CALLER:  How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH:  I\u2019m great.  Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Uh, I\u2019m calling to make two comments on your Rush Revere book series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Oh, yes, ma\u2019am.  Thank you.<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER:  The first one is to thank you for writing the series.  I\u2019m the grandmother of a child who has dual citizenship.  Her father is from Great Britain; her mother is an American.  This child attends a British international school, and your books give us the chance to tell our side of the story, and for that I\u2019m thrilled.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Oh, thank goodness.  Where does your granddaughter actually attend school?<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Hong Kong.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Hong Kong.  It\u2019s a British international school in Hong Kong?<\/p>\n

CALLER:  That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  And am I correct in assuming that the American founding is not high up on the curriculum there?<\/p>\n

CALLER:  (bursts out laughing) Ha-ha! You\u2019re correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yes.  You\u2019re correct.  But even though — and we have a friendly rivalry with the other grandparents.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Right.  Well, they\u2019re Brits.  The people that we beat.  Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Right.  We have a lot in common.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Well, my husband, bless his heart, at the wedding reception many years ago in Hong Kong made a toast to Yorktown, which didn\u2019t go over too big.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH:  Yeah, I bet.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  And my son-in-law refers to us as “the colonies,” so we do have this tit-for-tat.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  So how do my books help?  Are they taking them to school?<\/p>\n

CALLER:  No, no.  I just ordered book one.  This child is seven so she\u2019s learning to read and I look through the list to see which are the appropriate grade level.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  That would be a good starter.  That\u2019s a great one to start with.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Well, my second comment is your five star reviews on these books number in the thousands, like six thousand.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  You mean on Amazon.  Isn\u2019t that incredible?<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yes.  Well, I\u2019m a former schoolteacher who taught civics, ninth grade, and when I read reviews — and I\u2019m gonna read the book before I send it on — but what I thought after I saw all those reviews is that, because you have so many readers, I don\u2019t know the legalities of doing something like creating an internet link so that kids who have read these books in various cities can meet one another like a book club and —<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Well, we don\u2019t quite have that, but there is a Facebook Rush Revere page where they can all go, because what happens is that people, kids who read the books send pictures of themselves opening the boxes, dressing up —<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  — as the characters in the book. The families send videos and pictures of their kids acting out various —<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Well, that\u2019s a great, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  So it\u2019s Facebook.com\/RushRevere<\/a>.  And anybody can go there.  Now, actual linkage one to another —<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER:  Meeting.  Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  You can do it on Facebook.<\/a><\/p>\n

CALLER:  Well, I\u2019m an old school, I\u2019m an old person, so I like that face-to-face —<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER:  — because it creates conversation.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Well, we\u2019re doing that with a bunch of homeschool people, too.  But I\u2019m glad you brought up the reviews.  Reviews are off the charts.  On Amazon the four- and five star reviews, it\u2019s incredible.  I\u2019m glad you reminded me.  I never talk about that and I should because that\u2019s actual feedback from readers. And some of the reviews on Amazon, the people that take time to write, are just out of this world.  It\u2019s extremely, extremely flattering, and I\u2019m really glad you mentioned that.  Look, I\u2019m really pressed on time here, Carol, but every caller gets a new iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus if you would like one.  Would you like one?<\/p>\n
