We need to stop for a second, because this is outrageous, and it ought to have everybody in this country up in arms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By all rights, everybody in this country ought to be flipping mad and feeling betrayed and lied to by the Democrat Party and by Obama &#8212; and, by extension, Hillary Clinton ought to be in deep trouble because she\u2019s out there advocating this thing. She\u2019s out there defending it. She\u2019s out there claiming Obama did the best he could. Obama\u2019s a great guy. This is the best health care plan we could devise. Yes it needs to be tweaked and all that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/daily\/2009\/01\/16\/limbaugh_i_hope_obama_fails\"><img id=\"eZObject_129482\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ObamacareMediaMontSinglePayer-Rush-Hope-He-Fails.jpg\"\/><\/a>But people behind this need to be held accountable and to blame for the general damage they have done and continue to do to the greatest health care system in the world, which was ours.&nbsp; And this is just being treated with a glancing blow.&nbsp; The media\u2019s covering it, but that\u2019s it.&nbsp; There isn\u2019t any outrage accompanying the coverage.&nbsp; There isn\u2019t any explanation.&nbsp; It\u2019s just, &#8220;Aw, shucks, isn\u2019t it unfortunate?&nbsp; Man, Obama tried! Man, those insurance companies? Look at how mean they are. Look at how evil.<\/line><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">&nbsp;&#8220;These insurance companies, man, they just can\u2019t stop gouging people,&#8221; and that\u2019s the way this is being covered, when everything that\u2019s happening here is by design.&nbsp; Obama did not fail.&nbsp; We\u2019re on the way to single-payer, government-run health care sooner than anybody imagined.&nbsp; They\u2019re so confident that\u2019s where we\u2019re headed that they could happily announce premium increases two weeks before an election.&nbsp; Who does that?&nbsp; This is like the unemployment rate going up five points two weeks before the election and being honest about it.<\/line>\n<p>They\u2019re out there saying they\u2019re proudly, happily&#8230; I don\u2019t know about proudly, happily, but they\u2019re certainly without any reservation happily telling everybody that the Obamacare premiums are going up 25%.&nbsp; They don\u2019t expect there to be any fallout at all from this.&nbsp; And I\u2019m telling you, folks, there deserves to be.&nbsp; This is dereliction of duty.&nbsp; It\u2019s worse than that because this is on purpose.&nbsp; This ought to be unacceptable.&nbsp; Let me give you some of the actual words from the Associated Press.&nbsp; <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/freebeacon.com\/issues\/obama-admin-premium-increase-double-digits-obamacare\/\">&#8220;Obama Health Plan Hit by Double-Digit Premium Hikes.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qpa-5JdCnmo\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Now, this is as disingenuous and dishonest as everything the AP does.&nbsp; &#8220;Obama Health Plan Hit by Double-Digit Premium Hikes&#8221;? It\u2019s not being &#8220;hit&#8221; by it; it\u2019s causing them!&nbsp; &#8220;Premiums will go up sharply next year under President Barack Obama\u2019s health care law, and many consumers will be down to just one insurer, the administration confirmed Monday. That\u2019s sure to stoke another &#8216;Obamacare\u2019 controversy days before a presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Before taxpayer-provided subsidies, premiums for a midlevel benchmark plan will increase an average of 25% across the 39 states served by the federally run online market, according to a report from the Department of Health and Human Services.&#8221; It\u2019s neither, in this case.&nbsp; &#8220;Some states will see much bigger jumps,&#8221; like, 116%, I think, in Arizona.&nbsp; A lot of states are seeing 80% premium increases.&nbsp; And then they say, &#8220;Well, this for those without subsidies.&#8221; Well, who the hell is paying the subsides?&nbsp; What do you mean, &#8220;those without subsidies&#8221;?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129486\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ObamacareUnaffordable-1.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">It\u2019s another damned&#8230; Subsidies?&nbsp; It doesn\u2019t have a prayer.&nbsp; If it has to be subsidized, then it has no relationship to market prices or forces whatsoever.&nbsp; If it has to be subsidized in order for people to use it, it\u2019s already a disaster.&nbsp; &#8220;Moreover, about 1 in 5 consumers will only have plans from a single insurer to pick from,&#8221; you can say goodbye to competition, then, &#8220;after major national carriers such as UnitedHealth Group, Humana and Aetna scaled back their roles&#8221; because they have seen the handwriting on the wall and it\u2019s a death sentence to stay involved in this.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8216;Consumers will be faced this year with not only big premium increases but also with a declining number of insurers participating, and that will lead to a tumultuous open enrollment period,\u2019 said Larry Levitt, who tracks the health care law for the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation. Republicans pounced on the numbers as a warning that insurance markets created by the 2010 health overhaul are teetering toward a &#8216;death spiral.\u2019 Sign-up season starts Nov. 1, about a week before national elections in which the GOP remains committed to a full repeal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And then they quote Trump saying it\u2019s over for Obamacare.&nbsp; Hillary wants to double down, make it more expensive.&nbsp; It\u2019s not gonna work.&nbsp; All of this misses the point.&nbsp; This is the war on the middle class going nuclear.&nbsp; Obamacare is unaffordable and always has been unaffordable.&nbsp; Obamacare is unsustainable and always has been unsustainable.&nbsp; Obamacare was designed to cause panic and harm for millions of Americans in the hope that they would blame insurance companies for their plans and then turn to the government for a solution, for relief, which is exactly what\u2019s happening.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129488\" class=\"img_right\" align=\"right\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ObamaLyingSmall.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">The insurance companies are taking the hit. Consumers are asking the government to come in and fix it because, you see, &#8220;Obama tried, really tried. He was so compassionate. He worked so hard so people would have health insurance, worked so hard to insure the uninsured, these evil insurance companies.&#8221;&nbsp; I tried to tell these insurance companies before all this happened, if you\u2019re getting in bed with Obama you\u2019re gonna end up going out of business no matter what sweet selling stuff he\u2019s talking to you right now.&nbsp; You\u2019re gonna take the hit on this.&nbsp; &#8220;Well, we can\u2019t not participate.&#8221;&nbsp; The insurance companies, you know what looped them in, what suckered them in was Obama and the mandate.&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>If you ran a business where the federal government was gonna make a law that every consumer had to buy your product, what would you do?&nbsp; You\u2019d get in bed with the government and you\u2019d pull up the covers and whatever they wanted you to do underneath you would do.&nbsp; What a deal.&nbsp; You\u2019re in the health insurance business, and the government\u2019s gonna pass a law making sure that everybody has to buy it.&nbsp; How in the world do you not participate in that?&nbsp; But as is always the case, the people that get in bed with government, they can turn you on at any time, and where you were once cronies, now you become the focal point of the bad guys, as the bad guys.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But folks, this is unacceptable.&nbsp; You know, people were saying before Obamacare became law, it can\u2019t get any worse.&nbsp; Has it?&nbsp; I\u2019ve been searching for ways to describe this.&nbsp; And I look at the way it\u2019s being covered in the media, it\u2019s being reported, but that\u2019s it.&nbsp; Health care prices, health care insurance, insurance premiums going up 25% average.&nbsp; Some states it\u2019s gonna be higher, and the number of people, companies you\u2019ll have a chance to buy from are dwindling.&nbsp; This is the kind of failure that people do not profit from in the past.&nbsp; They do not win reelection.&nbsp; They are held accountable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is causing great damage.&nbsp; This is causing panic.&nbsp; You know how important health care is to people.&nbsp; The Democrats, in fact, have done that, too, been harping on this whole notion of health insurance and it\u2019s incumbent on you as a lawyer, government has to provide it for you. They\u2019ve been portraying doctors and hospitals and insurance companies as a bunch of people that want do nothing but kill you while soaking you and taking all your money, and they have been creating this panic that if you don\u2019t have health insurance, you\u2019re but one paycheck away from being bankrupt. They\u2019ve been doing this for 30 years and then they come give us this?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129487\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ObamaCareUNAffordable-Care-Act-Aetna-1.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">It is unconscionable what has been done here, and this is just one slice of American life and culture and business, the economy, however you want to phrase it, that this administration has targeted.&nbsp; Because the aim is to replace as much of this with the government as possible.&nbsp; Some of you might be saying, &#8220;Why, Rush, why would they want that?&#8221;&nbsp; It\u2019s power, folks.&nbsp; And if you don\u2019t have this kind of power, if you don\u2019t have a desire for it, it\u2019s tough to explain it.&nbsp; Why would a bunch of bureaucrats want to be able to control your health care?&nbsp; It\u2019s not that they want to control your health care.&nbsp; It\u2019s that they want to control the way you live.&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>If they can tie every life decision you make to health care that they are paying for, then they can deny you certain things.&nbsp; They can tell you can\u2019t eat that, drink that, can\u2019t go there, can\u2019t travel there, can\u2019t have too many kids, can\u2019t do this.&nbsp; They have total control over who you are and how you live based on how much your health care is gonna cost them.&nbsp; There will be death panels.&nbsp; There will be rationing.&nbsp; There will be decisions made on who gets treatment and who doesn\u2019t, and it\u2019s gonna be based on age. It\u2019s gonna be how some bureaucrat values your life versus somebody else\u2019s, who\u2019s worth more in terms of getting treatment so they live longer, who does the country miss less if they die sooner.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These kinds of things are coming.&nbsp; Because they\u2019re not gonna bust the budget on health care like they do for other things.&nbsp; They\u2019re gonna use it to control as much of your behavior as they can.&nbsp; It\u2019s the same objective behind climate change or global warming.&nbsp; It\u2019s to control your behavior.&nbsp; It\u2019s to guilt-trip you into behaving the way they want you to.&nbsp; And top of the list is you behave in ways that do not threaten their power, and you never vote against them.&nbsp; It\u2019s insidious what\u2019s being done here, all for the quest for power of a particular political party and everybody in it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And the kicker here is that these are the people who get all the credit for having big hearts and compassion and understanding.&nbsp; These are the people claiming to be looking out for the little guy.&nbsp; They are destroying little guys everywhere.&nbsp; They\u2019re doing it with immigration, amnesty, illegal immigration, open borders, refugees coming in from who knows where in whatever numbers.&nbsp; Now with health care, climate change, it\u2019s got to stop.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It has to stop.&nbsp; College loans have become so burdensome that a college education may not be worth it depending what your degree is in and how much money you\u2019re gonna earn in life, whether it\u2019s enough to even pay off your loans and then have a career after that.&nbsp; Everything this party is touching is going down the tubes at one rate or another.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: To Obamacare, why would the Democrats want to stick with it themselves?&nbsp; Why is there no outrage on the Democrat side?&nbsp; Now, you might have a pocket here, a pocket there, stories where Democrats are worried about it from the standpoint of their reaction.&nbsp; I\u2019ve seen a couple stories: Democrats worried about Obamacare. The premiums going up may affect down-ballot races.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129498\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ObamacareGrowGov.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">Down-ballot races? What about people\u2019s lives?&nbsp; Twenty-five, 35, 50% increases in premiums for something you\u2019ve convinced people they\u2019re gonna die if they don\u2019t have?&nbsp; They\u2019re gonna die or they\u2019re gonna go bankrupt.&nbsp; You Democrats have done that.&nbsp; You have instilled panic in people over the concept of health insurance, and now look what it\u2019s costing them.&nbsp; And your concern is the effect it\u2019s gonna have on your reelection? What about your concern for these people?&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>What about your concern for the average, ordinary American citizen who\u2019s facing these consequences and doesn\u2019t have ways to write themselves a check like many of you in government apparently do?&nbsp; Why is the Regime tolerant of this?&nbsp; Why isn\u2019t Obama outraged?&nbsp; Why isn\u2019t he out there doing something to show people how mad he is? Why is it left to Trump to say we\u2019re gonna change this?&nbsp; Why is it left to the Republicans to say this is unacceptable?&nbsp; Why did not the Democrats suffer the consequences of their actions and ideas on this?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is just&#8230; It\u2019s patently absurd here.&nbsp; This is incompetence, what they have done to the health care system, all for their own benefit.&nbsp; They don\u2019t have the financial concerns the average American does.&nbsp; Paying for things is not a problem to these establishment types that are behind this kind of legislation.&nbsp; All this compassion they have for the little guy? Where is it today with the news that health insurance premiums are making the whole concept of having disposable income impossible?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These people are gonna be behind paycheck to paycheck.&nbsp; They\u2019re never gonna get ahead, because the law requires them to have this product or pay a fine.&nbsp; This is one of the meanest and cruelest things that has been done to the people of this country, if you ask me.&nbsp; It\u2019s just downright mean when you get down to it.&nbsp; It\u2019s cruel; it\u2019s insensitive.&nbsp; And they laugh about it and they chuckle about it.&nbsp; Obama\u2019s legacy is destroying health care and family budgets.&nbsp; How\u2019s all that hope and change working out for people?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s go back. You know, Obama had a speech after he won a primary.&nbsp; I think this was up in Minnesota.&nbsp; It might have been his nomination victory speech. I don\u2019t know.&nbsp; But it was one of those.&nbsp; It was close to it.&nbsp; He said, &#8220;Because if we\u2019re willing to work for it and fight for it and believe in it then I\u2019m absolutely certain generations from now we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs for the jobless.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_129499\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/ObamacarePelosiReid.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">&#8220;This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.&nbsp; This was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last best hope on earth.&#8221;&nbsp; None of that has come to pass!&nbsp; We are not providing care for the sick.&nbsp; We\u2019re making it unaffordable.&nbsp; There aren\u2019t good jobs for the jobless.&nbsp; There aren\u2019t jobs period &#8212; and if you listen to the climate change kooks, it\u2019s getting worse than ever out there.&nbsp; And we\u2019ve only got a couple of decades before the sea levels eat us alive.&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>We haven\u2019t ended any wars.&nbsp; Obama\u2019s got this country in more wars than George Bush could ever dream of!&nbsp; And our image hasn\u2019t been restored.&nbsp; We\u2019re looked at as a has-been superpower, paper tiger.&nbsp; Now little thug dictators and would-be dictators in the Philippines can mouth off about our president. Nobody cares.&nbsp; And while all of this is going on, a guy who doesn\u2019t have a single fingerprint on any of this mess is being portrayed as the greatest threat known to America and mankind, and that would be Donald Trump.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We are living the greatest threat.&nbsp; The greatest threat ever known to mankind is liberalism &#8212; totalitarianism, communism, take your pick &#8212; and they are running this country.&nbsp; We might have won the Cold War, but we actually didn\u2019t.&nbsp; Communism has never been so prevalent and dominant in this country as it is today.&nbsp; College campuses, K-through-12 education, you can\u2019t avoid it.&nbsp; Young little skull-full-of-mush Millennials don\u2019t even know about Soviet communism!&nbsp; It\u2019s not even taught!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many of them are still living at home with mom and dad because they can\u2019t find jobs that pay them enough to move out on their own.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: This story on Obamacare premiums going up 25%?
