{"id":214801,"date":"2016-10-31T18:24:11","date_gmt":"2016-10-31T22:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/172.24.32.11\/daily\/2016\/10\/31\/putting_comey_s_actions_in_context\/"},"modified":"2017-01-05T11:24:34","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T16:24:34","slug":"putting_comey_s_actions_in_context","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/admin.rushlimbaugh.com\/daily\/2016\/10\/31\/putting_comey_s_actions_in_context\/","title":{"rendered":"Putting Comey\u2019s Actions in Context"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: Let\u2019s start at the beginning on this, because what Comey did in the first place is&#8230; You can\u2019t put all this in context without going back and looking. It was July 5th, I think it was. I\u2019m not sure about the date, but that\u2019s when Comey announced everything he had found, all the evidence that Hillary Clinton had violated this and violated that and maybe told some distortions here.&nbsp; She didn\u2019t&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>At that point, she had not lied to the FBI, but she may have lied to Congress. She may have lied to the American people, which is not the same as lying in your FBI interview.&nbsp; So what Comey does, is he comes out and explains what they found, and it was a list of crimes.&nbsp; And it was comprehensive.&nbsp; But that was unprecedented.&nbsp; This hardly ever happened.&nbsp; When\u2019s the last time you can remember the director of the FBI announcing what he had found in an investigation of anything?&nbsp; Normally that\u2019s the Department of Justice. That\u2019s the attorney general that announces these things.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can\u2019t examine why Comey did what he did Friday without going back to the beginning, because once you start making mistakes, you usually continue making them in order to service the first mistakes.&nbsp; So the first mistake, being honest, was what Comey did in announcing her crimes, listing what would have been an indictment. But then he took the extraordinary step of saying he was recommending that she not be prosecuted because he couldn\u2019t find any intent and no reasonable prosecutor would take this case to court.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2016\/06\/30\/what_i_think_bill_told_loretta\"><img id=\"eZObject_129792\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/LynchClintonAG-in-AZ-TRUTH.jpg\"\/><\/a>And everybody signed off on it.&nbsp; This was, of course, after <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2016\/06\/30\/what_i_think_bill_told_loretta\">Bill Clinton had met on the tarmac with the attorney general, Loretta Lynch<\/a>. &nbsp;I mean, everything about this has just been one mistake after another because it\u2019s involving the Clintons, and they corrupt everything that they touch. &nbsp;So the theories began to Comey&#8230; Remember, his reputation going into this is one of unimpeachable integrity.&nbsp; Everybody that\u2019s ever known James Comey has talked about his character and his integrity and the fact that he\u2019s a straight shooter and doesn\u2019t go partisan one way or the other and is a strict law-and-order guy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Everybody who\u2019s ever worked with him or knows him said this about him.&nbsp; Then that whole press conference happens, and there are numerous reactions to it.&nbsp; But in the grand scheme of things that shouldn\u2019t have happened.&nbsp; Why did it?&nbsp; Well, theories abound.&nbsp; I\u2019ll tell you what mine is: I think that Comey knew that no matter what he recommended, there wasn\u2019t gonna be a prosecution.&nbsp; Bill Clinton had met with Loretta Lynch.&nbsp; His boss is Barack Obama.&nbsp; He knows that they are not going to pursue Hillary Clinton.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another thing: He didn\u2019t want to be the guy the history books wrote about as the guy who took out the duly nominated presidential candidate of the Democrat Party.&nbsp; &#8220;Don\u2019t want to go there,&#8221; he says to himself.&nbsp; &#8220;That\u2019s not for me to do.&#8221;&nbsp; Throughout the criminal justice system there is a philosophy that &#8212; and I\u2019m paraphrasing this, but it goes along the lines that justice knows no timeline.&nbsp; Meaning you don\u2019t delay justice for elections, you don\u2019t delay justice for birthdays, you don\u2019t delay justice for Christmas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4jH_DBR4pSI\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019ve got the case, you go forward with it.&nbsp; But this clearly was a case of justice affected by an election and one man, Comey, not wanting to be the guy in history books who took her out.&nbsp; And that\u2019s what it would be.&nbsp; And he\u2019s smart enough to know that.&nbsp; He doesn\u2019t want that for himself.&nbsp; He may not want that to be the case anyway.&nbsp; So he reads off this list of irregularities and crimes and whatever.&nbsp; I think he was laying it out for the American voters.&nbsp; I think he was actually trying the case not before judge and jury, but before the American voters with that press conference.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t have any idea if that\u2019s true.&nbsp; It\u2019s just my theory.&nbsp; I think he cares deeply about this.&nbsp; I think he finds everything that\u2019s gone on here really problematic, and if it weren\u2019t the Clintons and if it weren\u2019t an election &#8212; if it weren\u2019t the fact she\u2019s a Democrat nominee &#8212; I think it would have gone an entirely different way.&nbsp; So he lays it out for the American people.&nbsp; Well, that causes problems.&nbsp; Because agents who did the investigation know full well what they\u2019ve got on her.&nbsp; In addition to whatever he announced, they know full well what they found.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129793\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/HillaryCrimeHuma-Mills.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">They worked very hard on it, and there were a lot of irregularities in this case that don\u2019t usually happen.&nbsp; For example, Cheryl Mills &#8212; who is really nothing more than an aide to Hillary Clinton, a very exalted executive assistant.&nbsp; She\u2019s never been her lawyer.&nbsp; But during Hillary\u2019s FBI interview, they gave Cheryl Mills immunity. They let her sit in on the Hillary interview and then acknowledged that she was Hillary\u2019s lawyer, which gave them attorney-client privilege, which meant anything that Cheryl Mills said could not be used in the investigation.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>Even granting her immunity, you have to be an agent in the FBI looking at this saying, &#8220;What in the Sam Hill is going on?&nbsp; This is not how we do investigations.&nbsp; This is not how we work at all.&nbsp; Why is this woman being called a lawyer for this interview?&nbsp; Why is she being granted immunity?&#8221;&nbsp; And then, to add insult to injury, the FBI announced that after all this they were gonna destroy the laptop computer of Cheryl Mills and one other person. And when that happened, we\u2019re all scratching our heads: Why in the world are they destroying the laptop?<\/p>\n<p>Well, because in other criminal cases like, say, involving drugs, they destroy the evidence.&nbsp; After it\u2019s been used for your investigation and you wrap the investigation, whether it results in a trial or not, you destroy the evidence.&nbsp; You get rid of the cocaine. You get rid of the whatever it is.&nbsp; Well, in this case it was laptop computers. You get rid of them. Except we now know they didn\u2019t.&nbsp; Some rogue agents &#8212; &#8220;rogue,&#8221; in this case, is a loosely used term &#8212; kept the laptop.&nbsp; They didn\u2019t throw it away, and the agents in&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129800\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Comey-BW.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">I have this on good authority that agents who worked the case and agents who didn\u2019t work the case were just livid over how all of this went down because they know. They know what was found. They know in no other case does the husband of a perp get to arrange a meeting on a faraway airport tarmac with the attorney general to discuss the case.&nbsp; It just doesn\u2019t happen! That\u2019s, &#8220;Hello, mistrial,&#8221; if it ever goes to court or, &#8220;Hello, tainted investigation.&#8221; They\u2019re sitting watching all of this, the agents are, and there is credible word that Comey was facing&#8230;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>I hate&#8230; I don\u2019t want to use the word &#8220;mutiny,&#8221; but it\u2019s been used by others. But that there was just discontent and disunity and all kinds of trouble inside the FBI as a result of the first Comey announcement, and then subsequent interviews where Cheryl Mills was granted immunity and then proclaimed a lawyer, when she\u2019s never acted as Hillary\u2019s lawyer &#8212; and then her laptop ordered to be destroyed.&nbsp; So then you get to the Friday Comey announcement. &nbsp;Look, all of this is speculation. Some of it well informed, by the way, but it\u2019s still speculation.&nbsp; I don\u2019t know. Nobody really knows.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And the bottom line is: Is it gonna have an impact on the election?&nbsp; Yes.&nbsp; That\u2019s the bottom line.&nbsp; That\u2019s what people want to know.&nbsp; We\u2019ve dealt with that.&nbsp; There\u2019s no question that it will.&nbsp; But it\u2019s still interesting to discuss what happened.&nbsp; So Comey is dealing&#8230; He\u2019s got this&#8230; Remember, go back to the first Comey press conference. He\u2019s of impeccable integrity, impeccable character. He has endorsements from everybody who\u2019s ever worked with him that he\u2019s a straight shooter, a straight up guy, not partisan.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129791\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Comeytestify-DHS-B.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">He is Clark Kent.&nbsp; This guy, you cannot corrupt him. He\u2019s incorruptible! And now, for the first time in his life, he\u2019s facing allegations he\u2019s never had to face that will taint his reputation, which then the piece de resistance has to be that in the &#8212; and karma\u2019s a wonderful thing. They\u2019re looking at four different investigations of the Clinton Foundation, and they\u2019re looking for some reason at Carlos Danger (Anthony Weiner), and they discover something for which they don\u2019t have a warrant.&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the way the legals work on this.&nbsp; Let\u2019s say that agents are investigating a perp for bank robbery. So they get a search warrant for the perp\u2019s house to see if they could find the money.&nbsp; While they\u2019re in there, they find a huge stash of cocaine.&nbsp; Well, the warrant says they only have right for the money, but if they find the cocaine, the courts and the law say they can seize the cocaine, because they have lawful entry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Okay.&nbsp; So, in this case, they\u2019ve got a warrant for Danger\u2019s computer, but they\u2019re looking at what he did with the sexting and with the girls and whatever. And in the process they find that Abedin might have lied through her teeth, that there might be classified State Department U.S. government documents on Weiner\u2019s computer; they don\u2019t have a warrant for that.&nbsp; They don\u2019t need a warrant to use it, but to keep it totally clean, they go get one, and they got it.&nbsp; They were issued the warrant.&nbsp; And you know who forced that to happen?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This guy <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2016\/10\/24\/wsj-terry-mcauliffe-fbi-jill-mccabe-clinton-emails\/\">McCabe, whose wife got all that money from Terry McAuliffe<\/a>, if that news hadn\u2019t hit, if we hadn\u2019t learned that this McCabe, the number two guy in the FBI, if we hadn\u2019t learned that McAuliffe, the governor of Virginia had been funneling money to this guy\u2019s wife and this guy\u2019s had a role in the Clinton investigation, the Hillary investigation, if we hadn\u2019t learned that, they might have been able to sweep this under the rug by saying, &#8220;You don\u2019t have a warrant for the Huma data on Weiner\u2019s laptop.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129794\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/FBIFractured-B.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">But because attention was focused and because news had been made of McAuliffe funding this guy\u2019s wife, he was the guy that led the charge to get the proper warrant to make sure that they could look at Weiner\u2019s computer on which there are supposedly access to 650,000 emails.&nbsp; Now, they\u2019re obviously not all on that computer.&nbsp; Many of them are gonna be on a server, but you\u2019ve got links to them there.&nbsp; And it may well be that Huma has committed perjury by promising that she had given up everything to the FBI, had given over everything to the FBI, that she had nothing left, that she had been totally forthcoming.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>And now here comes Weiner and they find something on there that\u2019s serious enough at this stage, you talk about impacting an election, you talk about not wanting to run the case on Hillary because she\u2019s the duly elected nominee, what about the pressure they faced here?&nbsp; It must have been so compelling they had to do this.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s go through it the other way.&nbsp; Let\u2019s say they ignore this, she gets elected, this investigation\u2019s gonna go on, folks.&nbsp; They\u2019re not gonna conclude this before the election.&nbsp; And if they do, that\u2019s a whole &#8216;nother thing.&nbsp; I\u2019ve gotta make a note to myself to get back to that because that\u2019s another possibility here that you don\u2019t want to think about.&nbsp; The odds are they can\u2019t finish this investigation one way or the other before the election, so it\u2019s gonna be ongoing.&nbsp; So let\u2019s say she wins, and we\u2019ve got a president-elect under serious criminal investigation and many of her support staff.&nbsp; Not cool.&nbsp; Not good.&nbsp; No matter how you slice it.&nbsp; It\u2019s not good that the Democrat Party\u2019s nominated this woman who has been the subject of an ongoing, legitimate criminal investigation which has even ensnared our dear president and turned him into a liar.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So they look at what they\u2019ve got, they go public, Comey goes out Friday and says (paraphrasing), &#8220;We\u2019ve learned additional things.&#8221;&nbsp; The left said, &#8220;Wait, what did you learn?&#8221;&nbsp; Comey says, &#8220;I haven\u2019t looked at the emails yet, but we\u2019ve got a serious indication that there\u2019s something very, very serious here to find.&#8221;&nbsp; &#8220;What is it?&#8221;&nbsp; Well, they look and they found state.gov email addresses on some of the email.&nbsp; So state.gov and Hillary Clinton dot whatever on Anthony Weiner\u2019s laptop.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Red flag after red flag after red flag.&nbsp; Because of the potential &#8212; we don\u2019t know if it\u2019s really happening, but good authority that agents inside the FBI are just livid and prepared to go public, by the way.&nbsp; Comey and his sullied reputation, a lot of things have come together here that apparently compelled Mr. Comey to go forward and make the announcement on Friday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129831\" class=\"img_right\" align=\"right\" alt=\"large\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/610924716_large.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">And believe you me, he knew he was gonna get hit from the Democrats.&nbsp; They loved him two months ago.&nbsp; He was the greatest guy in America two months ago. He was the finest American. He was an American everybody should listen to.&nbsp; Now all of a sudden Harry Reid has announced that he\u2019s got a friend who says that Comey has broken the law, the Hatch Act.&nbsp; Comey has not broken the Hatch Act, by the way.&nbsp; This is just a technique we now know that Harry Reid uses.&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>So Comey has revived the investigation because he couldn\u2019t resist mounting pressure inside the FBI by agents.&nbsp; This is, of course, people who are in there and know.&nbsp; Those people say the atmosphere inside the FBI has been toxic ever since last July when she was exonerated.&nbsp; Ed Klein, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-3886942\/Resignation-letters-piling-disaffected-FBI-agents-wife-urging-admit-wrong-Director-Comey-jumped-chance-reopen-Hillary-investigation.html\">U.K. Daily Mail<\/a>, says that Comey told his wife he was depressed by the stack of resignation letters piling up on his desk from agents who were unhappy and didn\u2019t want to keep working there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He was worried Republicans would accuse him of granting Hillary political favoritism after the presidential election.&nbsp; He\u2019s facing all these different things.&nbsp; I think finally what happened was, if you want to know the truth, I think finally what happened to James Comey is that old saying that I paraphrased earlier that &#8220;justice knows no clock&#8221; has finally prevailed here.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So the question, will it affect the election?&nbsp; Hell, yes.&nbsp; We don\u2019t know how much, and we don\u2019t know to what end, but hell, yes, it\u2019s gonna.&nbsp; You only have to look at Democrat reaction to this to know that.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: Let\u2019s start at the beginning on this, because what Comey did in the first place is&#8230; You can\u2019t put all this in context without going back and looking.
