12:52:36","modified_gmt":"2017-01-03T17:52:36","slug":"reality_show_capitalists_vs_socialists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/admin.rushlimbaugh.com\/daily\/2016\/12\/15\/reality_show_capitalists_vs_socialists\/","title":{"rendered":"Reality Show: Capitalists vs. Socialists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: Here\u2019s Aaron in Washington, Illinois.&nbsp; Great to have you on the program, sir.&nbsp; How are you doing?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; I\u2019m doing great.&nbsp; Thanks so much for taking my call.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; It\u2019s truly an honor.&nbsp; I want to make a quick point.&nbsp; I\u2019m looking at the world; I\u2019ve never seen it like this before.&nbsp; And I think there\u2019s been a revival and an awakening on both sides, on the right and the left.&nbsp; And on the right, we\u2019ve realized, we don\u2019t need the left.&nbsp; Capitalists don\u2019t need socialists.&nbsp; But what\u2019s scary is everybody on the left had an awakening also, and they realized that they do need us. The mask has dropped and they realize that they\u2019re irrelevant.&nbsp; They\u2019re inconsequential.&nbsp; They couldn\u2019t survive without the hard work of everybody on the right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; You think they figured that out?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; I think that\u2019s why they\u2019re&#8230; I think they know they\u2019re drowning.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; I was gonna ask you &#8212;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_132061\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Socialism-Rush.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER:&nbsp; They\u2019re flailing their arms and they\u2019re pulling everybody under with them.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Look, this is an intriguing concept.&nbsp; Let me go back to the very beginning of this, because you think&#8230; I just want to restate this.&nbsp; You tell me if I understood you correctly.&nbsp; You think it\u2019s been a real awakening on both sides where those of us on the right have realized we don\u2019t need them.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Absolutely.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; We don\u2019t need them. For our lives to be lived the way we want to live and for the country to operate the way we want it to operate, we don\u2019t need them, okay?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Absolutely.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; But they have realized they need us, that they can\u2019t have the country they want without us, and your theory is, they need somebody working, they need somebody paying taxes for them to all be on welfare with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: They need somebody producing the things that they\u2019re gonna take from people to give away.&nbsp; Is that your basic theory?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Well, let me go one step further.&nbsp; If there was a reality TV the show, you put a group from the right and a group from the left on an island with some bare supplies. Everybody on the left dies.&nbsp; They have no life skills whatsoever to make it, and they\u2019ve realized that.&nbsp; They have lived as leeches &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Okay, wait. Let\u2019s stop right there.&nbsp; Hold it.&nbsp; Hold it.&nbsp; I want to bring your example to life.&nbsp; We\u2019ve got two reality shows.&nbsp; We got a bunch of conservatives on an island and they know self-reliance and they know production, and they know the idea of incentive as motivation.&nbsp; On the other reality show, you have a bunch of liberals on an island, and there\u2019s no golden goose there. There\u2019s nobody out producing wealth. There\u2019s nobody creating anything that can be taxed or transferred.&nbsp; There\u2019s nothing that can be redistributed.&nbsp; As such, they don\u2019t know how to go out and produce, because they have not done so.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; We\u2019ve actually&#8230; We have seen that show, by the way. Are you aware that we\u2019ve seen that show?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; We\u2019ve seen it again in every system that\u2019s tried &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: No, no, no!&nbsp; That actual show.&nbsp; We have seen that show.&nbsp; I\u2019m gonna get in trouble here, folks.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; I\u2019m not aware of that.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Yeah, it\u2019s called Hurricane Katrina.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; That\u2019s true.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; We saw it.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; That\u2019s true.&nbsp; You had people that were willing to sit there, waiting for someone to rescue them.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; And wait for Sheppard Smith to get a boat to come pick \u2019em up, or Anderson Cooper to get somebody to come pick \u2019em up versus the people who either got out or stayed there and were driving the boats to go pick up the people that were asking for help.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_132059\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/RushCapitalism.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER:&nbsp; Right. Well, I think the scary thing is the people on the left when they realize&#8230; I think that\u2019s what happening.&nbsp; Not only are they realizing &#8212;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Well, I&#8230; What evidence do you&#8230;?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: (crosstalk)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Wait a minute, now.&nbsp; What evidence do you have that they\u2019ve realized?&nbsp; I don\u2019t see that.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; I think just in their behavior. They\u2019re acting like they\u2019re drowning, they\u2019re flailing, they\u2019re pulling everybody under.&nbsp; They\u2019re acting scared, and they\u2019re acting desperate and &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Wait a minute, though.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; There\u2019s no &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; If you were correct, and if they had seen the light, and if they realized they couldn\u2019t get along without us, there would be some gratitude.&nbsp; And there isn\u2019t!&nbsp; There is more hatred &#8212; insane, ludicrous, unhinged hatred &#8212; for us than ever before.&nbsp; There\u2019s no appreciation for us.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; I will concede that point.&nbsp; But I also concede that an awful lot of people that I work with on a day-to-day basis &#8212; whether they\u2019re in trade unions or in manufacturing &#8212; have all come around.&nbsp; Not one of them voted Hillary, and they all voted for Obama, and these are guys going back four generation of being Democrats &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Okay.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp;&nbsp; &#8212; and they said enough is enough.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Right, right, right.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; We don\u2019t need &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Right, right.&nbsp; Okay.&nbsp; So you\u2019ve got what is called anecdotal evidence.&nbsp; You\u2019ve got some people you know who are being a little bit more understanding.&nbsp; I\u2019m here to tell you &#8212; and I respectfully disagree here &#8212; that I think on balance nationwide there isn\u2019t any acknowledgment from anybody on the left that we are worth even being alive.&nbsp; I think there\u2019s more abject hatred and division and discord, unhinged special kind of stupidity than I\u2019ve ever seen in my life.&nbsp; You know, the other version of your story that we\u2019ve seen is the Pilgrims.&nbsp; Your reality show, we\u2019ve seen it.&nbsp; We\u2019ve seen it repeated day in and day out if we want to look at it the way you did.&nbsp; Okay, look, I\u2019m out of time &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Rush, believe it or not I\u2019ve shared that story with my kids and I believe I heard it from you. I\u2019ve been listening to you for a long time, and when they tried socialism, they starved to death and when they had private property, they flourished.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Well, some of them starved.&nbsp; And they didn\u2019t produce nearly as much. There wasn\u2019t any incentive.&nbsp; There were a bunch of people that figured out &#8212; the Pilgrims figured out &#8212; that they could sit on their ass all day because other members of the camp were out producing. Because everything got put into a common store, everything produced. And so whether they produced or not, they got a share of it.<\/p>\n<p>And it didn\u2019t work because what happened, is resentment set in among the people that were doing the work and doing the producing.&nbsp; And William Bradford\u2019s journal is very clear about this.&nbsp; They scrapped that and they essentially set up a system of market capitalism.&nbsp; And that\u2019s when they began to prosper, and that led to the first Thanksgiving, thanking God for all of that.&nbsp; And you\u2019re right. You did hear it here because it\u2019s not taught anywhere else, or wasn\u2019t.&nbsp; Now, iPhone, 7 or 7 Plus?&nbsp; Which do you prefer?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; To be honest, I don\u2019t know.&nbsp; Let\u2019s go with the 7 Plus.&nbsp; It will be a gift for my wife.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Well, now, wait a minute, if you don\u2019t know, you mean you don\u2019t know the difference in the two?<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_132058\" class=\"img_right\" align=\"right\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/iphone622333218_large.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">CALLER:&nbsp; I do know the difference.&nbsp; I\u2019m not sure which one would be better for her.&nbsp; She has the Samsung big Galaxy thing that she\u2019s used to, but believe it or not she dropped it in water not too long ago and it\u2019s been on the fritz and I was looking to get her a phone for Christmas anyway.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; It was on the Fritz out of the box.&nbsp; She just didn\u2019t know it.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Okay.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; So is it a big phone?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Yes, sir, it is.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; And she likes it.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Yes, she does.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Okay, then you want the Plus.&nbsp; Who\u2019s your carrier?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Well, that\u2019s the other thing.&nbsp; She switched her and the kids over to Straight Talk, so I\u2019m not sure what the carrier is.&nbsp; It\u2019s just you pay-as-you-go.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; It doesn\u2019t matter.&nbsp; It doesn\u2019t matter.&nbsp; I have iPhones that will work on any network in the world except for a couple of ChiCom LTE networks, but you\u2019re not gonna go to China with these so you\u2019ll be fine.&nbsp; Does she have a color &#8212; my guess is she\u2019d like gold or rose gold?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:&nbsp; Let\u2019s go with rose gold.&nbsp; That sounds beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Okay, I think I\u2019ll be able to accommodate that.&nbsp; I think I got one rose gold left.&nbsp; If not.
